My iPhone 6 64GB SG preorder which is due for delivery 29 Sept - 2nd Oct has been "Preparing for dispatch" since about midday today. Would be awesome if it arrived sooner than that!
Yeah, mine is 30th Sep - 3rd Oct and it changed to Preparing to dispatch this afternoon.
Probably Phones 4 U stock, they seem to be doing lots of deals with the administrators for various parts of the business.

Does anyone know what the average time is from "Preparing to Despatch" ...to "Despatched"?..... Just I am wondering whether to hang fire or go to the store early Friday and try to pick a phone up and cancel/return the on line order?

Leaving my iPhone 5 on iOS 7. I'll let the next owner decide if they want to update. Got three iPads to do as it is!
There was an article about status errors I think, and people being shown "7-10 days" when actually there was more stock available. I guess it's possible that yours is one of those.
As for changing from "Preparing to despatch" to "despatched" - any time between now and the delivery.
I've had mixed experiences - once had it change on the day of delivery whilst it had actually been out for delivery for about 2 hours already.
Not really a surprise. I suspect there will be a minor update in the next week or so.
I will be sticking to iOS7 on my iPad Air & 2 until a jailbreak is out for iOS8... although I'll have no choice in that with my iPhone 6 Plus when it arrives
Out of interest, what does jailbreaking bring aside from the features of iOS 8? I understand it's usefulness whilst we were on iOS 6 etc., but what additional features are available now?
