My replacement which shipped on Wednesday is now in Germany with expected delivery Monday. Once I get it I will contact TNT to arrange return of the defective original.

FlexPen- I was told the same information on Monday but called them back the next day to clarify whether I could keep the original for now. Was told yes and then later that day it went to preparing for dispatch. I don't know whether the replacement was originally set up this way by the American lady I spoke to or whether something was changed on Tuesday. Does your replacement appear on the order status.

Scottish, thanks for the update. My order shows as processing but it has a delivers by date. I don't expect it to change until they get my original back. I wish I'd had the foresight to say I'd keep it till the new one arrives, but you live and learn.

It's not so much getting a refurb model (if that's the case) more that I don't have lightning cables and a charger to charge it with if I do get a white box only. Part of the cost price is packaging and the accessories, all of which I no longer have! I'd like to think returning the phone after 1 day gets me a new retail unit. Have to wait and see. Will be interesting to see how your replacement arrives - white box only or full new retail.

I just ended up going to the Apple Store and buying a new one. I'll just return the faulty one and get the money back

Unfortunately I had to get the 64GB rather than the 32GB and in Space Grey as no 32s in stock but oh well, I don't mind too much.

Couldn't find a number for store support, kept getting re-directed to AppleCare. What is the number may I ask?

The number for Apple Store Customer Service is 0845 600 1683 but if you want to avoid the cost of an 0845 call, use the Sales number 0800 048 0408 and you get the same menu.

What number have you been using?

It has been confirmed to me that I am getting a new retail and the fact it has shipped from China confirms this. Since your replacement is appearing in the online store you will also be getting a retail unit. I have no doubt about this. What date is showing for delivers by?

Just noticed this but my 5s went from and estimated delivery of Oct 21 to Oct 16... Wow.

I really hope that's not the case. I was told by the apple rep to send back everything. Box, charger, cables , phone which I've done. If I just get a phone in a white box there will be hell to pay.

@londongooner UPS picked mine up in Thursday. Was told the replacement would be dispatched whenever they received the old one back. So as they have yet to receive it (looks like it'll be Monday) I don't expect it to start shipping till next week. Currently it's got a dispatch estimate of 18 - 22 Oct. what happened with scottish phone?

Yeah I'm im exactly the same boat. Rather annoying apple rep said id get it this Monday which was blatantly false
 
Last year I had around 5 iPhone 5 with dead pixels took me around one month for a good one. Hope you receive a good one soon.

Here's what happened:

Bought iPhone from Apple Online Store: dead pixel. Told that I would get a 'new' replacement (i.e. new phone but no box, etc.). I didn't want this, I wanted a whole new phone. Therefore: went to Apple RETAIL store and purchased (at my own expense because Apple don't provide a quick link to after sales support - not AppleCare) a NEW 64GB space gray iPhone 5s. I had to pay more as they only had 64GB in stock. Okay fine. This one has a dead pixel too. It's utterly ridiculous!

Does any one have a number for Apple Store support?

Apple's quality control really seems to have gone to ****! I have had my iPhone 4S replaced a few times for various issues and the screen has always been immaculate.

Okay, sure it is a 'tiny' pixel, but for £600-£750, it should be PERFECT.

so the Flight to Dubai has departed, does it take a few mins for UPS to update the scan? I will be annoyed if it isn't on this flight

It better be lol. I might call apple tomorrow and just give them a piece of my mind. Been the worst delivery experience ever. I hope they bring back the pre-orders next year. From queuing the first day in the early morning in front of those blatant scalpers to waiting THREE WEEKS for a phone I ordered almost on launch day (21st am), costing over £600. They've taken the piss this year, probably to put impatient people off it and make them buy the 5c.

Haha, I couldn't agree more! It's been a shambles. I reckon you could be right on the 5C front, shame it hasn't really worked though :)
