i dont think that is going to happen. as i said its their holiday tomorrow.

I honestly think UPS would take that into account when giving us our estimated date, I'm sure as soon as they have our phones they know exactly what route it will take but i suppose only time will tell :)

lets hope so. they deliver on 4th october.

Yes. I've used Personal Hotspot with Bluetooth and wifi a few times to get connectivity on my iPad. They could turn it off with a future profile update at any time I guess.

Yeah I am a bit wary because it's against the terms.

Maybe a noob q but when you are on a one month rolling contract can they change the price of the plan? Say I went for ultimate internet 200, could they increase the price at any time or is the price you agree to initially for good?

Sounds good.
I've just ordered a free Three PAYG SIM to try it out before going on a monthly contract.

After a poor experience switching to EE earlier this year, I would definitely recommend trying a PAYG SIM before committing to switching to any different network. The coverage maps are all very well, but don't always reflect the reality accurately enough. Three has been great for me so far though.

No price is forever. Even with 12/18/24 month contracts the payment can increase mid-term if the operator decides to change it, provided the increase is within certain limits regulated by OFCOM. At least it's a 30 day contract so you can easily get out of it.

It will definitely be interesting to see what happens tomorrow as we are getting close to our delivery date, once in he UK things will have to move fast, normally my phones ship from East Midlands as their origin and it takes 3 days on UPS Standard so even if the phone is here tomorrow it will have to make it to my house in record time! :D

See I get confused when I see all these people on legacy O2 contracts with unlimited data. Thanks for confirming my suspicions. I actually had a couple of family members affected by mid contract price increases last year.

Now thinking I'll go with the one plan 12 month contract. Only an extra £25 over the year compared to the £12.90 one and I'm covered for tethering and if there is a price increase it won't be significant. Shame they stopped offering cashback.

The global economy would not work properly if ALL planes and ALL freight would be grounded for public holidays. Hardly any two countries have the same holidays, the global economy would suffer if EVERYTHING comes to a halt during bank holidays. They might slow things to a certain degree, but not halt them. If nobody would work on bank holidays, you would not want to be involved in an accident on a bank holiday. The policemen that should secure the area would be sunbathing in spain, your ambulance drivers be drunk, and the doctors high on heroin.

Do you reckon we will see any change tonight? I was hoping for a surprise like last night when we hit Anchorage :)

Yeah there are another two UPS planes landing in cologne tonight so keep the faith mate

Oh are there? I dropped the ball on that one, to busy watching the people that should be delivering my phone dancing in Chicago! lol What airports are they coming from?

Just because its a holiday in Germany doesn't mean that the whole country will come to stand still. Things don't work that way. The likely hood is that certain services apart from the emergency and medical ones will be running. Its likely that UPS will still be running its services and deliveries will carry on as normal. Of course I could be wrong but I suspect not.

I think I'm in the same boat as a lot of people in that I haven't had an Anchorage departure scan or a Cologne arrival scan, but under 'last location' it does say Cologne. Who was it who said that once in Europe the tracking can be a bit off? On the basis of that I'm hoping that our phones are either already in Cologne or are very close and just haven't been updated yet!

I don't remember who said an import scan in Germany doesn't mean the package is actually there. From my tracking it says my phone departed Anchorage on 01/10/13 at 15:57. The import scan in Germany is for 02/10/13 at 4:14. The last location is showing as Cologne today Wednesday 02/10/13. From that I would infer the phone is already in Germany. Hopefully it will leave Germany sometime tonight or tomorrow. The flight from Cologne to the UK is around 1 hour 20 minutes if I recall from my trip there back in August.

It quite likely possible those phones in Cologne will reach the UK by tomorrow. Of they do they should be out for delivery on Friday. That said my screen protector that I ordered from Amazon is due for deliver between Friday and Monday so if my phone arrives before that then I won't be able to use it anyway.

I'm like you, I hate not having the case and screen protector on my new iToy luckily my case came Tuesday, hopefully you will be getting two things on Friday!
:)

So my phone status hit 'Import Scan' at 5:23am in Koeln, any chance this may fly to UK tonight?
