No, only Carphone Warehouse "SIM Free" iPhones lock to the 1st SIM you insert (god knows why).

I always assumed it was because they're "upgrade" sim-free devices, locking to whichever network your upgrade was for.
I saw someone else post a good point - it's so they don't have to have stock of O2, EE, etc seperately. They can just have generic stock of the iPhone and sell as whichever network as demand requires.

So here I am, I should be really happy that I bagged the phone I wanted (a 64 gig 6 Plus in white/silver, but instead of getting ready to enjoy it, I'm over worrying about whether I should have gone for the 128GB model.

My 64 gig 5S is more than ample, I just can't help but wonder if I should have gotten the 128, just to store even more photos and videos on it, due to it having a nicer camera/screen...

Hi everyone, first post here :)

I've been going through the forum for some time now, it seems that EE are basically the only UK mobile company where pretty much everyone has some confusion, but some people have had texts from DPD and some haven't. It also seems like most of the people who have texts ordered 6's instead of 6 Plus's.

Has anyone who ordered a 6 Plus gotten a text yet? I ordered 128GB Space Grey 6 Plus on Friday morning as an upgrade (spent 2 hours 54 minutes on the phone, and Barclays initially blocked my payment) between 10:30 and 11am. The (really nice) guy said that not many people had ordered that one (ha!) so he reckoned I'd be good for a delivery tomorrow. But I haven't had a text yet, how worried should I be?

Thanks!

(that was a longer post than I thought lol)

I'd be worried that it's not going to arrive tomorrow. But that's just me.

Its official its in transit and at my local delivery hub. Infact its about 30 miles from me and i cannot get it till tomorrow:mad:

Mine is showing EXACTLY the same, except mines was scanned at 3:51pm at Tamworth instead of 2.51pm like yours. :D

Tamworth is around 130 miles from where I live near London.

Waiting for a UK Mail update after 'Collection' and just come across this.. a bit worrying!!

Should be fine, if not, hopefully Genius Bar have some retained for faulty iPhones!

#throwingyourparcels hahahaha

OMG, hoping mines hasn't been thrown around like a sandbag by UPS :|

Hi,

I ordered 6 Plus 128GB Space Grey from EE at around 8:30 on Friday.
I have received a text from EE saying I will get it on Saturday and a text from DPD saying they are delivery it tomorrow. The tracking from DPD seems to point to a delivery tomorrow though, so I'm inclined to believe them more.

You may just have to wait a bit longer for a text and hopefully get it later on this evening. Good luck!

Mines a plus and I got the text this morning . Although it was sent to my wife's number instead of mine , it's quite amusing that I have been slating EE all week for lack of communication and all week long they've been sending messages to her and she only told me today .

Yeah, I kinda get that, but I've never understood the logic of locking handsets:

If I take out a contract with EE/Vodafone/3/O2/whoever, I'm legally contracted to pay them (for example) £60 per month.

Why on earth would (should) they care what I then do with my handset, as long as I pay them the £60 per month?

It's actually none of their business what I do with it and if I want to just put a PAYG SIM in and use that, that's my business and as long as they get their £60pm they should have no interest/control over my phone's use.

I got the 128GB because I expect it to replace my 128GB iPad mini retina.

If you aren't capping out at 64GB with your current 5S, I doubt you'd be needing double that. Stop worrying and enjoy your 6 Plus, and if you do change your mind, you've got 14 days to return it and get the 128GB version (although you may have to wait)

That says it to all with syncreon delivery.

Yup. Its been collected since 9.17 this morning. I was hoping for a 'stopped off for a coffee on the M6' notification or something by now.

At least it's not been handed over to Royal Mail who've been sat on the Olive Brown 6 Case (literally for all I know) for the past 24 hours. Thinking the phone might arrive before the case, despite the case being dispatched 3 days before hand.

Seems when UK Mail say it's with the royal mail they mean it's just got to the royal mail hub after the postman has already left.

Just spoke to UKmail regarding the delivery slot, they said that orders coming from Apple and O2 tomorrow are being delivered between 8AM and 8PM. The delivery slots are too much to handle for the driver, according to the lady on the phone.

I guess I could be waiting 12 hours for my phone :(

Seems to be a lot of mixed messages regarding this as they've also said on their twitter they will be issuing hourly slots.

8am is fine, 8pm is not! I'll be out of work 6-6:30

I've just got off the phone with EE and the women told me to ignore the text saying 28days till delivery of my 6+ 64gb space grey, it'll be 7-10days from the 19th as I ordered on the 13th. Still not acceptable really, the reason i pre ordered was to get it on release day, i might as well just cancel and visit my local CPW!

My local UPS driver looks like the T-1000 from Terminator 2

Looking forward to seeing him tomorrow :)
