What's the best way to test for dead pixels? Just a blank white screen somewhere? Any sites or programs you used? How did you spot yours?
I just used the Google homepage and I looked very carefully. I looked for any black dots or spots , then I cleaned the display with a slightly damp microfibre cloth to make sure it wasn't dust on the screen.
It could easily be dust under the screen, but it's still unacceptable. The really strange thing is that these spots have all been in nearly identical places each time. The only thing I can think of is that this current batch must have a weakness at the top right hand corner of the screen, that either lets dust in or is susceptible to dead pixels.
Maybe I'll try again in three months, but for now I'll be getting my £629 back. I'll also be sending a complaint by email to Tim Cook.

I really hate to say it, but I think Apple's manufacturing has gone down hill in the last couple of years.
