What surprises me is that they have shipped 16GB golds, but not 32GB or 64GB which are higher margin. You would have thought they would have done it the other way round.

I have been following this thread from the start. And finally im now a member of this amazing forum!

As many of you, im waiting for my 32GB GOLD, still in step #2 "Processing Item" my other order, 16GB GOLD, i dispatched allready though.... But that's not mine, mine is the 32GB.....

Has anyone with 32GB/64gb GOLD changed status from "Processing Items2?

Some have yes but the majority of the gold are still waiting and most likely will be until the estimated delivery date. Gold is one of the most popular colours. Dont forget, in China gold is likely to be the only colour people want, its a huge market and one Apple is keen to keep happy.

Any gold rolling off the production line will no doubt be on their way to the chinese carriers.

Job done. Three have now unlocked my CPW 5S as of this morning.

Overall, paid the same price as retail and now the phone has been unlocked by Apple servers. Granted it cost £15 but still...Happy Days :D

Meanwhile Apple order was still 14 days out.

Good luck to everyone else.

Finally bit the bullet and went to CPW and managed to pick up a SIM free 5S Grey. Those of you willing to wait for your deliveries are more patient than I!

One question about the Three unlocking trick, if the SIM I intend to use after unlocking is a Three SIM on a rolling contract anyway, do I still have to buy and use a PAYG Three SIM separately?

It does seem unfair that it's not on a first come first served basis. My order @12.05 admittedly for a 64GB Gold hasn't moved from processing. I know the gold's are in short supply but if I would have known that ordering a different colour would have got me the phone sooner I wouldn't have chosen the Gold model bearing in mind all colours and storage were all the same dispatch/lead times...grrr Patience is a virtue that I don't possess.

I be quick walking to china to pick up my gold iphone at this rate.

anyone at all with 32GB Gold moved from processing?

I've not seen anyone's 32GB Gold order move on from processing yet? .. mine was 12.02am .. la la la .. was really hoping for something today but so far nothing at all :(

Yes, there is a delay on unlocking with a contract sim. I think it's 30 days before you can request. If you intend using Three you could always just start using it and then request the unlock in a month. It'll still cost £15 though so won't save anything.

I reckon they might move them from Cologne to here today. There's no real reason to keep them there unless there's no available cargo space. Would make more sense to send them and have one extra day flexibility in delivering.

Have to say, first impressions with the 5s are good!

Coming from a 3gs, the retina screen is amazing. First thing I noticed though is how light the phone is! Far lighter than the 3gs.

O2 sim swap happened almost immediately once I did it via the text message method. For some reason the web page method refused to take my nano sim card number.

Immediately turned off the parallax on the home screen - makes me feel a bit weird. No need for it.

Speed, this thing flies!

Tried out the gyro/level. Shows 1 degree, but I don't think my desk is level so i'll have to retest this. However, I don't think mine is one of the -6 "faulty" models.

Fingerprint reader works great :)

Will post more as I use it

Or they are waiting for more deliveries from China to make the travel worth while. The large plane load it started with may be less now they have taken the European deliveries out.

That says 6 days unless I'm reading it wrong? Where does that say 1 flight a week?

Well it appears they don't have a Sunday flight from Cologne to EMA, so that may be why our phones are still in Germany. Either that or they're wanting to combine two shipments arriving from China. I think some people had a Tuesday delivery estimate, which would support them leaving Germany tonight.

I phoned up Festival Place in Basingstoke and they said they have sold out of 5S's and don't know when they will get more in as they don't know until they receive deliveries themselves, the guy did say though they get deliveries most days and it's best to ring up to see if they have any in the morning.

I asked about 5c's and he said they have plenty of those.

Same location but mine is at Destination Scan. Would be nice to get it today but no biggie if it's tomorrow. I just hope Apple won't have a problem giving it to Parcel Motel.

I don't understand why yours was shipped over to the UK last night and everyone else's is still in Germany? Did you pay for faster shipping or something?

While they are a higher profit margin, I would imagine that both Apple and the Networks shift more 16GB phones than the higher capacity models. Thus they are going to build greater stocks of those.

I think thats one likely explanation as to why 16GB Golds are shipping, but not the higher capacities, as also with many of the silver.

Thinking of doing the same!

It seems the Northern Ireland phones went last night. I got mine delivered to work at 11am this morning.

didn't pay for faster shipping.
