I'm now preparing for shipment. Like others I had problems with the payment at first (natwest).

Ordered at 8:16

I may pull the trigger. How is the coverage in rural areas?

I haven't been out of Sussex much since I moved to Three, but I did go to Cornwall, which is quite 'rural'. The coverage there is about on par with O2's coverage, although one bar of Three's 3G signal is faster than four bars of O2's! Check your coverage on their website before you order, but if you live in or near a large town then you're likely to have good coverage.

Reserved for pick up on Friday at local 3 store, handing over 4S to wife, switcheroo with sims and that should be that.

Is it worth getting the nano sim sorted in advance of next Friday?

I'm in exactly the same boat. Fed up with how O2 are being over the Nano Sims whilst their competitors are literally giving them away. Hopefully they'll sort it out before release but I'm not holding my breath, :/

Hi,
Got rubbish from O2 online Guru & nearly switched to 3 where their bod reckoned I'd get a good signal-checked my postcode on their site-signal OK outside but sometimes no signal inside! Been there-handset on the wall, me on the lawn with bluetooth earpiece-then it rains!!! No way again.

The good news is I phoned my local O2 shop to make sure they'd have a nano-sim next Friday-he said phone Wed or Thurs-they'd probablyhave them then & could stick a nano-sim with a micro-sim adapter in my 4S ready for sorting my iPhone 5 on Friday.

Happy now assuming it happens!

That sounds more positive from O2. I'm heading into an O2 store Thursday anyway to see if they have any and will be likely o stick with them should they have them. If not then I'll have to head there on release day which will not be fun I'm sure. But yes, hopefully O2 can redeem themselves here as I don't really want to mess about transferring to 3, :)

Yay! ordered mine at 08:45 am GMT (UK) and it's now ready for shipment!

This might be a little off topic...

has anyone tried ordering a nanosim from their network to replace their current sim card? If you have bought from Apple directly than you will need a nanosim to work with your phone.

I currently have a microsim sim-only plan with 3 and want to keep it. Anyone know if they charge to get a nanosim replacement?

Got my PAC code from O2 today ....... took nearly 40 mins via the chat window as had to wait ages to be transferred to retentions. They tried to keep me but could offer nothing to keep me from changing to Orange after being on O2 since the first iPhone!

What did they offer you? I'm currently on a simplicity sim only tariff, but with all this hustle people seem to be having with the nano sims, I'm debating changing to another provider!

Not sure what todo tho, as I need the same phone number (I know it can be changed over with PAC code) but don't know if it's worth it...???

Three nano sim now fully working in my 4S with the adapter... Roll on Friday for a problem free change over! (hopefully)

Can I ask how you got the nanosim from 3? I will need one from them as well for Friday. Do you know if I can just pick one up from store? do they transfer old number to it quickly?

You can just order it online on their website now if u want, I did mine this afternoon and expected delivery either tomorrow or Monday :)

having now understood that O2 will have DC-HSDPA which should keep me happy for the next year or two (O2 video says their 4G not ready for 2 years), I'd like to upgrade from Simplicity.

Not allowing me to upgrade online and telling me to call. Anyone know if you can pre-order in store? Also anyone tried that with an O2 Open code? Gives me £75 off if they do.

I got a nano-SIM from three in store today.

It cost me £5.11 - which is stupidly expensive but anyway I paid for it - and they swapped the number to it immediately so about midnight my microSIM stopped working and I put the nano in the adaptor and slid it into my iPhone.

It came with two adaptors - nano to micro and nano to standard SIM. And if you ask me they are much more secure than the microSIM adaptors which felt like they would break if you touched them or didn't hold the SIM properly.

I am sure you can cut down the micro or standard SIM for nano but it will be trickier than standard to micro as the gold chip part is smaller so its hard to know where to cut the gold chip and not damage the SIM unlike on the standard to micro where it was easy to know where to cut the chip IF you had a chip bigger than micro size. Which wasn't normal anyway!

Idiot from on of the "3" stores in Belfast said they had the nano sims but couldn't sell them, and it was "pointless anyway because you have nothing to put it in"....

I wanted it then, so I'd have it ready for the phone when it arrives. Now I have to call back down whenever they decide they're going to sell it.

It's amazing how much inconsistency there is across mobile stores from the same networks. Surely every store is fed the same information. This is why people get pissed off.

He probably misunderstood you and thought u wanted it was a pay as you go sim.......that's what the guy thought when I phoned up, cos they can't sell them to PAYG customers yet so they are right.......go back to him and say u want to take out a sim only contract 1 monthly and u need the nano sim and they will defo do that!

I'm torn between ordering the black 64GB off the Three website now or queuing next Friday at the Staines store, my iphone 4 got stolen a couple of weeks ago so at the moment I'm on a Blackberry so would really like to get it next Friday!

The Three website says estimated delivery 21st Sept, is this what everyone else has or those who ordered it earlier on in the day does it says guaranteed? And for those who have queued at a Three store in the past, what time did you arrive and how long did you have to wait? I have a Three store relatively close to work so could maybe go in slightly late to work but dont want to be waiting for hours!
