The guy in the factory putting it in the box dropped it on the floor, so you go back to the end of the queue.
If this is the case, I'm gonna start a civil war when I go back to China this December.

Wouldn't the handset have to be 'activated' before Three (or anyone else) can unlock it? If so, that means powering it up and putting a sim in sooner rather than later surely.

You will never guess what!
IT'S GONE BACK TO PREPARING FOR DISPATCH.
What the hell is going wrong.
This is the most unorganised order I have ever been involved in.
Yeah, this was my only concern with regards to the method I posted on the previous page. I fear you might be right.
Go to ups website and track using reference. The reference is your apple order number. It may appear on their system before the apple order status page updates to dispatched.
Tried it. Nothing.![]()
I'm not sure that 'activating' the phone has anything to do with the unlocking process. It's the IMEI that's unique and it's used for identifying the device.
Also on the unlock form only the IMEI is required.
There's no mention anywhere that the phone should be operating or anything...
But maybe I'm wrong...

I ordered my iphone 5s gold 32gb at 9.30am on 20 September. My order status is just stuck on processing. Losing patience and wondering if anyone else ordered around the same time as me. Checking my online status every 10 minutes now and becoming slightly obsessed.![]()

LOL. I am telephoning Apple every day which only serves to wind me up really. The Customer Service people are very nice and polite but just wish they could actually give some information. If I was told an actual date in "October", I could deal with that and work towards it. The unknown is just awful. I have no phone at the moment as I sold my iphone 4s (got an offer too good to turn down) and honestly never thought Apple would do this to me. They better hurry up.
I live in Portugal. Have a friend living in UK, and asked her to order 2 16gb white Silver 5s's. She ordered on 22nd of september and been here watching this post every day about 20 times a day hehe. Still no progress.
Today Apple announced that on the 28th october the iPhone will be available in Portugal. My god. Almost 3 weeks and still nothing. So many ppl still waiting for their iphones and so many countries will get them this month.
I wont cancel the order for 2 reasons. First i dont want to go to a line full of people and risk not having it in stock. When i bought the 3GS it was march and it was still out of stock since january here in Portugal.
Second reason is the price. Here in Portugal It will cost around 699 locked and 799 unlocked. So i will save at least 50 in each one.
Hope Apple ships a lot of iphones to us before those countries hehe
As one of the midnight launch purchasers who only received their phone this week! I was glad to receive a survey from Apple asking about the delivery and order etc. I made sure to tell them how bad this launch has been for online customers. If everyone recounts their experience, then it might be better next time...
I could be wrong too, but doesn't the phone only lock to a network when the first sim is inserted? Until this happens Apple won't know which network the phone is locked to, so would they process an unlock request from any provider? Also would it be listed in Apple's locked database before locking to a network? Maybe the unlock command would only work if the phone is listed as locked?
I don't know but they are just thoughts that occurred to me while reading this thread.
