UK iPhone 5 thread

For the iPhone 4 I was able to track mine all the way from China, via Germany or Holland I think, and I seem to remember seeing people doing the same for the 4S launch.
 
When is your shipping date

Does anyone else have a ship date of 'October'? Just ordered via the app, store said 21st Sept but order says October dispatch

Website went live at 8:01 / 8:02 (sorry, didn't check exact time) according to my PC clock... Think browser caches were / are getting in the way for some people. Think it might have been the first time in the last three years when I managed to get a pre-order in without massive system problems so fair play to Apple on that one.
 
Black 64gb ordered via the iOS app.

Be careful about ordering the lightning to 30-pin adapter. As I understand it comes out in October so if Apple decided to be douches they would hold your iPhone back until they got them in. Hopefully not, though! :)

If I remember correctly they don't take the money from you yet. Happened with me for the iPad and iPhone last time
 
I was ready to pre-order but there is so little information about on the nano sims I have decided to wait as I would be incredibly hacked off to end up with a £600 phone with no sim card.
 
Apple store still down for me. It never loaded at all.

Had to find wifi in Gatwick airport and download the Apple store app to my iPad! But the order went through. So easy. Got confirmation literally a second after. Woohoo.

Their payment processing systems might only be able to make so many transactions in a set time, so they might wait a little, or maybe halifax doesn't update the system that their employees can see immediately, it might only synchronise every 15 minutes or something. I wouldn't worry. If you have a "you ordered" email it should be fine.

I know a lot of you will pull a :eek: face at me for ordering on contract but order tmobile 24 month £36 jobby.

The only thing I say about all tariffs now-a-days is that they all include massive amount of data, minutes and minutes?

Pass a credit check and it's happy days

I like how all mobile networks are stating they will get it to us as soon as its in stock and not on release day :mad:

My iPhone 4 and 4S shipped from the UK. Maybe it depends on where in the UK you live. Although with a week until they are delivered they will probably have been stockpiling them in the UK, normally there is a bigger gap between pre-orders and delivery.

Wait a few hours for their phone lines to calm down, then give them a call. That or see if you can take the day off to stay home.

you need to reset your safari to get the website work!

Exactly the same for me - some weird caching issue going on, for sure.

Even now Safari (on OSX) says 'We're closed - updating store', but in Chrome the site is live.
 
Well I am shocked that Apple's site worked for me one minute after unblocking my card.

That amazes me. The app was useless and I couldn't get it to load at all.

But my order is done and I am going back to bed now.

They will come from the UK.

Because of this we won't see movement on our orders until Wednesday night.
