Only myself to blame I suppose. Couldn't decide on black or white, so ordered both a black and white 32gb yesterday thinking I'd just cancel one of them over the weekend once I'd made my mind up. Both are now "preparing for shipment" though, for delivery on 21st, and it's too late, doh!! Can just return one I suppose.

Replacement iPhone 5 pay monthly Nano-Sim ordered yesterday from Three via 333 has arrived this morning :D at no extra cost.

I learnt with the 4S bumper costing me £25 that your best going on ebay and getting a pretty much exact quality perfect fit bumper from hong kong for about two pound.

i think im going to have to go pick up a nano sim from O2 from the shop day of release.. dont think they are sending them out before which is abit annoying

Good luck. If it becomes a real hassle I've decided I'm moving to 3 with their unlimited data!

Yup, I'll second that.

Went into the O2 store yesterday and all they would say was that they would absolutely have nano-sims for launch day, and if I went back in the middle of next week they could possibly help me then.

can anyone tell me what vodafone are doing with nano sims, can i pick one up now or do i have to wait till friday ?
also are they giving out adapters to go to nano sim and normal sim ?
would prefer one now so the phone is good to go on friday

Thanks

I was told they can't do a nano-SIM replacement without severing my current SIM. So I'd be without a phone until the iPhone 5 arrives. Is that not the case?

3 nano sim just arrived in post :) :) (wow this thing is tiny!)

Just looking forward to the 21st now....prepared for shipping :)

Giffgaff don't have nano sims and neither do Tesco, I believe.

My family have been on giffgaff for a year or so now with various iphones and I am really happy with the coverage and value - however they can be a bit shambolic sometimes..
They are apparently expecting to have nano sims in the 'coming months'(!) which is causing quite a storm on their forums.
Their £10 250 mins UL text and internet is almost certainly changing to 750MB or £13 for UL soon, as well.

I intend to get my PAC as a safety measure (they send it to you automatically following a text request) and cut down / shave my sim when my i5 arrives on Fri - if I bugger the sim then I'm off to Three, with my PAC already in hand :)

I was going to order a Three 1 month sim and have it here ready too but the contract starts when the sim arrives NOT when you put it in your phone - if my cut-down giffgaff sim works ok I won't need the Three one and I can only imagine what cancelling is like through their call centre!

Ah ok fair enough

I got one via their livechat on the vodafone website, the telephone service was appalling as they didn't even know what a nano sim was and kept saying Micro sim..

They can give you an inactive SIM that you would activate once you have your new phone but there's no need to wait as they give you adaptors for both micro SIMS and standard SIMS so you can use the nano SIM in your current phone. I'm using the nano SIM in my iPhone 4 at the moment.

I called 333 and had them send me one but in the mean time I popped into the local store and got one there (so I now have 2). The one sent to me is inactive but the one in the store was activated and became live a few hours later.

They have a supposed charge of £5.11 for the new SIM but I wasn't charged for either. It seems that they have the discretion on that one. In neither case did I ask for the charge to be removed, they just did it.

No you can get 2 adapters to fit the nano sim in, so you can then use it in another phone whilst you wait for the 5

Still no confirmation from Orange, however I can see that my next upgrade date is late 2014, so they must have it in the system somewhere.

Ah ok fair enough

Just spoke to vodafone on the phone and they told me the nano sim isnt released yet ? lol
he the told me that if i required one to pick it up in store on friday, or order it online on friday and it will be sent within 24 hours, pretty useless you would think they would try and sort everything out for release and make it easy for their customers.

Now on friday they will have a line for both the iPhone 5 and for the nano sim

Ah, okay. I would much rather do that I think, as my current micro-SIM was cut from a SIM. But having looked at my SIM, it looks as if there is virtually no room to cut it down without cutting the chip(?!).

If I phone 333 and get them to deliver a nano-SIM, how does transferring my current contract and number work?

No confirmation, except text last night to say delivery on Monday!
Sounded off so got in touch with Orange twitter help and they got back this morning to say it was a mistake.

If they sent you an inactive SIM, which is what you'd want to avoid loss of service when it's in the post, you just call them up and tell them you want to move to a new SIM. They'll take the SIM card number (which is on the packaging) and move you across to it. At some point later your existing one stops working so at that point you put the new one in.

I have just realised that the one that came through the post didn't included the adaptors, so you'd have to get some off eBay or call in at a Three store (or wait until you get the new phone).
