D'oh!!! That's teach me for not confirming the price before hitting submit!!! I just presumed they were the same price everywhere.

That is very very cheeky of them, I may have to call them to try and get a £50 refund! Do you have a link to anyone who has managed that?
 
CPW also have stock, but again, they will not sell Pay and Go or SIM-free unless you buy the 64gb model. Cheeky.

All this wasted stock.........

They are being very cheeky - picked up my phone from a three store as PAYG - there is no difference with the phones, only a different sim. Be polite but firm that they do sell PAYG, and use the website to convince them if necessary.

The package was missed at the UPS facility, UPS will deliver on the next business day.
 
UPS managed to put it on the wrong truck, woohoo. After a bit of persuasion I was able to collect it from the depot (without a card, just a driving licence)

Mine too. Says out for delivery today, but failed to deliver!

Same, I wonder if our phones really haven't left Dubai? Maybe we never got an arrival scan at Dubai as they were left on the flight 5X3 that was scheduled to stop at Dubai then Cologne from Hong Kong? It's very close to landing at Germany so maybe it will jump to Germany? (Wishfull thinking? :p)

lol @ wishful thinking. i don't think that is going to happen :/ i hope they land dubai soon.

the flight you are looking at is basically from Dubai to Cologne. our phones didnt make it to dubai yet :S

I called up two 3 stores today - both had stock of the 32GB space grey but told me (very politely, it has to be said) that Apple would not allow them to sell the phones on PAYG or SIM free for the first few weeks.

I don't know whether this is true or it's just that they would prefer to tie customers into contracts (fair enough I suppose), but if seems ridiculous that 3 have stock just sitting there whilst people are queuing outside the Apple Stores in Central London every morning.

You would have thought that given the massive stock shortage Apple would want to look after their own stores first and foremost.

According to tracking, mine's been in Cologne for 25 hours now.

To answer a previous poster's comments asking whether it's possible to have the tracking show it's last update in Germany one day followed by delivery in the UK the next - yes it is. Some folks on this thread have a status just like that.

She got the phone out, told me I could unlock it – but I said I'm only buying if it's PAYG and she said they can't sell PAYG until XXXX date (can't remember, sorry!). She directed me to CPW, where they gave me the same story – except I could buy SIM-free 64gb (which they didn't have in stock).

I'm kind of torn between if they were lying or not...I mean, I was willing to spend £630 there and then, but they both turned me away without hesitation.

I got told that today at Liverpool Street 3 store. What's painful is that she got the freshly wrapped box out and showed me. It was there for the taking...if I signed my life away for 2 years. Never, ever am I signing a phone contract.

You aren't on a priority level of service though.

Couriers make their money from business pickups which they will then schedule drop offs of deliveries to customers around. It if was a timed delivery service that had been paid for with a set day for delivery then you would be right to be up in arms about it, however its not. At the end of the day, you are still way ahead of the delivery estimate Apple initially gave, so its still pretty good.

I would also imagine UPS haven't even got anywhere near to the bulk of deliveries they will be carrying to peoples homes given that most are still in China for this launch.

UPS 5X3 left Hong Kong stopped at Dubai and continued on to cologne, well I thought it did? How can I send a screenshot? Sorry I'm being a newbie at a critical moment! ;) haha
