Its now the 6th Business Day (if we're all including the 20th as day 1) and the order status is still stuck on Processing. I wonder when we'll see some movement although technically it may not be until next Thursday if they use the full 10 estimated days for dispatch.

I dont think I've ever been this eager to at least see it change to "Preparing for dispatch".

Sold the 5 two weeks ago and have been using an old nokia in conjuntion with my android work phone which is getting rather annoying now!!

The americans who had 7-10 days are now preparing for shipment while were all here with our thumb stuck up our arse. They had more plentiful store stock, an initial batch for online while we get nothing.

I think it locks to first sim you put in.
You can use links above to reserve in store as well

Dave

You can? I've seen delivery to store but didn't think reserve and collect worked? Can't see a working link for that on the page?

I completly agree, other countries got preferential treatment for this launch despite the UK sim free phones being one of the most expensive in the world!

Its odd though traditionally apple have been good with the initial online batch of products being delivered in a timley manor.

I wonder what changed this year, well especially for us anyway?!

It's because we didn't want to join the Americans and go to war in Syria ;)

Hi guys,
A quick question here as I got a bit confused from the latest posts.
Are the phones sold in the physical Apple Stores (not online) factory unlocked?
If a friend of mine buy me a 16GB iPhone 5s from an Apple Store in her town for £549.00 and send it to me will I be able to use it my country?
Just open the box and pop in a SIM card from a carrier in my country.

Thank you in advance!

Went into my local Apple store last night and after playing with both the 5s and 5c I walked out with a 5c. Cancelled my 12:07am 5s order so hopefully that will mean someone here gets their's quicker.

Must say, I'm loving the 5c so far though.

I managed to get myself a 5S in a Three retail store yesterday but I must say that I had a play with the 5C in the Apple store and was very impressed with the build quality and feel in hand.

I really hope that they start shipping before the holidays, otherwise there is no way that we would see our phones between the 7th - 10th of oct.

Is anyone planning to check any apple stores in London this morning? I'm travelling to London anyway, but won't be in any of the stores until about 9:30. If anyone gets to any before 9, please do share!

From what i remember from previous releases the US online orders ship from China and ours start to track and prepare once in the UK so they always get this status change a few days early. If anything this is a good indication of movement soon for us.

And to be honest i do not care when they go to prepare for shipment the stage i care about is when it gets to my front door and as long as that as stated when i ordered the device.

Actually, the phone is for me. She is only going to buy it and send it to me. :)
Thank you for your answer.

my sister has bought phones for me. she ordered from online store. and yes i will not be using it in UK.

First post

I'm really unhappy with how Apple have dealt with UK online customers, I guess I might have a bit of undue entitlement disorder, but I ordered 3 mins after the store came up for me here (Store came back up at 12:10, my order was confirmed by email by 12:13).

Although Apple quoted 7-10 working days for dispatch which was fine and I didn't mind waiting at all for that safe in the knowledge that I'd be one of the first in the UK with an iPhone 5S, Apple will want to ship to their eager online order customers right?

Mean while 7 people in my office of 25 have got a 5S either from their network or from Carphone Warehouse. I felt like a right mug for ordering directly from Apple.

Yesterday at 15:00ish I had enough, Cancelled my Apple order, picked up a 3 pay as you go Sim from town (I'll get it unlocked as others have in this thread before putting my Voda Sim in), put an order on Carphone Warehouse for a Sim Free 32gig space grey. It got delivered this morning 5 mins before I started writing this (I'm in central Birmingham, I assume a DPD route must start near here).

Why the hell can CPW fulfil this order so quick and Apple can't? I think it shows real supply chain from problems at Apple. Yes they may have dispatched in the 7-10 working days window they quoted, but honestly I don't think that you should have to wait 3 weeks buying a phone directly when so many other suppliers seem to have loads of stock.

Selling 9 million phones in a weekend is impressive, but I wonder how many UK cancellations they've had and I imagine theres less margin in a phone sold by CPW than there is in one sold directly.

You upgraded from a 5 to a 5c?

I remember a few people saying their banks tried to block their CPW order mistaking it for fraudelent activity. I just had a similar thing happen with Barclays although they said the fraudulent amount was £7.52 to Apple Luxembourg, I just agreed to it not being fraudelent as I want my phone! Thinking about it though, I don't get why paying £709 to CPW would create this payment. Was this similar for anyone else who had to clear the fraud thing?

I expect mine to prepare for shipment today. If not, I will be complaining to Apple tonight. 7 Business Days Fri, Sat, Mon-Fri - If Apple try to tell me they don't work on a Saturday, I'm calling BS
