Still processing 64GB space grey :(

My 64GB space grey is still processing too.

Ordered mine just after being told that there were none left after all the bastard scalpers had blitzed them all at the Oracle Reading on launch day.

Got the order confirmation at 07:15 on the 20th...
Dispatched: 7- 10 business days ; Delivery: 08 Oct, 2013 - 11 Oct, 2013

Doesn't make sense, looks like people who ordered later will be getting their phones about a week before!

Sign inside Bullring saying no phones.

Wondering whether it is worth waiting until they open or not?

I ordered a 64 gold at 0:00 my email says ordered 19thso was one of the first but still no movement looks like gold might be in short supply lost interst now if not changed by later today will cancel and order my new Mac mini instead

I think the UPS tracking is misleading some to think that their phone comes on an individual package carried by UPS straight from factory just like any other parcel.

Unfortunately that's not possible these days, from Jan 1 2013 all electronics with Lithium batteries have strict air shipping regulations, especially in the quantities of the iPhone. These regulations came following the devastating UPS Flight 6 plane crash, which was determined to have been caused by a lithium fire in the cargo.

They must be packaged together in special boxes that ensures greater clearance than normal parcels. Also they're considered HazMat and must be handed as a special case.

Probably why we're seeing delays/warehousing while the shipper consolidates the cargo. They might even need to be carried by truck inside Europe if the smaller planes lack capacity to segregate these shipments and/or the right fire extinguishing equipment.

Another big restriction is that shipments with lithium batteries can't fly on the cargo hold of passenger aircraft, which is typical for shipments in the EU.

If anyone is going to Covent Garden or Regent Street this morning could they let me know if they have any silver 32GB in stock? My wife is so jealous of my new space grey :s

Would it be so much to ask if they do to grab a ticket and I'll be down there in 30 minutes - I'll bring coffee :)

I've been to white city, regent st and covent garden. The only place that had them was covent garden and only 16gb grey. Even though I was told on Saturday they wouldn't be receiving any until Tuesday.

Every line was full of scalpers pushing in and being generally rude.

I've just seen a guy pick up 2 64GB grey so the Apple staff member lied when she said they only had 16GB

Starting to lose interest too. Thinking of just saving my £709 and keep my current iphone!

No stores will probably see stock until Tuesday because the flights we've all been tracking are the same ones carrying the store stock :)
