Hopefully, the late (or early perhaps) time will be off putting other than for us hardcore :D

I've no doubt we'll get to place the order, but it's the availability

Lol yea hopeful yea will be the keen ones and others will wait until later in the day :D an yea the availability is what's concerning. And how long before we get one delivered right into our :apple: hands :)

I was just gonna order a sim free 5s tonight but I've decided I really wanna upgrade to 4g. So I'll be calling T-mobile in the morning to try and sort that out. I hope it won't similar to when the 4s came out I was on the phone for 3 hours to O2. But they are useless anyway.

Anyone else calling their provider in the morning?

For those buying sim free

4G Sim-only deals

EE 4G 1Gb Data (unlimited calls/texts) £16 + £33 Quidco = £13.25 per month x 12 months
EE 4G 3Gb Data (unlimited calls/texts) £21 + £33 Quidco = £18.25 per month x 12 months

Vodafone 4G 2Gb Data (unlimited calls/texts) £26 + £130 Quidco = £15.17 per month x 12 months
Vodafone 4G 4Gb Data (unlimited calls/texts) £31 + £130 Quidco = £20.17 per month x 12 months

O2 - 4G Sim-only not available for iPhone!

3 - too awful to even consider whatever the cost

* beware the very limited coverage of 4G in the UK

EE's pricing doesn't make much sense once you start to get into the higher GB bands.

I'm looking to get the 10GB on contract, £46 a month plus £249 for the phone. (24 months). Sim only is £41 for 8GB, so it works out about £340 cheaper to go on contract.

that's obviously your opinion... :D

I actually get really good 3 coverage on 3G and have unlimited data..
Plus our city of due to get 4G at no extra cost Q1 2014...

3 seem to have the widest range of good & bad experiences... I'm in a civilised part of London and the signal well & truly sucks balls. I have to walk 100m down the road just to pick it up. I'd imagine people who live in Timbuktu get better coverage than what 3 gives me here. I have a payg 3 sim that I pop in once in a while to see if it ever improves but nooooo, it's always *****.

Those EE prices are only valid for another week or so, then they go up by £10, back to what they always were...

yep thats what my local Three store has just told me. £99 for the phone and then £41,£46 or £51 depending on whether its a 16/32/64 gb. Looks like its a swap from my current £35 a month 4S one plan to a £15 sim only one plan and buying the phone online

Ah yes £99. I did wonder if £100 was just him rounding up. Interesting change going from varying the upfront cost to varying the cost of the tariff.

It's a shame the price has gone up so much compared to last year but it makes the decision easy for me and I'll be doing the same as you.

Here is details of Three's One Plan for the iPhone 5s. This from my local store who had just received pricing.

16GB
£41/month
£100 upfront

32GB
£46/month
£100 upfront

64GB
£51/month
£100 upfront

Existing customers option - which is actually a worse deal than the one above. Only know 32GB price..
£53/month
£0 upfront

ouch that's just killed any lingering thoughts of me upgrading early. 3 blew the other networks away with their plans for the 5, but these are rubbish! I have nothing but good things to say about their network, and don't want to use another now; after enjoying fast all you can eat data for 12 mths

Obviously covering the cost of *free* 4G upgrades..

I think they've tried to be clever by keeping the handset price the same no matter the model - but that backfires in my view - rather pay 250+ and reduce monthly tariff.

And just had a call from the three store (I'd registered my interest in the phone last week and left my details with them) he again confirmed the tariffs as £99 for the phone no matter the size and then £41/46/51 a month. He even sounded sympathetic when he was saying the prices had gone up quite a lot. I guess they can understand that the deals aren't that good. Maybe they released the 5C plans blind to what the other networks were doing and then because theyd set those they couldn't really make them better for the 5S. They also confirmed again that only Apple would be selling the phones outright.

Have you seen the story on the macrumors home page stating that Australia and China immediately had 7-10 days delivery times on their online orders. Really annoying if supplies are that short, i'd have prefered Apple to have just delayed their announcement and release for a couple of weeks until stocks were in a better position, so more of us stand a chance of getting the phone near release :(

Its October for Hong Kong and Singapore.

With the USA and the UK probably being their primary markets do you think more phones have been diverted to each of these?

I'm hoping they're not premature and open up at say 22:30 or something...

I don't think they would do that, it would annoy a lot of people, especially after they sent the email that says 12:01 BST. I do think tho it's going to be a massive rush to order and be amongst the first batch

It always is a rush... I think if you're in the first 15 mins it should be ok...hopefully the stock is already in the UK.

12:01 BST could also be lunchtime no? Or does it say 12:01am BST? #

That's not going to happen. It never has in the past and won't this time. This is Apple we are talking about.

That's also true.. If anything it will be late :D
