Hmm wonder if lack of stock was the reason that they didn't do pre orders last friday on the 5s. In other words this is what they were expecting.
On the Apple store all phones are now shipping in October.
You can get it from Carphone Warehouse as stated above with delivery tomorrow(Saturday) provided it is Black or Silver and 16gb, but they also are a bit more expensive costing 589£. Another thing is that the Carphone Warehouse phones lock to the first network sim you use.

To me, it would have made sense to start pre-orders for it today, release it in two weeks (which is the current delivery date anyway). The 5C would have had its time in the spot light before the 5S was out.
Gold 64GB is £50 more expensive than Apple and still no expected delivery until October 4. I guess it's an option for those who missed the 7-10 day orders direct from Apple last night. I wouldn't be surprised if CPW's estimated delivery date slipped though, if Apple are struggling to meet their own store's demand.

Will take a shower, get the screen protector on and have a play. Maybe even get a better picture!

More expensive and the lock to the network of the first sim you install. So they are not unlocked. I'd rather wait thanks.
I was able to walk into the THREE store in Bury at 9:15am and pick up a 64gb iPhone 5S in Space Gray. Speaking to the sales advisor, they only had 9 iPhone 5S for sale today in store and after I bought mine had just one 16gb left.

If you put an O2 PAYG SIM in it then O2 will unlock it for free after it locks to the network. Not as seamless as getting it SIM-free from the Apple Store, but it might be worth doing for some people.
I cant find the way to do that... where is the option online?
I called and they told me - no sim free phones...
Just got back from Manchester Arndale.
Sold out of 16GB's very quickly, then 32GB's and then at around 08:10 came the dreaded "No 5S' left"

Went to the Leeds trinity store this morning, after following someone on twitter who kept updating it was a total shambles and queue jumping seemed rife, I already had an inkling there was no stock, and I was correct, the poor guy from the store handing out tickets kept saying no iphone 5S's but we still have plenty of 5C's, lol!
In the past i got a black iphone 4 on launch day, i really wanted a white one, and eventually got it re- covered i wanted a white one so much - crazy I know!!!
So I wanted a gold one, couldn't get one, so have bit the bullet and ordered it online for an 'October' dispatch. I nearly bought one from CPW to get it quicker, but at £590 and it locks to your network when a sim first goes in it, I couldn't justify the cost vs time debate, so for now i know i've got one coming, I just have to wait for it!

Just called T-mobile paid off my existing contract and now have a new one with EE. They've quoted up to 30 days for the 5S but she said it wouldn't take that long. I got through pretty quickly within 20 mins. I was quite surprised. Beats the 4s time of 3 hours with O2. I was quoted less to end my contract today then earlier in the week. About £70 Well happy and now i have 4g as well.

Just returned from Vodafone with a 5c.
I know today is all about the 5s but thought I'd just share my experience.
Vodafone had 19 phones (a very very small store too) - all were 32gb and all were space grey.
She showed it to me but I didn't like it. I was dead set on a white one of either colour but none there. As I sold my phone earlier in the week I needed to buy one!
Anyway, she then showed me the 5c. What a lovely, beautifully crafted handset! I ordered one there and then - managing to get it cheaper due to my 20% work discount and as it was an additional line. I plan to now upgrade my original line in April to an S and keep this fun colourful phone until then!

I'm all gold also. I doubt they would go passed the processing stage for at least the next week.
