It's not that good tbh I just cancelled my insurance with them, you have to register your iphone and wait 21 days before you can make a claim on it. Its £100 excess on the iphone and £50 for android.
The register put me off it, other banks don't need you try pre-register your device with them.
The excess doesn't bother me, but the 21 days yes :-/
Amex one seems good, but £13 per month considering I'm doing it only for the iPhone... Would the Amex cover a second phone in the household? This would be a good plus!

Barclays live chat just confirmed it too, no 21 days registration period

Barclays: ...from July 2013, the 7 day registration period has been withdrawn. Customer is covered immediately from registration.

There's also no mention of 21 days/7 days in their T/Cs for the tech pack either. You can try ringing Barclays again just to confirm it.

My insurance is with Policy Administration Services, which were a Phones 4U company, which I think was actually provided by the lifestyle group which the barclays is.
(reminds me, I should check my insurance is still okay with Phones 4U going bust).

They come through in the end, but are a bit careless.
I had a 3GS and managed to break the screen. They repaired, sent it back to me after about 2 weeks, but sent it back without screws so it was falling apart.. I claimed, and said I need it fixing sooner than they were offering. They eventually ordered me a replacement which took 2 weeks before funding me to buy my own. They let me keep my faulty device whilst I waited.
They paid me quick enough - full amount too, so ended up buying iPhone 4!

I've lost a 4S, which they replaced quite sharpish (after jumping through hoops with Three to get a proof of usage).

My iPhone 5S jumped out of my hand, slid down the wall, and landed on carpet. The screen stopped responding to touch, and display had some vertical lines on it.
Sent it back, it was fixed, returned, but had some damage to the metal frame where they'd stuck a tool in to pry the screen out. Also the Touch ID wasn't working.
So they ordered me a replacement straight away, and they arranged to pick-up the "fixed" one.
The replacement was a brand new sealed one, with a fresh 12 month warranty.

So... their repairs can be a bit of a mess and they seem a little careless in that department (like I can say anything..), but replacements are quick and good. If you ever damage a phone with them, best hope it's irreparable!

Edited to add:
Just remembered my sister had an iPhone 4 repaired with them, and that was done fine, no issues, and fairly quick too. Quicker than my 5S took.

I have an O2 nano sim I got in 2012 with the release of the iPhone 5. Because O2 doesn't support 4G data on the iPhone 5, I kept using my 3G Simplicity contract.
Tomorrow I plan on changing to a 4G Simplicity tariff. Does anyone know if I'll need to change sim cards, or if my current one will allow 4G speeds?

I was planning on changing tariffs online, but if I need a new sim I'd may as well go in store. :D

Can only speak from experience/comments from O2 CSA.... I was in the same position, they advised that I needed a newer nano sim than the one in my two year old iPhone 5. Messed up sending me one three times...wrong address, micro sim etc so went in store to get one. New one says 4G on it but whether the old one would have worked I can't confirm? It only took 20 mins to swap over though so no big deal. ( as an aside I had a problem where when I turned phone off then on call forwarding would activate itself, this doesn't happen with the new SIM card?)

I have Amex Myessentials. I tried it as they had a deal on, and then my son dropped his iPad mini and smashed the screen. Claim was really easy (we decided to pay for it and reclaim rather than waiting an extra couple of days for them to arrange payment direct).

We're now getting to the position that what we have paid is more than the repair would have cost, so we got about 18 months cover free so far if you look at it that way. Personally, I don't like this sort of cover, but as it includes all items for the household we will probably keep the cover for a while, especially with our son who is a typically clumsy kid.

As these types of cover go, it seems quite good.

My case for the iPhone 6 Plus has arrived, hammers home how much larger it is compared to the 5 and 5S. Hope I've made the right choice

Hi All,

I ordered via EE on Saturday evening. New customer (previously with O2).

I just got the following text:-

"Hi. Great news. Your iPhone will be delivered on 19 Sep. We'll send you a text the day before and on the day to let you know your 1hr delivery window. It will also allow you to track or amend your delivery date."

Great news. Hope others get good news soon too.

Anyone else get this whose gone with EE?

Don't want to be the bearer of bad news (if it even is that), but I got a text from EE at a similar time, but mine said:

Mine is a iPhone 6 Space Grey 64gb. Ordered over the phone at about 9:05am.

EDIT: glassbathroom beat me to it. I am also a new customer, switching from vodafone. My work colleague just got the "within 21 days" text - he ordered same time as me, but for the iPhone 6+ 64gb in space grey.

Nah, it should just work fine your 4G when you get your new iPhone mate.

I've got a 2 year old iPhone 5 with nano SIM as well and I'm with 3.......we've just got 4G in our area and it does say 4G at the top of the handset.....but just for my own peace of mind i phoned up 3 saying whether i need a new nano SIM or not.....and they said as long as you are seeing 4G on the top of your handset then everything is fine, no need for a new SIM.

Great news for you guys! Ganna be annoyed if all the first stock does go to new customers

Fingers crossed we all get what we want

Perhaps upgrades were within messages?

Mine is a iPhone 6 Silver 64Gb - for the record. I guess the 6+s are slower to arrive (as everywhere).

Mine just changed to this too, with the same delivery dates. If it's changed so soon do you reckon it means we'll be getting them earlier? I ordered early on Friday and was surprised to have such a long wait time...

Now I can't cancel, I won't go to the Meadowhall store on Friday to collect my reservation, but I'm hoping this will arrive in the next week or so...
Yeah I think we'll get them early next week fingers crossed!

FYI people. iOS8 is out..

Thanks everyone re: if I need a new nano sim.

If I can make it to an O2 store tomorrow then I'll get one there. If not, I'll change tariff online and hope for the best. If I do end up needing a new sim, then I'm sure I'll be able to survive on 3G until it gets delivered. :p

I also haven't received a text from EE and I'm an upgrading 64gb slate grey
Who ordered about 10:25am on the phone. Hoping it's just new customers getting the texts. Will find out tomorrow if I get a text from DPD

Hey all!
mine Delivery: 10 Oct, 2014 - 17 Oct, 2014 by Standard Shipping
There is a chance it will come faster?

Anyone heard anything from Three yet? I've had no update since order confirmation and I opted for them to deliver to my local store
