UK iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus Thread

I know, but there are people on here thinking that if they pre-order the phones won't actually be shipped until the 19th thus missing the launch day.

launch day is when everyone can buy their stuff and those people who pre-orders (some pre-orders might be delayed if the demands are high) but the earliest pre-orders always get theirs on launch day, so is every pre-order I made, that's if you buy from apple directly, not sure from your phone carrier though.

Not sure what to do! I live 55 mins from Trafford Centre and I am off next friday. Should i get them delivered or go get em from the store?

I hate waiting for deliveries and it might not come all day/ at all.

Trafford Centre could be quite fun to go to and buy it from, can get breakfast out too...

To be honest mate I'd get it delivered, unless you plan on reserving one on the Friday then going to pick it up! Trafford Centre's always a nightmare even when there's no new Apple release :p also don't know their policies on allowing queues. Wouldn't run the risk.

I got my Spigen iPhone 6 case and glass screen protector in the mail today! :D
Looks very nice!

My iPhone 5 which started to have sleep/wake button issues has now gone back to normal functionality.
I received the box from Apple today to return it in today too... Got in contact with Apple and they basically said I could do what I want; either return it now or keep using it and request another repair at a later date if needed be.

I think I'll keep it for a few days just to ensure it stays functional, and then send it off to O2 Recycle when the 6 arrives. If it stops working in the mean time, then I will send it back to Apple.

But the 5S wasn't preorder last year, the midnight launch was the day it was released in stores also.

My point is that they didn't wait until 8am on release day last year to take orders online, they did it at midnight.

My guess would be that EE will start taking pre-orders at midnight tonight also.

So the pre-order time with mobile carrier is different than pre-order time direct from Apple?

Spoke to UK and DE support guys and the situation re: in store reservation seems to be only something you can do with the specific retail store directly. Both agents advised that you absolutely cannot pre-order on the 12th via Apple's online store and collect the device from an actual store on Friday 19th.

Wasn't particularly clear to me based on the text on the website.

Pre-order iPhone 6 and have it shipped to you for free, or reserve for pickup in store. You can also buy at the Apple Retail Store from 8:00 am on 19 September.

I still think it's worded badly if the online support staff are correct in what they are saying.

It's going to be an 8am pre order time, this happens every year (apart from last year with no 5s pre orders due to supple constraints)

Then the phones will be sent on the Wednesday night via UPS and be delivered on the Friday.

Apple is trying to confuse us so we're always in panic or something lol.

pretty much the same when I ordered my iPhone 5.

I just spoke to Apple UK right now and the woman on the phone said to me that they have no definite time.

They said they can't say anything, BUT the iPhone "line" is available at 8am so its possible that the iPhone pre-order will be live at 8am UK time.

She also said that this isn't set in stone and there MAY be a possibility that the pre-order could go live at 12am midnight.

So final advice for everyone:

Stay awake until 12am. If it's live, go ahead and buy. If not, at least you won't have missed the pre-order if it WAS to be at 12am, expecting it to be at 8!

So stay awake at 12am. If not, it's 8am guaranteed.

I'm still working out if I should upgrade or buy the phone outright and switch to a SIM only contract. It seems you always get better deals with them!

Sim only plan, i switch to that 4yrs ago and never looked back, and i am happier with how much i get from it, £26 a month, 1 month contract with unlimited everything! from Three.

I was deciding what to do as well. It turns out to be much cheaper by buying it outright, and then popping in a SIM-only deal. I've worked out mine to cost £779 over 2 years. With a contract (depending on network), it will be at least £900+

May I ask which glass screen protector you picked up? :D
