We will all soon get our iPhones and I will actually miss this thread in a way (I won't be missing the 'endless waiting' for the iPhone). Some people (like Copperrick) dedicated so much time in researching and have kindly shared their theories and findings. It is even better than watching some crime drama on the telly. Seeing how many posts this thread has it is quite clear that Britain is quite iPhone obsessed. So I am looking forward to the next iPhone release.

I totally agree! I bet next year we will see some familiar names! :)

I didn't think O2 offered 30 day contracts on 4G yet?

Sorry, quoted wrong post

----------

So who's upgrading to 4G for their new 5s and what operator/tariff are you going with?

O2, EE and VF all seem to be charging £10-20 extra per month to comparable 3G tariffs and Three are saying there will be no premium for 4G.

Might go on a 30-day contract SIM from O2 just to see what 4G can do and then decide in December when Three's 4G goes live (in 3-4 places in UK at least).

Matt

3 have a sim only, one month rolling contract for £12.90.
Includes:
200 minutes
5000 texts
UNLIMITED internet.

Best bit is that they actually mean unlimited (almost, the cap is 1000GB, essentially unlimited). Also, 4G is at no extra cost, just check their coverage for your area, should be either this december or sometime next year.

^^My contract of choice^^

Ah, yeah the store I went to had absolutely no stock of silver or gold. The silver is nice, but I've spent a year with a white phone (S3) and have always wished I could have got a black one - not available at the time I got this.

I got a black 5 last year and sort of wished afterwards that I got white but now am glad I didn't as at least the gold will look quite different. Think I have more or less been alternating between black and white since 1st iPhone (didn't get a 3g).

Hmm this or the one plan. Do I need tethering that is the question!

I actually don't really want to move from O2, mainly because I like the O2 Moments and some of the benefits they bring with sports and things I like.

I regretted leaving O2 last year as O2 moments was good (liked the Yo Sushi discount :D) plus I hated not having visual voicemail til Orange eventually introduced it (I only realised last month that they had )

I changed for the option of having 4G but then decided not too bother because if the extra cost and contract extension required

when CPW says expected delivery by 9th october, is there a chance it might arrive earlier? it's the first time i order from them, so not sure how efficient they are with timing

If they say they're expecting stock I would believe it. They admitted to me that the dates change even if you order when it has any specific date. I'd be inclined to not cancel the apple one until you actually have the CPW one.

Also, as has been mentioned many times here, the CPW phones are not unlocked. They will lock to the first network card you put in. Thy are also charging a £50 premium I think for their phones - it wasn't showing for people until the checkout stage!

Good luck with it all, whatever you decide. :)

Tethering works on the £12.90 a month deal. I've used it a few times at work. If I was using it regularly I would do the One plan instead though.

Handy to know. So the tethering option appears in the settings as it would if you had the one plan?

aw thank you! yes i have been waiting since the 21st lol, i'm not cancelling anything till i have an actual iPhone in my hands haha. So are you saying they could deliver after their promised date as well as before? Or am i defo guaranteed it no later by the date set? I was a bit cheeky and decided to go for the gold 64GB (apple one is 32 GB), so they didn't charge me £50! :) and yeah i'm fine with being locked on EE for 6 months ;)

O2 usually unlock iPhones for pay monthly customers. I asked O2 to unlock my CPW purchased iPhone 5S but they wrote back and said they were not unlocking 5C/5S at the moment. I referred them to their website and they agreed to unlock it within 72 hours. I'm at 48 hours at the moment so will wait and see.

Interesting! Do let us know what happens....

16gb Silver in Leeds tomorrow

I'm returning my 5s Silver 16gb to the Leeds Apple store tomorrow around lunch time. Its unopened. If anyone is after one hopefully Apple can sell you it soon after I return it.

:( They haven't provided any information about where to collect. Also I'm working...

YOUR UPS depot mentioned in the tracking and you can find the address easily via Google
All UPS depots open till 20:00 !!!!

Unfortunately Apple will not be able to resell it straight away
So, if anyone here need it its better to do a private sale with him

Yes. I've used Personal Hotspot with Bluetooth and wifi a few times to get connectivity on my iPad. They could turn it off with a future profile update at any time I guess.

I just re-read my post lol I'm so sorry I meant to say that I WOULDN'T really believe it!! I did actually manage to get them on the phone and he straight up admitted they have no idea when they're getting stock they just hope it'll be around the dates they post online!
I did have an order with them but cancelled it when I realised Apple where going to sort it out quicker than them.
I'm usually very down on CPW but this time I admit the guy was very pleasant and more than happy for me to cancel my order when it wasn't going to be here.
Sorry for the misunderstanding!

203 doesnt have anything related to us :/ the tracking page shows phones are still in Cologne.

Mine is still in Köln/Cologne, and my hopes of it arriving in time for delivery on Friday are dwindling. I was planning on spending the weekend filming slo-mo videos, taking pictures in poor light conditions, and using all sorts of body parts to trick Touch ID, what am I going to do now?
Oooh the love and hate for waiting.......

As long as UPS gets them to the UK by tomorrow night we will be ok for friday, they are just building tension! ;)

Sounds good.
I've just ordered a free Three PAYG SIM to try it out before going on a monthly contract.
