So I've been doing some tracking, the phones should arrive in Dubai at 5 A.M. (UK time) and depart to Cologne at 6.50 A.M (UK time). Restored my faith in a Monday delivery! I wonder how long it will stay in Germany for hmm...

Still no update. Can you provide a link to the Dubai flight?

Awake very early today to check on UPS tracking. No update yet. Still saying left Hong Kong 3.55 on 13 Oct.

Just so excited that the phones are getting closer. :)

before i went to bed saw that it had just left HK airport. I opened flightradar24 and it showed me that UPS15 had just left HK airport with Cologne as destination. Ipad signal was weak so i couldnt see the complete path (dubai stop).
When i got to bed i couldnt see that flight anymore. Now when i track it it says that UPS15 left Shenzhen airport (not HK) with destination Bangkok... these sites are broken :p

I defo think our phones went on the Dubai flight, it was delayed from 3:25 to around 3:45. There's no reason for it not to have taken this route. It wouldn't make it in time if it went via Anchorage. I reckon UPS updated the scan time late. It'll be in dubai soon! *fingers crossed*. They're very quick at handling things in Dubai, it'll be off to Germany tomorrow too (it's kind of buying time as it heads more west). I'm not so sure about a Monday delivery anymore, but definitely Tuesday! :)

Yeah, they must have gone to Dubai, that's the only logical flight! I think Monday might be out of the question too, but they should be here by Wednesday :)

Oh to have a company whose products are so popular, there are forums of people desperate to spend ~£600 on your latest product...

Even to the point of tracking your company's import chain...

Has anyone done the 'Dragons Den' spoof?!

Whatever anyone thinks of Apple, good or bad, you have to say their marketing dept, who control advertising, pr and the product release keynotes, are amongst the best in the world.

Yup, it's a 1st world problem :)
Though quite enjoying the resourcefulness of forum members tracking consignments and flights - quite an education.

That's interesting as I was in at 4pm and two separate staff told me they only had 16GB Space Grey??!

mmmm, which member of staff to believe eh!

I must admit I was surprised, having anything left that late in the day, especially the 'rare' or 'sought after' golds. I asked why as they were so in demand and he said it was because it was the most expensive model probably.

Anyway, I was there just after 6pm.

Either way im sure they will be gone soon enough!

I was in there at around 3PM and they seemed to have plenty of stock of 64GB space grays (I bought one but see previous pages for my horror story). They had said (on the phone) that that was the only 64GB capacity they had. They had 16GB in all colours I think.

The apple fans have always been like this, it's just these days we have the technology to follow our products before they are delivered.

One of the main differences is that Apple has gone mainstream which means the diehard apple fans are now affected by supply issues. I think it's kinda fun how a launch of our new product and delays bonds people on MR

This is only true for what CarphoneWarehouse sell as "simfree". An iphone supplied by a network will already have the lock implemented.

I don't know about Three, but O2 won't process the lock until they have seen the IMEI live on their network (from personal experience, it took 2 attempts to get the request in on an iPhone 5 as it hadn't updated first time I phoned).

Okay, a little update:
The phone arrived to my friend in UK on Friday. Box is still not opened.
When I check the IMEI number initially (on http://www.imei.info) that's what I got (didn't do a screenshot at the time):

IMEI: 357998...
Model: iPhone 5S
Activated: No
Telephone Technical Support:
Repairs and Service Coverage:
Purchase Date: 16.09.2013
Contract Until: 16.09.2015
Blacklist Korea Networks:
Blacklist Australia Networks:
Blacklist Japan Networks:
Blacklist Telenor (Sweden):
Carrier: Buy carrier check!
SIM lock: Locked

We put a SIM card (not nano... in fact, they didn't included a nano card just a normal and micro) from the PAYG package in another phone and after the SIM has been activated on the Three network we did an account reg. and filled in the online unlock form.
Still waiting for the call from Three regarding the payment.
BUT, here's what I saw when I did a check couple of minutes ago.

So, maybe, just maybe... this is going to work.
What do you think? :)

My phone departed Chek Lap Kok at 5:51am, what flight was it on?

I think it is on the 5X001 Dubai flight that left at 5:34am...

http://www.flightradar24.com/UPS15

this one says its going from Dubai to Cologne.
Was the one that left Hong Kong right after seeing departure on tracking (details said Hong Kong to Cologne, but now says Dubai to Cologne. but 1 hour later i couldnt see the plane anymore, until now
Funny thing is it shows that it just left Mombai, not Dubai lol

It is possible that our phones have took the Louisville/Anchorage route?

Current time in Dubai is 1:59pm, next UPS flight to Cologne is at 2:40pm (UPS021)
Last UPS flight to Cologne was at 1:35pm but it appears to not have departed yet (UPS027)

It's been a full 12 hours since my phone departed Hong Kong. Something doesn't feel right.

Right I'm off shopping to keep my mind off this and will check in a few hours when hopefully all will be OK. UPS are a good company and Apple have trusted them so I will not panic ..... yet.

Hmm... I think we're panicking too quickly. Maybe, they're safe and sound somewhere and UPS haven't scanned them in or updated their site!

I think I've found out what the problem is.
May I also remind you's that there is also a "Eid-Al-Adha" festival in Saudi Arabia on the 15th Oct. also.
