Has anyone who ordered the 5S apple leather case online received this order yet? Mine was dispatched on Saturday for delivery by tomorrow and still not appeared yet.

Obviously I know it isn't tomorrow yet and I haven't even got the right phone to put it on yet but since I've got goodness know how long to wait until my 7-10 days order for my 5S actually arrives from Apple I'm trying to get some modicum of excitement

Well I can confirm that if u order a 32GB space grey from O2 they do indeed order it next day. Called straight away to pay the phone off and cancel refresh contract so for a total price of £619 I have the phone in my hand. Unlock request is in but even if that is knocked back just now I have stuck my normal giffgaff sim in it and it is working fine!

Now off the cancel apple order so hope this bumps someone up the q!

I was at the Trafford centre at about 3ish. They had just received their first restock since launch and had everything but gold. There was a queue of about 40/50 people but I think they still had some tickets for the people at the back.

I am in the same situation. Shipped at weekend with 26th as delivery date and not here yet. This would imply they know what they are talking about with delivery dates so expect phone ones to be quite accurate too.

Debit or Credit?

I think a full hold is always kept on a debit card, but with credit cards it is just a preauthorisation at a small amount and then the full charge when they ship.

Apple have taken the money from my debit card. Which was swiftly followed by my bank cancelling my card for "fraud" and their now reissuing me a new card. I was hoping to get to a store to get a phone at some point this week but who knows how apple would refund me for the online order! I'm sure it won't be as simple as updating my card details on my apple account.

I bottled the queuing up at the Leeds store last Friday, i'd kinda resigned myself to not bothering upgrading from my 4 to a 5S and instead wait out for a 6.

I was in Cardiff for a wedding this week and as I was up early this morning thought i'd have a ride over to the St Davids centre on the off chance.

I got there at 9:05am and the 3 staff had set up a queuing barrier. I was the only one there and they said they had about 'an hour's worth' of 5S stock to sell. By 9:30am there were about 20 people in the queue all getting an iPhone and I walked away with a Silver 32Gb.

Result!

Nope this is wrong, debit card hold is released after 3 days

Money isn't taken off until the phones have been dispatched

Is this correct ? Under the distance selling regs as long as they intend to dispatch the item with in 28 days they can take all the money up front, I believe. I'd love to see the £700 back in my account, but there is nothing showing today.

yep on that point, one guy in the office has been on three and said he'll never change because of the "all you can eat" data tariff. I said I bet you're either not using much or if you are, they'll start limiting you.

So he called up his usage for the last year and he's been using nearly 50GB each month with no hassle whatsoever from three. Quite HOW he uses that much without doing tethering or anything else is a bit of a puzzle, but certainly he's delighted with three's service.

You get 1TB a month of data (so it is "limited" in a way) that is subject to traffic management between 3pm and midnight.

I found this guide to 3 quite useful: http://www.cable.co.uk/guides/is-3-mobile-any-good/

And here's 3's official page on their traffic management policies: http://support.three.co.uk/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBISAPI.DLL?Command=New,Kb=Mobile,Ts=Mobile,T=Article,varset_cat=signal,varset_subcat=3804,Case=obj(4046)

The tracking for my case updated to location Manchester this afternoon so I expect to receive it tomorrow.

My other half paid with her Maestro Debit card

The funds weren't available for a few days but now they are, they held £1 though for some reason lol

Has anyone been able to pick up a 16gb Gold from the retail stores? Dunno if its even worth trying the MK store for such a specefic model!

Stopped by the Cardiff store today to check out the gold model in person while I wait for mine to dispatch sometime within the next millennium. It's a thing of beauty.

While I was there though, I heard the staff telling several people they had no 5S' in stock at all. I saw people queing up outside a few hours before I went in there, so if they did have any at all, they vanished fast.

Just checked mine and it has changed to BIRMINGHAM so also expect my case to arrive tomorrow (exactly as Apple predicted).

Mine is now EDINBURGH, LT GB - not sure when it changed to this. So either it was delivered to my work reception this afternoon and no one called me or it is at a depot in Edinburgh for delivery tomorrow

So can we expect our phones on the 10th October - the latest date!!??

I'm not sure they have this time.

I've had a pending charge sitting on my card since when I ordered last Thursday night but it is only £2. I assume that it is Apple preauthorising a charge, but there is no hold for the cost of a phone.

Has anyone else got a hold for the full amount?

They held the full amount on my American Express card, although the pending amount has now dropped off, so I don't expect to see it until it ships now.

Thats not quite true. Thats what Visa, MasterCard and American Express recommend (And Amex do for their own cards). Some card issuers will take money from your available balance/credit for upto 10 days (Natwest do this).

How long did it take last time until stock levels were at a point where you could walk into a store and pick up no queuing? Also how long till deliveries went back to normal? Was it about November/December?

when i placed my order online at 00.02 last week - my debit card was charged the £709 the very next day.

Previous purchases Apple have only debited the amount AFTER despatch.
