I believe we will get them on tuesday, if they land tonight in Cologne... Transportation to regional facilities tomorrow and dispatch to clients on Tuesday, it sounds realistic doesn't it? Unless they planned to have them stuck in Cologne tomorrow ...

Cargo capacity of a 747: 100 tons appx
Assume half is iPhones at 0.5kg each
That's 100,000 iPhones on one flight! I think it will take some time to sort through that lot so perhaps it will take until Wednesday still.

We can but hope!

Having been through the same 'Pre-order on launch day' experience with the new iMac last December, I can vouch for the fact that my new iMac was scheduled for delivery on 2nd January ..... and it arrived on 24th December !

So, I know for a fact that the delivery estimates on the Apple Accounts are, what I would say were, 'Worst Case Scenarios'. I fully expect apple to beat those targets for delivery

So keep on checking that Delivery status (as I am doing )

iPhone global demand is in a different league to the iMac demand. Again, last year I received my new iMac precisely when Apple said I would. They said I would receive it on 9th December about 2-3 weeks after I ordered it and it came on the 9th.

Meh, turns out you were wrong. Apple are delivering those 7th-10th October orders 5-8 days early

Worth remembering this time next year when we all do this again :)

Actually, I think today's flight is on a McDonnell-Douglas MD-11F.

..with a main deck volume of 15,530 cubic feet (440 m3), a maximum payload of 200,151 pounds (90,787 kg) and can transport 26 pallets of the same dimensions (88 by 125 inches (2.2 m × 3.2 m) or 96 by 125 inches (2.4 m × 3.2 m).

Is anyone still stuck at preparing for shipment? Mine changed to preparing on Saturday and I can't track by reference in UPS? I still don't get how you guys were doing that :(

Ours have gone to despatched, and based on the times of the arrival and departure scans on the UPS tracking, you can work out which flight they are on.

Thanks sd13 but what I mean is on Friday when you were all on preparing to despatch you could go on to UPS's website and find your tracking number before Apple told you it?

I thought preparing for shipment meant that your phone was build and would ship within hours? How can it get stuck at this stage?

Anyone been to West Quay store Southampton in the last couple of days?

Whats their stocking / restocking like? Any recent experiences there?

I live in a bit of an Apple Store dead zone, and West Quay is my nearest. Thinking of trying it about 10am Monday morning but its a bit of a gamble whether it is worth the effort!

I was there Friday at 840am. Queue of around 20 people when I arrived and wasn't much bigger when I left by 930. They had Space gray in all sizes. They had a delivery Wednesday too. I'd say give them a call Monday morning to see what the deal is, if you can get there for 10am you should be fine.

I wish you luck!

Nope. Tracking details only came up when the status changed to despatched on Saturday.

An African or a European MD11? ;0)

Are you guys sure that the production will stop over the holiday?
Kind of seems like it can't be an option..

Is there any other model that have prepared for shipping today(Australian, US, China etc) or is it no movement anywhere? I really really want my phone this upcoming week:(.

Nope. Tracking details only came up when the status changed to despatched on Saturday.

I'm sure people that hadn't had the Shipped status yet were going on to UPS website and using their Apple order number and finding tracking info
