Has anyone picked up any gold 5s from any manchester stores so far this week?

Thinking of queuing up in the morning!

Yes, earlier on around 3pm there was a short period of time where the order page said, "preparing final handover to carrier". Now its back to 'In Transit - On time', but the next destination is definitely to us.

Good luck! Been Trafford 3 x since launch and queued, same scalpers there every time. They get there around 3 - 4am, the exact same guys. They buy up all the stock, one guy walks up the queue with the Apple employee telling him what tickets to give which person and gives them the money to buy the phones also. Absolutely disgusting, one guy in the queue complained and the Apple guy told him that if he carries on then he would take the reservation card he's just game him off him. Shocking!

Ordered a iPhone 5s 32GB Gold on 23 September but I'm still stuck on "Processing Items - Dispatched: October" :( I hate this meaningless status...give me an expected date guys.

I ordered the same size and colors and on the same date as yours. I hate that status too. They should know the estimated date of dispatch (yes I know the phone is popular).

I have read here that some people here, ordered a 64 gold, their status is still "Processing items".. Sick and tired of this waiting game.

It was disgusting mate, they shouldn't be allowed to do it. It's obvious they aren't genuine customers when they are there everyday and then the one guy going up the queue with the Apple employee giving orders on which cards to give which people and then giving them the money too, I told him the last time I was there I got offered a reservation card for £200 and he just said what evidence did I have. Felt like punching his head in

they are all mates in on it together probably even store manager. shocking.
 
Ordered a 16GB Silver 5S on 25th September. Still at processing. If that lead time was to continue on sales made today that would make "dispatch: October" seem a tad optimistic. Surely things need to start speeding up now that the majority of the day 1 sales are processed?

China had a weeks holiday ended yesterday so maybe things will move soon, I ordered a silver for the girlf this morning and it still says ships in October. october 31st probably :)

I've queued up 5 times since launch, without luck because of all the scalpers at arndale! And I swore everytime I won't do it again because of the scrapers there! Last time when I was there, an English student, queued up from 2 in the morning, I'm Asian myself, but when the doors opened they all jumped the que and left the poor guy at the back, along with some Chinese guys, I went mental on them!! Made sure they were at the top of the que, but unlucky for as, they had no delivery that day, they even said to me get two tickets as I only wanted one, I said no chance in hell!

If anything like that happens again, I'm calling the UK border agency because I know for a fact, most of them are illegally here!!

If you're there again and the same thing happens, video it and send it to Apple Corporate.
 
Hi I received my 32GB space grey today from carphone warehouse. Now as it locks to the first sim used would I still be able to use both a giff gaff sim and an o2 Sim as they both run on the o2 network?

Yep, any phone locked to O2 can also be used for giff gaff :).

Rang Customer Service today , complete waste of time as usual . They've obviously been told to sing the same song . All these horror stories about the qs just make it more infuriating to be still waiting on a Gold 64gb 5s ordered on launch day morning !

Apple's silence on the matter is even more insulting ....

They implied It wouldn't get posted till I sent mine back but no one has phoned or emailed me.
The phone is there with a ridiculous and frustrating wait time 18-22 October. They said to me 5 days. Not very happy at all.

In the past I have always got through to very friendly American help lines. This time they could barely speak English and had to repeat my problem to 3 separate people, and it took an entire hour to sort out. And they were very unfriendly. Worst apple service I've had in the last 10 years (10 iPhones, 4 macs, 3 iPads, 5 iPods....)

Oh that's not good. It wasn't that simple for me either though everyone I spoke to was clearly trying to help.

First I went to the apple support website and initiated a chat. She told me that she wouldn't be able to deal with the issue directly so would arrange for the senior advisor team to call.

They called while I was still in the chat but I wasn't put through to the senior advisor team. I presume the lady I spoke to there was a regular AppleCare advisor. She said that I would need to speak to aftersales and was about to put me through when she noticed the notes from the chat.

So instead she put me through to this guy in the senior advisor team(Ireland). He told me he was going to take ownership of the case until its resolution but then he put me through to aftersales. So that step was a bit of a waste of time but I do have his phone number and he said to call if I have any issues.

So then I spoke to an American lady (but who's to say she's not based in Ireland) who set up the replacement. She said the courier would call to arrange pickup within 48 hours and then once the phone was received they would send the new one out within 3-5 days. This person works in apple distribution international according to her email sig, not sure if that gives a clue as to where she's based.

I contacted aftersales directly today to ask if I can keep the old phone until I receive the replacement and was told yes and that I should arrange the return of the defective unit once I receive new one.
 
Mine came last Friday and I couldn't be happier :) I have one of the first iPhone 5Ses in the country and its an amazing phone :) Good luck guys!
 
I dont get this - I ordered a gold 16gb yesterday and the dispatch estimate was 'October'. And thats the same estimate for people that ordered one on the 20th about 3 weeks ago? so was there any point in ordering so early as there both the same dispatch
 
Yes week 39 Gold 64GB - 0 degrees on all sides :) - the only thing wrong with the phone is the sleep button is slightly loose and rattles but I deffo won't take it back for that considering I may have one of few 5S's with working sensors!

For the people who says the problem happens when phone is flat I have the photo of it flat too - just to prove that at least one iPhone 5S does work!
