I have no idea what to do, been with O2 a number of years and not really had any problems until now, I pay £38 a month on refresh (£20 to phone and £18 for unlimited texts calls and 1GB of data). Every month I am using my data allowance and when they throttle me is basically makes my phone redundant.

I noticed my tariff for new customers comes with 2GB of data so I called up, had to argue for them to apply another GB for free, after FIVE calls they agreed.

I was looking at giffgaff but effectively it's PAYG. Also looked at three, unlimited everything and 4GB of data for £18, plus I can use allowances abroad.

I have £220 left on refresh and was tempted to pay this off and cut ties with O2.

What does everyone else think of three and giffgaff? Do they allow tethering?

I switched to three from O2 for this reason. In the last month, I kept running out of data regularly and the bolt-ons are limited to two after which they charge £2 per 100Mb. V frustrating experience. I hope three will be better

I'm now quite chuffed that threes new tariffs are so high.

I now get to pickup my apple sim free on release day at a time I choose (no waiting for delivery).

I get to keep my super £12.90 plan with all you can eat data. I was all set to go for a 24 month contract but they are just too high..

Anyone else gone for store pickup? Lots of chatter about deliveries.

They even still have most models in stock for pickup (no plus, they went instantly).

Store pick-up for me too. Waited all day for Threes prices, no way I was about to pay £50 per month, so reserved one at apple sim free.

Think I'm going to go for the £15 unlimited Three sim.

You could probably haggle a bit. I think EE's extra coverage over three is worth it though, but it depends where you live. Im quite rural so as soon as im out of town on three i get nothing, but on EE its a lot better. Don't worry I'm not on commission, hah.

Haha, funny as my home don't get 4g on 3, yet my work does where I need it lol

Anyone know from previous experience what the odds are of getting a new phone at an Apple Store are, say, a few days after launch?

I realise it will be utter carnage on Friday/Saturday/Sunday and impossible unless I queue for hours etc but what will it be like on the following Tuesday or Wednesday for example?

Would it be possible to walk in and get a 16gb 6+?

Anyone know what stock levels tend to be like in store the week after the launch? Are there still major queues?

Cheers.

The networks have always been a rip off and even more so this time round.

For an iPhone 6 Plus 128GB EE charges £149 upfront then £63.99 for 24 months which over the total life of the contract will set you back around £1,686. Add in my wife's iPhone 6 64GB EE charges for example £149 upfront then £45.99 for 24 months which will be around £1,253. That is a total spend of £2,939.

So from the Apple Store I have just purchased an iPhone 6 Plus 128GB and iPhone 6 64GB outright SIM free for around £1,400. With a SIM only contract from 3 Mobile for £15 each over 12 months, which I will probably extend to 24 then that is £30 * 24 = £720. So total spend is £2,120 which is a saving of £819. Those 3 Mobile SIM only deals give me all you can eat data, 200 mins (300 mins 3 to 3), unlimited texts, 4GB tethering, free 0800 calls and Feels At Home where in places like Italy, Australia and USA you can use your phone as you would at home and not worry about roaming costs (25GB limit on data abroad ;) ). If you need more minutes, get the 4GB data and then you get 600 mins. Oh, and 3 also offers 4G for free. Plus I have been a 3 customer for the past 3 years and their network is the fastest and most reliable. Bit of an advert for 3, but great network.

If you cannot afford to buy a phone outright then your old phone should make up some of the difference (about £180 for an iPhone 5 in good condition on phone trade in websites) and Apple also have interest free credit available if you need to make up the difference.

Not only that if I did decide I wanted a change after 12 months to the S line or to Android then I could, or even after a few months I would probably get most of my money back for the iPhone.

So, I ordered a silicon case and it's not going to be delivered until October.

Anyone got any suggestions for UK sellers of a half-decent case while I wait for my Apple one? I am too clumsy to be carrying a naked iPhone6.

Tried eBay? I bought a flexible thin clear case for my iPhone 6 Plus, it'll arrive Monday.

I've been with three for just over a year. Inside my house there is no signal with any network. Three offered me a home signal (femtocell box thing) and thats worked fine. Outside in and around town the signal is fine and better than O2 & Vodafone. However 2 mins up the road into the country side and no service. I spend about a week a month in France, so being able to roam for free is great.
Customer service can be difficult to deal with, but thankfully I have rarely had to call them.

If you have £220 left on refresh be careful, it may only be handset price and there may still be a tariff price on too of that.

Can everyone stop worrying! If it says it'll be delivered on the 19th, then it'll be delivered on the 19th.

Who cares if it says processing or preparing for dispatch, or if you can't see your serial number yet.
If your date shows 19/9 then the rest doesn't matter. Get on with your lives and then the excitement can begin next Friday.

Alright misery guts!! :D

We're not hurting you, leave us alone in our annual post apple pre order panic

The first batch of phones will already be with Syncreon (assuming they are being used again) in the UK. Typically launch day iGadgets don't ship direct from Shanghai.

My last three iphone's that i ordered online for launch have come direct from china.

Thanks to whoever posted the serial number geeky stuff.

My iPhone 6 Production week: 35 (September) but no matter how I look at it, week 35 is actually in August. (Theory, perhaps my iPhone was completed after 5pm on 30th August and with the time difference it was pushed over into week 35).

I'm aware that I'm a loser geek for thinking this stuff but hey, I'm not hurting anyone. :D

Just checked and the serial number of my iPhone 6 is now showing up in https://supportprofile.apple.com

It was manufactured last week (week 36) according to http://www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.html

I didn't even realise there was a support profile! Thanks for the link.

Same boat. My contract is up with o2 but I get unlimited calls and text with 2GB data for £32 a month. I'd like more data, but will be paying through the nose for it. Bought the iPhone 6 sim-free to give me a choice to move, but their simplicity deals for existing users are not great.

Think I managed to get a iPhone 6 64Gb Space Grey on EE that will be with me on launch day...

Decided to move to EE so I was waiting at 8am trying to get on their website, as others have said it was a total shambles - obviously overwhelmed by demand but it always amazes me how the demand for iphone launches always seems to take all carriers by surprise! There's been at least 6 of them now (not including all the S launches)!

Anyway tried for a good 1.5hrs with multiple windows trying to dodge '504 bad gateway' messages and get through the process.

I then thought I'd try and call but was not expecting much as assumed millions would also be trying. However, got through in 5mins and spoke to a really nice guy called Lee who sorted me through the whole process in 20mins. He guaranteed me a delivery via DPD on launch day. He said his manager was telling them all that anyone ordering before 2:30pm would get it on launch day. I ordered at about 9:30am.

Like others I've had no confirmation txt or email, but I did get given my new account number - so fingers crossed it all works out!

Anyone else with a similar experience from EE?

Thanks,
Richard.

I've gone for store pickup too. Hopefully I can make it through to Glasgow in time for the one hour slot I've requested and that there's no problems when I get there!

128gb Iphone 6plus is £789. Three unlimited one plan (no contract) is £15pm. Over 24m this costs £1149.

If I enter into a 24m contract I would expect to pay cheaoer than this over the 24 m term. Therefore why arent the Network providers offering this phone at around £900 unlimited data over the 24m? This would be the benchmark I would be paying. This would work out at a free phone 128gb on a £37.50 contract.

Im amazed that people are paying anything else. I assume most dont have the lump sum to buy outright.

24 month contracts are usually more expensive.
