Same offer is broadly available to new customers too. The 10GB deal you describe on a 12 month SIM only contract is £27.99 on their site. Order from Quidco and you get £70 cash-back. Smooth that over the 12 months of the contract and it's £22 a month.

I saw that and was about to go ahead and move over from Three but before I managed to go ahead I got a call to ask if I'd be able to work in the US for three weeks - so I reckon I'll be staying with Three just for the 'Feel at home' deal as right now (with a US trip looming) that seems to have more value for me than the visual voicemail and wifi-calling. I loved the fact that when I was working in the US earlier this summer I could just use my UK phone as normal without worrying about the costs.

If only Three would implement visual voicemail and wifi calling :(

Oh well, must cheer myself up by looking forward to Friday.

No excess on claims.

Re claim times, my one use was a dead iPhone 4 on Friday after water-damage and a replacement on Tuesday. Reading online it seems to take two or three days, which some people might consider a deal breaker.

Just cancelled my Endsleigh insurance, and on hold waiting to get the AMEX one.

One question; Do you have to be an AMEX Customer?

I've got a barclaycard thats due to be changed over to a Barclaycard Amex Cashback card?

I'm with Three. I'm completely indifferent on the wifi calling front. Their 'Three in Touch' app largely fulfils the same function for me. But on the visual voicemail point I completely agree - their failure to implement this is so frustrating.

But their unlimited data inclusive of tethering combined with their 'Feel at Home' offering is enough to keep me sweet for now. That, and the fact I'm paying £15 a month. Although the 10GB EE for £22 a month is a reasonable alternative what with visual voicemail being included in the mix.

Took the same 19.99 contract on Monday and on phone with EE now trying to get the 15.99 one which is equivalent but with unlimited minutes. Did they just swap it no problem for you?

Yup no problem, but im technically spending more money so upgrading, where as you're after a downgrade in price, so not sure if they'll drag their feet. Either way the upgrade for me went through straight away and they were very helpful and even picked up the phone within 3 minutes.

Yes i can tether

Just checked the iPhone 5 UK thread and people started to get their dispatch notifications at 7PM  Hopefully we can get them by tonight ;D

After reading hundreds of posts, I decided to post for the first time since waiting for my phone last year.

Firstly, I feel bad for those that ordered literally minutes after 0840-0850 and ended up with a week or two to wait. Been there myself and it sucks! Hopefully people that don't want theirs will cancel their orders and yours will get pushed up, or you can get it before that in store.

Regarding delivery that most people have been talking about - generally, preorders have been shipped to the countries prior to the release date. This means that people in the US will have already started seeing their phones moving through UPS or FedEx, but that's only because it takes so long to get things from one place to another. Even if they are coming from China (like with the 5s release) we still have a day or so before it needs to be despatched...UPS are pretty damn quick! The status is irrelevant, because they only update them once they have had time to go through the logistics, scanning into UPS etc. - either way, I wouldn't worry.

With cases, I decided I wanted a very slim fit case, just to stop scratching. I've read the messages saying things like why would you want to cover the iPhone etc. and I agree...completely. However, I rely on being able to sell my iPhone every year so I can get a new one and if it's not in pristine condition, you're not going to get the same £££ for it. Anyway, I decided to go for the Spigen iPhone 6 Case Air Skin (4.7). I've had the Pinlo Slice and the Desmay Slight before, but neither are available at the moment. Although Spigen are saying pre-order only at the moment, my order, which was only placed yesterday, has already been despatched with RM 1st Class (so should get it before the phone...hopefully).

Anyway, good luck to all getting your iPhones on time. Looking forward to seeing mine! :)

Forgot to add, those that wanted a really slim fit case:

Also, if anyone wants a screen protector, I highly recommend xtremeguard (though they do send from the US). They are easy to apply, protect well and feel pretty good (I've used them on my 5 and 5s). Also, they are far cheaper than Zagg screen/full body protectors. They've also got a 50% off code running at the moment which shows up when you try to order (if not, its 50off).

I ordered this case Sunday and arrived today, looks really nice :D

Got a status update from Vodafone just gone 3PM today, picked and ready for delivery. I ordered this early afternoon last Friday so I'm quite surprised! :)

The sods said because I set up the contract in store there is no cooling period! So I'm now paying £4 more for less minutes a day after I set it up.

Looks reasonable but not for me... the excesses for iPhone's are pretty high (£50 or £100), Amex excesses are nil. You can only have one phone covered by the policy, Amex will cover all phones in the household. Maximum gadget value is £750, which might not cover your laptop, Amex will cover £1,500. Cover doesn't include sunglasses, bags, or watches which Amex does cover (again, up to £1,500).

If it's much cheaper than the Amex option it might be of value depending on your personal circumstances and needs.

I have an O2 nano sim I got in 2012 with the release of the iPhone 5. Because O2 doesn't support 4G data on the iPhone 5, I kept using my 3G Simplicity contract.
Tomorrow I plan on changing to a 4G Simplicity tariff. Does anyone know if I'll need to change sim cards, or if my current one will allow 4G speeds?

I was planning on changing tariffs online, but if I need a new sim I'd may as well go in store. :D

I was told over on the O2 forums that 2 year old iPhone 5 nano SIMs aren't 4G ready, so I went into an O2 store yesterday to get a new one.

It's not that good tbh I just cancelled my insurance with them, you have to register your iphone and wait 21 days before you can make a claim on it. Its £100 excess on the iphone and £50 for android.
The register put me off it, other banks don't need you try pre-register your device with them.

I just got off the phone with Barclays they said it's instantly insured and there's no registration period? :s
