UK iPhone 5s and 5c Thread

I don't think they would've put 7-10 business days notice if the production was in fact to be halted. They'll probably have holiday workers for extra pay

Don't be surprised if they sit in Germany for a day, my MacBook did exactly that and was delivered on a Wednesday like ups predicted, after dispatching on a saturday and taking a fairly identical route.

I'd be surprised if Apple down tools for a public holiday too. Too much on the line with the new iPhone 5s models rolling out.

I don't recall that. Besides, the orders were only booked with UPS on Saturday so I even if it is possible to track using the Apple order number, I doubt it would have been available during the PFD stage.

My 2012 27inch iMac was also stuck in Cologne for a day. I wonder if the delay is whilst they clear customs?

Yep - has to clear EU customs in Cologne before it can leave. We can be optimistic that this might be fast, though!
 
UPS has details of its operations during the China holiday.

I am in the preparing stage, I have been since yesterday. If you could give me instructions on how to track by reference that would be great! I'm just not sure what number to use as shipping reference?

Goto the UPS site
In the Track by reference, enter your apple order number which starts with a W

Thats it

Thanks for tho info, I have it a go but it says it was unable to track package. I don't get why though because I'm in the preparing for shipment stage?

Did you put it in track by reference rather than track by number?

They may not have logged it with UPS yet. Preparing for shipping means they are taking payment, putting it in a box and then they run it through to UPS and print a shipping label. Its only at that point it will be on the UPS site.

Right now it could be sat in a cardboard box.

Have they taken payment? Check your card and if not then you wont have a UPS number.

Logging the job with UPS is only one part of the preparing stage. If they have not entered it into the UPS worldship system yet, you won't be able to see it.
 
UPS23 seems to be back on flightradar24 :)

Edit: seems to have gone again. :( was just crossing the Black Sea (or something like that) from Turkey if anyone is interested.
 
For anybody who is interested, o2 is not currently 'unlatching' (unlocking) iPhone 5s and 5c. At least that according to the email I have just received from them. No biggie for me as I'm on o2 and about to go to giff gaff, but may influence some decisions.

N259UP (who is operating the flight UPS23 we are watching) was first delivered to Thai Airways in July 1991. It was transferred to UPS in June 2006, and was converted to a freighter.. completed April 2007.

It has the serial number 48417 LN:467, and is powered by 3 x General Electric CF6-80C2D1F engines.

It's currently flying over the Black Sea.
 
Thanks guys it makes total sense about it not being entered iron the UPS network yet, I doubt I will see movement today but china might still be working on Sunday? I wonder if my tracking data will start at china or the UK?

One of my phones has been dispatched and is due to be delivered on the 7th.

The other is still processing and is still estimated to be with me by 7th-10th.

Are you in the UK? No one I know that placed their orders on 20th is getting their's 5-8 days early and I know about 20 people who have ordered.
 
My order changed to 'preparing to dispatch' some time in the early hours of Saturday morning UK time. I was hoping that I'd be in the same boat as you guys who had it dispatched yesterday too, but there's always tomorrow I suppose!

Many have been quoted a 1st or 2nd delivery date, including myself. My delivery is scheduled for Wednesday 2nd, 5 days before Apple quoted.

Yep, mines been preparing for shipment since around 10am on Saturday morning and it's still being prepared for shipment. Hopefully later today or tomorrow it will be shipped and will have it by the end of the week.

I'm with you, changed to preping some time Saturday so hopefully we will be in the same flight, and possibly we could see orders appearing on UPS website today as I'm pretty sure UPS and Foxconn are still working on Sunday. Fingers crossed! Oh, what time did you get your confirmation e-mail? I got mine 0:16 :)

I think we will ship today, I just keep checking UPS website :D what time did you get your confirmation e-mail?
 
Ordered a gold 16gb 5s on 19th at 12:05am and have been getting an estimated shipping date of 7-10th October. Got an email yesterday with despatch information and should be here on Wednesday 2nd, so I'm very happy.
