UK iPhone 5s and 5c Thread

Thanks to the poster who gave me the heads up about Voda stock levels in store. Drive past an out of town Voda store on the way home, small store but they had 16gb and 64gb left. I got the last white one though. :)

Staff were working flat out, said they'd been busy all day. They were very cheerful, though and all sorted out efficiently. :apple:
 
Just got my delivery confirmation for tomorrow from EE. I'm gonna be at work sadly so I probably won't get it unless they leave it with a neighbour. Oh well I can't have everything I suppose.
 
It's really strange how little of a profit margin the scalpers are getting. Surely there must be other ways to sell without the 10% Ebay cut, and I doubt they are all selling them on gumtree.
 
It's interesting that Apple hasn't implemented the store reservation system that they did last year for the iPhone 5. It almost implies that they expect supply problems to ease up pretty quickly, and so they don't think it'll be needed. The fact that supply in network stores has been so plentiful makes me think things will get better pretty soon.

Or this could just be wishful thinking :eek:
 
I ordered from the CPW website and choose the Deliver to Store instead because I ordered at 5:30pm and would have thought they don't send stuff after 5PM but it looks like my order has been dispatched to the store already.

(Usually not available 9-5 so home deliveries are no good for me on weekdays)

Oh and it's 7PM so can't call customer service to try divert the package to my billing address :/

Pulled up in car park of Carphone WareHouse Northampton at 7:45am. I was the only one there. Staff turned up 5 mins later.. by 8:10 I was out with the only 32GB they had on o2.

Expected it to be a no go, but was surprised how little hassle it was.

Even had a full nights sleep and time for breakfast before leaving! :D
 
Just tried CPWH again to see if I could get a more helpful person.

This time they said it's "awaiting collection from us" and have given me a 15 digits DPD number.

When I track it via DPD website it just states "Is not a valid parcel number, please amend".

We'll see. :D

They are issued with the tracking number when they book it with DPD but it doesn't go live on the website until the driver scans the parcel on collection.

Wow! If my text from EE is correct, my 65 gig white 5S that I ordered at 4pm this afternoon over the phone should arrive tomorrow! That is if the text I got from EE is actually accurate...
 
I ordered a 64gb grey from CPW at about 6.45pm for home delivery. Is there any chance I'll get it tomorrow do you think? Have received order confirmation by email but nothing more. Wonder what the cut off time for Saturday delivery is? I imagine it's well before when I ordered it and that a Monday or Tuesday delivery is more likely.

Should get it tomorrow I'd imagine. Call them and get a DPD tracking number.

They have all 3 grey models in stock when I ordered mine around 5pm.

Mine still hasn't been collected from depot and is expected tomorrow, so I'd imagine you should be fine. :)

Yup, I called a few minutes before 8pm and they were open. Pressed 1 for web orders, then 3 for 'talk to an advisor' and then they transferred me to someone else to help.
 
Just thought I'd contribute: Ordered mine at literally 12:02AM this morning! Expected delivery 7th October for first batch! Really hoping it doesn't take that long, if they have the stock I can't see why it would take them 2 weeks to send it out.

That sucks, I called at 7:40 and said same thing :/
 
I just noticed how the sim free 5s gold on CPWH is showing as expected delivery before the 30th Sept so rang up to double check.

The first guy said that apple haven't "made any sim free gold iPhones and you can only get on contract" so hung up and rang back.

Second guy said should be the 4th but could be sooner he wasn't too sure, decided to order anyway, however I haven't had an email confirming the order. Is this normal? Do they send one out or is it just because they will be busy?
 
Just thought I'd let everyone know that the 15.1 carrier update from o2 seems to completely screw up activating your phone number with iMessage and Facetime, mine has been trying to activate for the last 6 hours.
