I believe that's more of a US thing isn't it? As that's not offered in the UK.

When I had an iPhone delivered by UPS previously, they were quite adamant about the fact that that the phone had to be signed for by the person purchasing it. Deliveries would usually be left with the caretaker at my flat in a secured room, but they aren't allowed to do that with these Apple orders, so luckily I was home.

My wife signed for my 5, I think that was UKMail. I'm getting my 5s delivered at my mothers as I'll be at work, will that be a problem?

No, Apple requires that someone from the actual address sign for it, rather than a neighbour or someone else outside of the house.

That's pretty much what I mean't really, if its clearly your household, its fine for somebody else to sign for it.

Its just that its unlikely UPS will allow you to either leave it outside, with a neighbour, or as I said in my case with somebody who is usually fine to accept packages.

I've had things from Apple delivered to college? My 5S is going to a forwarding service in another country as me so I hope I don't run into any issues.

Phones are expensive and are frequently a target of fraud, so thats why there is usually a caveat on the delivery of such items. Wouldn't be an issue with accessories and stuff.

Ordered 2 16gb phones with Apple and both now show a delivery date of Wednesday 2nd October. Finally. I sold my 5 the day I ordered the 5S so I've been without a phone since then. Can't wait :D

Ordered Friday @ 00:05. Silver 16GB iPhone 5S.

Shipped this morning UK time.

I hope this helps some of the others waiting, don't worry - it'll be on the next flight!

Looks like it was shipped using the UPS "World Ease" product, for quicker / consistent customs clearance. I suspect it's part of a very large order with lots of people's individual orders within it:

Simplify customs clearance by grouping several shipments destined for one country or the entire European Union into a single shipment. This contractual service is available throughout North America and in select countries in Europe, Central and South America, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Each UPS World Ease shipment:

Clears customs as a single unit, reducing documentation and saving time
Provides guaranteed time-in-transit times
Offers detailed tracking visibility for every package in the shipment

My tracking is pretty much identical.

Although they show a Departure Scan, I don't think our orders have actually left yet, and they will probably sit in Shenzhen until Sunday evening. It wouldn't surprise me if the other 'Processing' and 'Preparing' orders change to shipped overnight and then join our orders as they leave China.

Serial numbers are up on Apple profiles people - mine was made week 39 which is week commencing 23rd September so they have been making them like the clappers!

What are Apple Profiles and how do I get to view mine?

I've checked my order status as well as the Apple ID support pages and can't find any information on devices associated with my Apple ID. I'm presuming that somewhere I can see devices purchased that are associated with my Apple ID and therefore can see the week of manufacture there somewhere? It would be interesting to see as mine has shipped already. Then other anxious folks can compare their manufacture week with their order status..

I think you're right that there won't be any movement until Sunday evening -- or Monday morning. It should be quite quick for the consignment to arrive in Europe, possibly checked in as early as Monday afternoon or evening. Onto regional distributors over the next two days and out for delivery from Wednesday to Friday.

I'm on an island, so I'll probably be last to receive on this batch ;)

16gb space grey ordered at 0005 despatched at 1238 today from Shenzhen, China. Expected delivery on the 7th.

Expected delivery date on UPS site is different though. There it says 02/10/13 (expedited), so you may all be getting your new phones sooner than the 7-10 window Apple provided :)

I ordered my iPhone 5S today since i got paid, how long do you think it will take to dispatch? Im thinking mid-late october? Anyone getting their phones earlier?

This is how UPS defines "Departure Scan":
"The shipment has departed a UPS facility and is on its way to the next UPS facility. The shipment is moving; however, there may be several days between scans if the shipment is going cross-country or moving between countries".

So I'm guessing the packages have just left!

Just checked my credit card and apple let go of the holding of funds, yet my order still says processing?

In my experience it doesn't take 2 days to go from Europe to the UK, it normally happens in a day for it to go to the UK and be out for delivery.

I am an international student studying in UK, Sheffield. I moved to Sheffield 2 weeks ago and now has no phone to use for 2 weeks. I'm thinking to buy an iPhone in contract with Three, instead of waiting one from Apple. I ordered a gold 32GB one.

I have asked other mobile phone carriers about buying the phone (i.e. EE) but I'm not able to buy one in contract with a reason that I'm too new to UK (they said). Only Three I can get one.

Is it good to go with Three? I'm not sure about signal quality- 2g, 3G. Many people complain about it. Is there any idea? Please advice. Thx. :):apple:

You'll be fine with Three, no need to worry too much :)
