Yes, I know you have to sign a new contract, it's just whether you can move the duration of the old one over or start 24 months all over again. I could see the latter being very unpopular but not entirely unlikely.

Networks doing unpopular things!? Perish the thought!

Lucky you are! Do you know of they will refuse all future reservations from the over-5-reservation person? I don't think I made that many, but somehow when I used the name of my friend Marco instead of mine (Anton) the reservation came through
P.S. Looks like no luck for me today

All future reservations for that day. Also, I am not sure but she said it was "very advanced" so I think it also means registrations from the same IP. Just make sure that you use different numbers, emails, etc if it's more than 5. (and the other person is able to come to the store with you, as they ask for Photo ID).

I think i read somewhere that it was a new 24 month contract.

Shocking if this is true, I signed up with t-mobile simply because of there future 4G move. If I just took out a 24 month contract, and have to renew it after 3 or 4 months, thats a 28 month contract in total... the same phone for 28 months?! No chance I will be doing that.

T&Cs

4G: Subject to coverage. UK only. Pay monthly only.

You’ll have to agree to a new 18 or 24 month minimum term on EE.

No charge to move to EE if you move to same length plan on EE or longer.

Charges apply if you move to a shorter plan on EE.

You’ll need to choose a new EE plan with the same monthly charge or higher than your old Orange or T-Mobile plan.

Hi, i placed an order for iphone through Apple website and am expecting delivery end of October, initially the payment was showing as "pending" on my credit card but now has disappeared from "pending" but is not shown on my statement, does Apple only take money once my phone is confirmed "dispatched" from their warehouse?

Yea. The pending status was only an authorization on your order's amount.

And that my friend is why I no longer buy contract phones and go sim free. Freedom!

Normally after your 24 months is up you can leave or go down to a sim only tariff while you wait for a new phone to come out (if you do nothing and keep paying £40 odd pound a month then you sir are a fool). I went sim only while I waited for the ip5 and went from £36 a month to £8. Put those 4 months of savings into a pot and bought an ip5 outright.

Back to my point, so if you switch your orange or t-mob to EE you end up paying another load of full tariffs you don't really need to making your contract phone no longer such a tempting offer.

Another day,guys, another try.
When I hopefully get mine I am going with 3:reception is not the best, but unlimited data is good, and the price seems ok.can anyone recommend pay monthly or short term contracts?

Got back from holiday Tuesday last week and have been placing reservations at the Covent Garden, White City and Regent St for a 32gb Black. On Friday I decided to add in Stratford City which came through on Friday night. Picked this up on Saturday and haven't really used it much as my sim swap with o2 was delayed till this morning.

Overall I am pretty happy with the handset as it is significantly faster than the iPhone 4 I have come from, however not particulary happy the handset had a few minor marks round the edges from out the box. Not hugely noticable but I may swap it out for a new one in upcoming weeks.

thanks a lot, my order placed 19th sep and the shipping estimate were
18-24 oct and change to 12-18 but still processing!!!

I never did manage to track mine but it arrived on launch day. And don't worry about the quality. Mine was and still is perfect. I think a lot of people damage there own phone and then try to swap it out free of charge. Just buy a case and your good to go. I sold my iphone 4 (again had it on launch day) and it was mint condition other than the home button which was wearing out. It will probably stay on processing until the evening before it ships.

So, I received my iPhone 5 from the online Apple last week, though I hadn't used it until yesterday because I was waiting for my nano sim to get sorted. Anyway, it's now apparent that there are several scratches on the aluminium casing and one in particular is a small, but seemingly deep chip. It's nothing massive, but it's just really annoying that I've paid £530 for something new and it's not come in perfect condition. I know the phone will pick up slight nicks and scrape, even in a case, but it's the principle.

I took the phone into my local Apple store and they made it pretty apparent they wanted nothing to do with it, and even if the could, didn't have the stock to be able to swap it. So I'm left with phoning the Apple online store and looking at getting a replacement. Has anyone experienced a swap with the iPhone? Any idea what the turnaround will be time wise? I'm not particularly keen on them collecting my phone whilst I wait for them to send me another one, that would be a massive ball ache and leave me phone-less.

Cheers.

Out of interest, did you get the Black or White model? I have the Black on order and am quite concerned about all these reports of scratches and scuffs, although they seemed to have pushed back the delivery date by about 3-4 weeks at the moment...quality control?

It's the black one. My girlfriend has had the white iPhone 5 for just over 3 weeks now and there isn't a mark on it. She isn't obsessive about keeping it mint, I'm much more carful, though he leather pouch seems to be doing the trick.

Much prefer the black, though the white will look far more respectable in a years time I fear.

When I was looking at ordering the phone online through the apple store I asked the question about being able to swap out a defective handset at my local apple store ,and got two different answers from chat specialists and another from their e mail team which is why I just decided to stick to trying to reserve one.

Which was successful and I picked mine up from meadowhall this Saturday just gone. The specialist asked me to open it up in store to check it out ,and to help set it up too which I did as I wanted to ensure it was ok, which by the way it was.

But I'm sure I'll add my own wear and tear to it.

It's sitting in a bumper right now awaiting 02's sim swap to conclude.

The guy even did that for me in the store too.

What was a little OCD even for me was when a girl walked over with it and handed it to the specialist who wiped her finger prints off the plastic wrapping before I touched it !

Anyone with 18 Oct, 2012 - 24 Oct, 2012 had there's shipped yet?

Mine is expected to deliver 16 -22 Oct 2012 and still haven't shipped yet.... Come on Apple!

------------------------------------------------

Anyone knows how much does it take from when the phone is shipped until it is delivered?

It normally takes up to 48 hours to be delivered once shipped. Your order status will change in the next couple of days to Preparing for shipment. But dont be surprised if Apple change it closer to the 22nd, possibly 20th and have it delivered on the last day of the window of 22nd. Ive seen that happen.

Mine is processing and delivers 24th-30th October and its stressing me out lol!! I would love to have your shipping dates right now :p

Ive heard some people saying thier order dates were bought forward, so im checking daily just in case my dates are brought forward by a week which I very much doubt :(

I also hope mine deliveres on 24th rather than waiting till the 30th!!! but just have to wait and see.

The thing is, I will be visiting London from 18th till the 23rd (22nd practically, as I will leave on the 23rd early morning), and am shipping the phone to my friend's current residence in London as I am from Malta and the iPhone is not released here yet!

Do you know if they attempt delivery and no one is at home, whether it is possible to pick it up myself? Also, do you know at what time do they usually deliver?
