The phone is the same price as Apple. You have to buy a 3 payg sim (£15) and get it unlocked for £15. But i've lined up on launch day, been every day this week at 7am to Regent St, Covent Garden and Westfield without luck so I'm happy to pay £30 extra.

Just tried this at the Brunswick Centre Three store with no luck. They had the phones but said they couldn't "afford" to sell PAYG with the current low stock.
 
how long did it take peoples orders to change from "preparing to dispatch" to "dispatched?" mines just changed to preparing to dispatch yday... 32gb white one

They aren't going to discuss a business contract with a customer (who isn't you).

I get the impression from some sites that the 1st is the big day and start of the holiday, but the entire week isn't observed by everyone. That would explain why UPS only shuts down for three days, so it could be worse!
 
I have to wait for another couple of hours to get mine. Because we have a UPS pickup at my workplace, they often deliver packages during the pickup and nothing came this morning.

I can't believe I'm actually moaning about this, what with all the others with phones still a few days/weeks away.
 
mine still hasn't arrived. it said it was out for delivery this morning. I know it can come upto 7PM, but cmon UPS!!!!!

theres NO ups flight for cologne via dubai tomorrow, but on the 3rd.

sucks because the 3rd is a official holiday in germany..i still think we wont get them before monday, if they havent been on the flight this morning at 6:45am (we could however still get a status update in the next 2 hours or so) :-/
 
woohoo, my Grey 5s has arrived one day earlier than scheduled. The UPS tracking info is a bit crap though, as there's no info after it arrived in Manchester and now it says it's been delivered in 'Northampton' (I'm in Cambridge!)

I started the process off in store by calling 3 to register the PAYG sim, then they put you through to the unlock department which is an automated service. You type in the phones IMEI number and then you have to wait for 3 to call you back so you can pay the £15. It could take 24 hours for them to call.

They were very helpful in store and will take you through the process.

Once unlocked it is unlocked forever. Just like buying an unlocked phone from Apple.

I think they send the request to Apple who deal with the actual unlocking of the IMEI number. I could be wrong on that though.

Nope, you're correct :)

So if something were (God forbid) to go wrong with your iPhone – can you take it to an Apple store, or do you have to go via Three? This is something I've always been confused about...

Could I just walk into a Three store, buy a Pay&Go SIM and 5S, put my current "rolling plan" Three SIM in it, and request an unlock the same day? Fortunately I'm already on Three, with a custom one of their 30-day plans.

Your in the same batch as me if I remember correctly, and that would mean that you and me were most probbably on the flight that just landed in Dubai, so we should see an arrival scan within 30 min or so :D
 
Now the time of the departure in Hong Kong also changed...
What are they doing?
