Was just wondering if people knew about preordering with Three, I would phone them and ask but I am currently abroad so would cost me a fortune.

Can you preorder over the phone for collection in a store, or do you have to go into a Three store to preorder? I get back from holiday the day before release so hope it won't be too late

Or worst case scenario and I can't preorder, does anyone have recommendations on when I should turn up to queue on Friday morning?

Any help greatly appreciated!

I have both a pre-order with Orange and O2.

Not sure which one to go with. Orange will change to EE and have 4G (I live in London, so beneficial), however O2 are a better company IMO.

I'm not sure I can cancel the Orange one actually, as they've taken £50 deposit and £29 for the phone.

Orange or O2?

Is that a contract sim or PAYG?
I don't mind paying for one, I just don't want to commit to a contract until I've tested the network. My dads with three and he gets awful coverage in Essex.
Why have all the networks been caught unawares by the Nano Sim. We all knew about it months ago.

It is on contract, the 30 day rolling One Plan. I had a Three micro SIM and just transferred over to a Nano SIM, so shouldn't have paid anything. My Three coverage has been excellent so far, and don't think I have had any dropped calls yet since moving.

Didn't get an adapter kit with my nano sim online otherwise I' give my PAC over now.

Would three give out just the adapter?

If you can show you have ordered can't see why not, you are a Three customer now after all. Ring your local shop and ask the question.

o2 is better for me as orange have no coverage in the sticks.. but o2 has really pissed me off the last few days...... but i get unlimited internet from them so im stuck :mad::mad::mad::mad:

I preordered both today.

O2 told me it'll be delivered on 21st. Orange say delivery when in stock, though they aim for 21st obviously.

Doubt I'll be seeing them then however. I got on the bandwagon a bit late.

Depends how much LTE means to you? do you use your 3G alot now?

Yup. I like O2 because they are much cheaper in the EU, and I find their CS friendly.

I've always found Orange to be useless when abroad. Their services seem to be crappy IMO too.

Daft question but, what is Three's operator name? I.e the name in the top left corner of the iPhone screen, is it '3' or 'Three'?

I know its pathetic but 'O2-UK' looks nicer than 'Three' but I could probably make do with '3'.

I know what you are saying, and this isnt a dig at you, but this post made me laugh.....

I had an image of you with o2 and Three pre order pages open in different tabs infront of you and you going "I dont care about prices, number of minutes or data limits.... I just want to know which will look better in the corner of my screen" :p

At the end of the day you want the 5 for the improvements inside and the bigger screen I imagine so going for a carrier that best suits what you need is the best option. It is still the same phone at the end of the day. LTE is nice but not something thats major important compared to the rest of the features.

Got my nano sim and adapter today from Three, on The One Deal, or whatever it's called.

Going to move over to them from Friday, until whenever EE finally get round to launching, at which point I'll jump ship to them.

The woman in the 3 shop said that (because I need my number to be available until I get the new phone) she'd delay the activation, and that I could just ring up 3 next Thursday, and activate then, at which point billing etc would start.

Anyone know what happens if I end up deciding to stay with O2 until EE comes out, and just don't ring up to activate the 3 sim?

The guy I spoke to was surprised I had not been told about the T&C which say they only guarantee within 30 days of release. He said it should not be 30days. Presumably to cover themselves.

I got told to check the tracker on Tuesday/Wednesday as the numbers won't work until stock arrives in the country. He told me that they can only say within 30 days until Tuesday/Wednesday when more will be known.

You can't order over phone, only in store or online. Went in today to get a nano sim that they didn't have, but it was empty and no rushing for pre orders, so you might get lucky.

You have to change plans on EE to get 4G, it won't be automatic when they change. This means agreeing to a new term, presumably another 2 years.

Haha! I've already ordered the phone, just deciding on sim plans, with O2 now but the more I read about the crap they're spouting, the more reason to drop them.

Which I have now done (honestly the '3' operator logo wasnt the deciding factor, honestly ) ordered a sim through 3 with unlimited Internet, going to see if I get away with tethering, if not i'll pay the extra £5, will still be cheaper than what I'm paying for with O2.

Feel let down by O2, but screw them, it's their own fault :D

My dad is on Vodafone and it displays 'Vodafone UK' which looks awful. I know it shouldn't be a deciding factor, but I am really OCD about things like that and it would bug me with the loading wheel etc on the opposite side. I think it's the same for Orange/T-Mobile and sometimes it displays them both. The '3' looks much cleaner. :D

I hear ya brother, Ive been with o2 for about 10 years, had pretty much every iPhone with them but this year enough was enough, and like you i went to 3 (The corner logo was something id not even thought of) for me it was just the price that did it (ive gone on contract) wasnt till id signed up that i realised how great all you can eat data and tethering would be for me..... facetime over 3G with no worries of being charged, iPhone tethered to iPad to watch Sky Go anywhere.... this has actually made up for the slight disappointment in the iPhone 5 announcement.

The last 3 months i hit my Data limit with o2 (i honestly dont know how) so i would avoid watching youtube video when not on WiFi...... Not any more

I bought one on Three's website today on a new contract. It said it was due for delivery on the 21st. I had to ring them to get my credit check approved and he took payment. He said everything was fine and someone would contact me to confirm delivery details. But I don't know if it will be delivered then and I have no way to check my order or track it

I bought a 1 month rolling £12.90 contract on 3 for a nano sim today... and then phoned Tesco to cancel, who told me they will have nanos by Friday.

So I'm a bit torn. The internet has it perks on 3, but i like my Tesco Clubcard points too, I managed to get some vouchers last months and doubled them up ROFL a girl has needs

Went into T-Mobile (DHs internet data bundle went AWOL overnight so he went in to get it fixed) and we asked about the nano sims, the guy looked at us like we had horns coming out our heads.

I ordered with 3 over the phone yesterday, was assured that id receive it on friday, They took no email address and gave me no type of order number.... Ill wait and see what happens

Agreed, so many plus points, I'd also hit my limit 2 months ago and found myself recently being really cautious with data usage. No more worries!

Also, another reason, 4G coming next year and not having to switch provider again, or even having to buy a compatible phone.

As a final test I'll compare signals once the sim arrives, but don't foresee any problems.

Payment Details

I have a quick question about payment of pre orders.

On Thursday night I changed my bank account's address over to my new place. However when placing my pre order yesterday morning, it only went through when using my previous address, so I guess the change of address hadn't gone through the system yet.

My question is, when Apple come to take the money from my account in a couple of days, and the change of address goes through, will the payment be rejected?

I spoke to somebody from my bank who said it shouldn't be an issue as they don't check the address, but I just want to make sure. The last thing I want is to have the order rejected, and end up waiting for a month for it!

Thanks in advance :)
