The reservation system was live on Friday, not sure when they took it down though as I still saw it there onSunday I think.

Showing it's going back up at midnight (although it doesn't say which midnight!)

That was still up yesterday I think. Suspect given there was practically no stock left on pre-order for reservation, there's no point keeping it up until 00:01 Friday would be my guess.

Data probably more important. I only use about 300 mins a month.

Tbh I am getting fed up with O2's 3G (even in Central London) and therefore doubt 4G is any better.

Do what I did, get a payg sim on All the networks and see how they work for you. I tried them all and three was the clear winner for coverage and speed. All the others were just slow, 1-2mbps speeds. Ee came close but as a company they suck donkey schlong. Mid contract price rises....

Too long a wait

I can't wait for Friday, been stuck on "preparing for dispatch" since saturday for a 19th delivery, I just want a tracking number lol

Vodafone are giving a bit of hope for Friday delivery on the 6+.

Thanks I've looked at their posts and they do seem to be consistently telling people on Twitter that even orders placed today they are aiming to deliver on Friday. It's annoying I don't have any estimated delivery date at all, I only ordered Monday morning as my original order was with Phones4U, looks like I might still get it Friday which would be awesome

Anyone order with EE?

My brother put a pre-order through, with an £179 upfront cost. He input his card details, did the verified by visa etc, but the money hasn't been taken from his credit card, nor has it been removed from his available balance.

Seems odd.

Can i ask, how does the 5.5" iPhone case feel? is it ok to fit in pockets and do you think its portable enough for someone who regularly commutes? (like myself).

Im asking because i'm still making my mind up of which one to get. Going to Apple store on Saturday to see if they have both models on display.

It's really subjective, to be honest. I currently use a Note 3 for work and to me it's too big for some occasions. Wearing shorts or going on a bike ride without a backpack and it can become annoying.

I'm glad I can leave the Note at home or in the office on those occasions and just forward calls to my personal phone (my iPhone).

Last time the Note needed repair I used a Galaxy S4 and that was a much nicer size IMO, 4.7" will go into most pockets that a 5s will, the phablet sizes don't (all in my subjective opinion, of course).

Not yet, Brother.

Had a whole thing with CPW... Got my order in at 8.01... No confirmation e-mail, had to call them to double check everything was okay. Rep told me if I'd left it like that, I'd've got it THREE weeks later!

He rectified this and assured me it'd be safe for delivery come launch.

Got my order #... Just waiting on that dang confirmation!

I'm really excited.. I can't wait. I'm only upset for all of those men and women that'll lose their jobs over at P4U. A lovely pair served me my iP5s last year.

I got my order number straight away but EE had problems with it because ... I had another contract with them. WTF! God forbid I give them my custom :p

Called this morning to rectify that and they said the next email will be from DPD, hopefully on Thursday night or Friday morning.

It went down sometime yesterday afternoon, I remember having a look and only 2 Stores had stock of one colour of 128GB iPhone 6, everything else was showing as out of stock.

Loads of people showing off their Spigen cases is making me want to get one and cancel my Apple silicone order (no idea which one to get...so many options!)

Question: will they definitely fit the 6?

Yea that's why if i can go to an Apple store on Saturday and have a play around with both models, i can then decide which one is right for me. Personally as long as it fits in my pocket and is portable enough to commute on the bus/train with, ill be happy.

Yeah they are a perfect fit mate and silicone will be dirty in days that's why steer clear also best value for money

If so, then probably not launch day delivered pre-orders. It's has been last day tracking for launch day.

They are not in China. They are already in the UK and it's too early for them to be dispatched to couriers for next day delivery etc as they can't deliver before the 19th. That's why the store kept changing dispatch times within minutes as they knew what was already here. The next shipment for 7-10 days are going from China not the ones for this Friday. If I'm wrong you can scream at me but have been through this since 2007 and confirmed it with Apple Business today.

I ordered 8.30PM on Friday. Thought I'd missed the launch day boat. It might just come good.

That does make sense. Also means the 19/9 deliveries will be less hectic in terms of checking flights etc

Thanks for agreeing! I post this every year except last year on the iPhone 5s when there weren't pre orders and hence they were shipped and tracked on UK forum on this site with every plane spotter app as possible#
Carphone are the same...they have their allocation in there warehouses and changed their shipments dates when their systems change. I know as I used to work for them.
Tomorrow will be dispatch emails dominating this forum!

Plus Review from the Independent

Apple has unveiled two new phones. Much of what’s said in the iPhone 6 review is relevant here, so please check that out. Here I’ll concentrate on what the iPhone 6 Plus offers above the iPhone 6.

The trend for bigger phones has led to the creation of phone/tablet hybrids: so big they work just fine as tablet substitutes, even if you feel a bit of a noodle holding one to your ear.

Apple’s aim with the iPhone 6 Plus and its 5.5-inch display is to get the balance right, to offer the benefits of a screen sizeable enough for extensive video playback and easy email composing on a far-from-cramped keyboard but still fit your jeans pocket.

The iPhone 6 Plus succeeds, though even a whisper bigger would make it just too big. As it is, it’s important you try it in your hand first as it won’t suit all mitts.

When you do, you’ll see that the display is even richer than on the smaller handset. This is a Full HD screen, that is one with 1920 x 1080 pixels, which at this size works out at 401 pixels per inch. There are phones with higher-resolution screens, but the subtle colours, the great viewing angles and the laser-sharpness here are outstanding. I’d say this is the best screen I’ve seen on a mobile phone.

Turn the phone on its side and the home screen turns with you – the iPad has this capability too, but not the iPhone until now. And that’s a clue – this is really more like a little iPad that makes calls than anything else. So when you’re reading emails in landscape orientation you have a list of mails on the left and one message displayed on the right, like on the iPad. Messages has a similarly optimised landscape view – expect other apps to be improved in this way for the bigger-screened iPhone.

So how is it held to the ear? It’s big. It’s noticeably heavier than other iPhones. And for smaller faces it may feel too much, but this is all about personal taste and for many this won’t be an issue.

The iPhone 6 Plus has a great camera, as does the 6, though stills and video playback look even better on this high-res real estate. And the eight-megapixel snapper has an extra feature here – optical image stabilisation which is more sophisticated and effective than the digital version on the iPhone 6.

It allows the camera lenses to move in response to camera shake, to counteract it. In low light this is especially important as the camera shutter needs to be open longer. I’ve tried the camera in reduced light and it seemed to deliver more forgiving, sharper images than before. Apple’s imaging has in recent years worked so well through a combination of an efficient sensor and good-taste image processing. This is Apple’s best camera.

Smartphones are dogged by poor battery life, especially as more features are added to tempt us to use our phones more. One of the disadvantages of a bigger, higher-resolution display is that it consumes more power. One of the advantages is a bigger phone has room for a bigger battery. The iPhone 6 Plus just keeps going. I found it seriously capable of going strong even when I didn’t charge it for two successive nights.

After years of rigorously, anxiously plugging a phone in every single night and probably most afternoons, I cannot tell you how intensely liberating this is. The iPhone 6 is a big step forward in battery life and the Plus is even better.

Both phones offer great features, like the sublimely easy Touch ID to launch the screen and (one day) become a useful contactless payment system. For my digits the iPhone 6 is the ideal size. But for bigger mitts or greedier eyes, this will be the optimum.

I've ordered with cpw and everything appears to have gone through ok. But now having read your post I wonder if EE will have problems with me already having another contract with them? Albeit it is due to end later this month. Hope I get on Friday as promised by cpw.

Looks like I will be getting a Spigen case for the time being and then choose something else when there's more of a selection.

Topic of screen protectors - can anyone point me in the right direction on Amazon?

I am sure there will. Unfortunately mine won't be for a few weeks but I'm looking forward to seeing people post their pics of their phones.
