Ordered my 32gb this morning at 8.20am from Apple website.

Just been in to O2 to sort out my new deal (I've been out of contract since May). Got Simplicity on 12 months (the £21.50 deal, which is actually £15.50 per month, but I get a £50 work discount applied to my first bill, so it's more like £11.33 per month).

It never ceases to amaze me the gaps in knowledge from phone shop staff. The guy serving me was a decent chap, but he didn't know that the new iPhone needed a nanosim. The manager said "you know the charger is different? It's magnetic, like on the Macbook Pro".

I just smiled and nodded.

The manager said they're definitely getting in demo nanosims across all O2 shops today and tomorrow (some may not get them until Monday) - but they've been told they will have a huge supply of them by Thursday. So, anyone buying direct from Apple who is currently an O2 customer can go in on Thursday or Friday and pick one up. You might find the phones choked trying to get through to change over your number to the new sim though.

Actually, O2's prices put them first place. £249.99 + £26 = £874 over 24 months. Compared to 3 at £895 for 500 mins 5000 texts unlimited data.

The 32GB and 64GB are much closer, depends on how much you want to put down up front!

I just worked it out - and you're right. Best 16Gb tariff is O2 then...

Not happy with a 24 month contract though, but guess I don't have any choice anymore (except for buying handset from Apple and then SIM-only - but i've always worried about these for some reason!)

Just curious as to whether anybody has 'downgraded' in terms of capacity this time around? I have a 32GB iPhone 4S but opted for the 16GB iPhone. iTunes Match and iTunes in the Cloud mean I don't need to store as much music (or video) on the phone itself, so 16GB should be fine for me.

Yes, I'm doing the same. Voda UK had no 32gb for pre order so I had a think and looked at my current storage stats on phone and iPad. 16gb is plenty for me.

well I've never had an issue with their service at all. I live in the middle of nowhere in west Wales and three is the only network that offers 3G here. but it's faster than my internet at home and it's unlimited and free tethering! so I'm very happy with them :)

Thats pretty good! i guess everyone has different experiences. For example most people slag Talk talk off for Broadband as being awful etc. But ive been with them from 1.5years and much better than my awful time with Virgin when at uni.

Three seems to be offering the best deals. £34 for unlimited data and only £79 for the phone. Everyone else is asking for £100+ and offering no where near as good tariffs. Been with Three for over 3 years now and always had good reception. Pity my contract isn't up til next June. :(

I always get my phones online. Can't listening to their lies and lack of knowledge! Magnetic charger?? Like who told him that! Haha

So am i right in saying my order status says "PROCESSING ITEMS - DELIVERS 21/9

Is that pretty much guaranteed then? Has anyone else moved to the "Preparing for shipment" stage or are we all in the same boat?

Not if you want unlimited data, o2 don't offer that, so they're not cheaper.

If you opted for sim-only, Giffgaff is probably the best root, depending on the tariff you want. They've got an upcoming price from £10 to £13 on their standard tariff.

200, 400, 800 or 1000 mins - which would you need? (all have unlimited texts & data)

Which phone size?

I've got all prices in a spreadsheet.

That's true. Giffgaff estimate that 20% of their customers need unlimited data, assuming the same applied to O2 (possibly not) they'd best look at 3. The O2 tariffs are more suitable for talkers.

But their not offering Nano sims though for a few months apparently.

I use Three because of the unlimited data as I use Spotify and no other network offers unlimited for the same price.

Not hearing good things about Orange and them supplying customers with nano sims, so can anyone post any good sim cutters or instructions/video how to cut a regular sim?

I've just ordered a giff gaff sim and intend to trim it to fit the iPhone 5. I can't see any drawbacks to giff gaff at this point. £10 for 250 mins will do me nicely!:)

I'm happy and sticking by my tmobile choice. It's a bit more than 3 but the coverage should be better and it gives me the chance to get 4G as soon as its available.

Anyone know what tmobile are like with tethering?3 used to block it on mine..

Who do Apple normally use to ship iPhones in the UK? I am getting it shipped to my mother in law's (where my card is registered) as I am currently in the US.

Pure pot luck I think. To the same address I've had Apple products delivered by UPS, UK Mail and TNT in the same year.
