Why would that be? I can't imagine it takes very long to make an iPhone so made Monday/Tuesday - boxed and shipped Saturday. Entirely feasible.

Why would that be? I can't imagine it takes very long to make an iPhone so made Monday/Tuesday - boxed and shipped Saturday. Entirely feasible.
It's week 39 currently, the phone is made in week 39, so it was made sometime this week, which we already knew, because if it was made last week they would have shipped it already. I don't think I'm disagreeing with you, just pointing out that it's exactly what you would expect.
I thought somebody already reported this morning that they were told that Regent/Covent Garden wouldn't be getting any tomorrow, infact they don't expect a shipment until Tuesday.

So got my 32GB space grey 5s from Westfield White city absolutely loving it. Given the horror stories I have been hearing I thought the queue was pretty reasonable-not too big and not many dodgy looking folk. Stock was all out by around 11:30am. Given it was a busy saturday I thought that's not too bad. I did find it interesting that the Apple rep just gave me two tickets without even asking, I declined and said I only needed one. I hope they employ some stricter rules next year.
If you are around London and you are happy with a space grey, then I would definitely go to the Westfield stores. They seem to be getting stock daily and good amounts.
I'm off to enjoy my new phone! Best of luck to the rest of you....see you all next year (when I'll be joining the online crew - the retail store circus drove me round the bend!)

I've been following the thread, thanks for all the info. My silver 64gb 5s ordered at 00.03 on launch day changed to preparing to ship sometime between late morning and 3.30pm.
The beige leather cover I ordered at the same time arrived today, one day later than the late end and two days later than the 26th estimate - I hope the phone doesn't follow the same pattern.
I haven't opened the envelope with the case in it and would now prefer a red one - has anyone had any experience of the easiest way to swap?
I'm wondering if I take the unopened envelope to an apple store in London will they let me swap for a red case?
Seems easier than having to post back - I they even allow that.

Ordered the 5s 64gb with Three on Thursday, received it yesterday. Wasn't keen on the space grey at first bum starting to love it more and more.
