UK iPhone 5s and 5c Thread

Still in Germany, but to be delivered by tomorrow, apparently.

I don't doubt UPS, but to get from Germany to my front door overnight is quite ambitious!

As the contract, particularly for the 64GB is far, far more expensive than getting it PAYG and then the one plan for £15/mo, I suspect they just want the extra commission. I'm not the only one here who has been able to get a PAYG 5S from them.

FWIW, I bought mine from Westfield White City on Thursday night. I'm at the end of a two year contact, so I guess you could say that I am in 'good standing'. I also signed up to a one year sim-only contract, but I don't think that any of that mattered in the slightest. If I were you, I would ask why you are being treated less fairly than I was, speak to a manager, be polite, but get a straight answer. If they have changed their rules again in the past few days, then so be it.

They were lying, plain and simple, they make more by selling on contract. Odds are, the decision not to sell was made at store or regional level. Apple couldn't care how a third party retailer sells stock.

Sounds like it. To be honest I think that's fair enough - where there is limited stock the store should be within their rights to sell the phone on the plan that will earn them the most money. Just don't see why they can't make that clear rather than blaming Apple.

Guess I'll be waiting outside the Regent Street store again tomorrow morning then...
 
Is this fraud?

So glad I was able to contribute towards Apple's third quarter revenue figures.

I believe the reason the support website is down is because otherwise we would be able to see that Apple has charged us for an iPhone that does not actually exist.

Disparate times calls for desperate measures!

I bet you that the support website does not return until Thursday at the earliest.

Shame on you Apple.

Yeah, looking at the times I would put a fiver on that being the plane.... But maybe wrong.

It is landing about now... So we will see soonish, if they are scanned in Germany

What was your last scan? Mine was Hong Kong departure at 9:10PM, I'm just hoping that they decided to not scan all the pallets at Dubai and put them straight onto this flight :)

Hi my phones been preparing for dispatch for over 24 hours now. Do you think there's a chance my phones actually dispatched and it just hasn't been updated?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but no, they would give you a tracking number if it had of left....have you tried the ups tracking trick with your reference ?

The Mrs found out I've been tracking planes!!! Not sure how I'm gonna make her think I'm not a phone geek anymore lol!

Yeah your 'W' number....got to UPS website and track by reference, if apple have sent pre shipping info to UPS it will come up...good luck!
 
Does anyone know when payment should be taken? My phone was dispatched on Sunday and when I checked my credit card account, the £709 was showing as pending, which barclaycard say means that they've authorised payment and it should go through in a couple of days.

But now it says that there's a payment of £509 pending instead! Bit random?

Haha, I have been on MacRumors during the day and I've had friends suspiciously ask me why i cant put my phone down, sooner or later I'm gonna be caught ;)
 
Mine got delivered about 20 past 5 this afternoon. Super pleased with the Gold model, the colour is fantastic.

And just in case anyone was wondering, the invisible shield that is designed for the iPhone 5 fits the 5S perfectly. I was afraid the home button might cause issues but it sits nicely in the middle of the opening :)

I hope everyone else gets their idevices soon!

Yeah when I got busted I felt like I had done something majorly wrong but then I remembered I was looking at internet sites I won't get in trouble for LOL!

Ahh thats great! I was unsure how the Touch ID sensor would be affected by invisible shield, just what i needed to hear, thanks daijholt :)
