*Gives Beer* just enjoy your weekend and relax, you'll get it sooner or later.

Does anyone think the other carriers like vodafone will get volte on iPhones this year? Or will it be like the iphone 5 where only one provider had 4g and to get 4g you needed the 5s (or the carrier).

It'll be on all 4G UK Bands

4G was limited to EE because of hardware issues. No doubt Apple will be working with as many carriers as possible to get VOLTE up and running. They even said that in the keynote.

I can see Three going to be next... seeing that they released an app that make wifi call using your mins if you have no network reception...

My 2 year contract with O2 ends on the 21st. I moved to a 12 month sim only plan. Unlimited text & calls with 3GB data for £20. They gave me a £3 loyalty discount which drops the price to £17.

I've had two iPhones so far both on contract but I'll always buy sim free from Apple in future.

That's a good deal. I might give them a call in the week and explain I've bought the phone sim-free and to see what they'll offer for me to stay.

Someone please answer this if possible.

Yesterday, Envirofone decided they weren't going to pay me, they also told me that Saturday isn't a working day, this means the earliest I'm going to get payment is Monday. I know I don't have enough in my bank as I was relying on money from my 5S, but I still managed to place an order for the 19th of a Gold 6 Plus (as I was expecting the money to be transferred later that day and was hoping that Apple would take a while to process orders, which they did) But it now says on the order page that "Payment action is required and that they are unable to get authorisation, because I don't have sufficient funds, but also says they will continue seeking authorisation.

Does anyone know if this will be a massive problem, if I get paid by Envirofone on Monday or Tuesday it should still all be cleared by Thursday for them to deliver, but obviously there are two days inbetween, will they give up trying and just cancel my order (in which case I will have to try and borrow money as quick as possible) or will they keep trying until I have all the money and everything will be fine and I'll receive 'me goods on the 19th?

Thank you

Best bet is to get the money in there fast. From memory they'll only try to get the funds twice before cancelling the order. I really doubt they'll ship you the phone without taking the funds.

Think I managed to get a iPhone 6 64Gb Space Grey on EE that will be with me on launch day...

Decided to move to EE so I was waiting at 8am trying to get on their website, as others have said it was a total shambles - obviously overwhelmed by demand but it always amazes me how the demand for iphone launches always seems to take all carriers by surprise! There's been at least 6 of them now (not including all the S launches)!

Anyway tried for a good 1.5hrs with multiple windows trying to dodge '504 bad gateway' messages and get through the process.

I then thought I'd try and call but was not expecting much as assumed millions would also be trying. However, got through in 5mins and spoke to a really nice guy called Lee who sorted me through the whole process in 20mins. He guaranteed me a delivery via DPD on launch day. He said his manager was telling them all that anyone ordering before 2:30pm would get it on launch day. I ordered at about 9:30am.

Like others I've had no confirmation txt or email, but I did get given my new account number - so fingers crossed it all works out!

Anyone else with a similar experience from EE?

Thanks,
Richard.

As per my original post I'm in the same boat, same process. Rang them up again today to confirm it, as not had email etc, he said it's on there ready to go, but you don't get a text or email if you call, only if you did it online.

EE

It was for the 5s and i tracked it all the way from China.
Yes I would expect that as it wasn't a pre-order. The volume of stock for pre-orders usually means that they ship them by the pallet load to people like Syncreon who break the pallets up and pass the phones onto UKMail etc.

It's odd - you can get the 3 sim from Apple with 300 minutes of voice and unlimited data. Or from 3 direct with only 200 minutes of voice and unlimited data - both for £15 per month. Do they both allow tethering??

I have no idea, no idea at all. That's strange isn't it? I guess I missed out on getting that SIM though. I'm only going to bump to the £15 one (I'm on £12.90 at the moment) if the signal is good at my Uni and there's a lack of WiFi coverage. Otherwise I don't need to tether really.

The Three offer from Apple is PAYG, when the contracts where reprised in July they PAYG add-ons were left unchanged. I wouldn't expect the £15 add on for PAYG to remain unchanged in the long term (as it seems to offer better value). The PAYG £15 add on does not allow any tethering, while the new sim only contracts do (they have a tethering allowance of up to 4GB, depending on data allowance included).

VoLTE has got nothing to do with Apple (other than Apple building it into their handsets), it's a core network infrastructure protocol that will work with any VoLTE capable handset.

why do i feel those of us who got "preparing for dispatch" today are going to receive their iPhones before the 19th?

FINGERS CROSSED! :)
This is a pretty large logistical operation but nothing new for Apple and their suppliers so it's pretty rare that anything gets delivered before launch day in the UK.

Requested a PAC code from 3.

If anybody has experience cancelling with 3, you'll understand it's usually painful , with the agent refusing to cancel for over 30 minutes reeling network features, offering competitive deals. I even had it once I cancelled after the agent and manager couldn't offer me a deal and after 30 mins, the senior manager rang back and offered me 15Gbs data for my ipad for. £5.11 a month!

This time, ask for PAC code , explain that the cost is too much for iPhone. Explain Vodafone deal. Three agent apologises, says loads of people are calling the same, and he can't do anything. He said if I wanted sim only unlimited everything, he could maybe do it for £15.50.

Refused, PAC given over phone - whole process around 3 minutes!

Yep, my experience roughly the same.
They offered me a better deal, explained all the network features. I said I still wanted a PAC code and the guy said "I can't understand why, you know all the benefits, know we are the best but yet you still want to make this bad decision."

Eventually got the code but only after the senior guy called me 45 mins later to try and get me to change my mind.
I'm also leaving for Vodafone.
