I've owned every iphone and always gotten one on release day by waiting in line at the apple/verizon store. This will be my first time preordering from the apple website...

This is the UK iPhone 6 thread - I'm not too sure if anyone here would be familiar with what info you require in the US Apple/Verizon store.

Has there been confirmation of the time that pre-orders start on the Apple site for the UK yet?

I think I got the 5 a few years ago at 8am?

I'm wondering this too. The 5s was available at midnight everywhere, so the launch was staggered. But that was the official launch as there was no pre-order for the 5s (which SUCKED!)

Hey guys, I am currently on 02 but I am looking to leave ast thye're incredibly tight with their data limits. I end up getting an extra GB a month, and it's starting to rack up.

I am thinking of moving to EE or Three, as I would like about 4GB (Three's unlimited will be beautiful though!) of data, but I am not too sure about the best coverage

I presently work in Reading, my immediate family are in Luton, St Albans and Chelmsford and I will mostly likely be working in Bank (Central London) over the next few months

I presently do not get 3G data where i work in Reading, only 2G, and EE and Three do. But I am not sure about the general 4G coverage. EE seems great as they have about 70% of 4G coverage in the UK, but they seem to have a lot of complaints about outages.

Additionally, Three have decent 3/4G coverage, but no 2G data to fall back on (which is necessary for me at work in Reading). So I am wondering if there is a good choice for me?

It really boils down to EE or Three, I can't stay on 02 anymore. I need about 4GB of 4G (3G if all else fails) data, and a monthly bill of around £30-£35. I do not mind paying up to £300 for the iPhone 6 Plus.

Any help?!

So do three have no coverage where you work in reading? You say they have no 2g coverage which is true but why do you need 2g for work in reading if three provide 3G or even 4g?

Just got off Apple Chat. Here's the answer's they gave me:

What time does the pre-ordering start on the UK online Apple Store?

"We don't have an exact time but I'd recommend checking the site from midnight onwards."

What about instore reservations

"That should be available tomorrow on the retail store website. Again, we don't have a time.

Sorry I can't be more precise"

Hope that helps.

I think Apple are maybe trying to prevent a swarm of traffic hitting their servers at midnight (which will still probably happen anyway), so they're giving us vague answers.

I believe they use UPS for the courier???

Do they also deliver on Saturdays incase I somewhat miss delivery (if successful at preorder)

Hi all, it's been a while since I've posted here. New iPhone launch hype brought me back ;-)

Here's my position, I'm sure a few others are in the same one. I was out of contract last year with THREE. I decide to wait until the 6 to upgrade and drop on to a one month contract. Can I pre-order on Friday to get the iPhone and take out another 24 month contract? Or will I have to call? The website gives me the option to upgrade online at the moment, so I guess it's possible.

I asked three and three support in twitter. They both gave me opposite answers!!

I hope we can find this information out so we are prepared. I'd also like to know the time for definite when we can pre-order either on the phone or online. I'm working nights this week until 6.30am, if it's 8am I'll stay up, if it's nearer 12pm I'll go to bed. Staying up for it not to go live until 12pm would be a bit crappy, as I'd have to be up for 2pm and have work again Friday night :-( (booked the 19th off ages ago as soon as the date for the keynote was announced, assuming that would be launch date :))

Anyone got anymore Three upgrade news?

The amount of people heading over to Three, I hope their network doesn't... buckle and drag speeds down.

Anyone have any experience with Carphone Warehouse on preorders? There is an option to collect in store, just wondering if anyone ever used this for previous iPhone preorders?

Please be aware that if you order from Carphone Warehouse, even if you buy the phone outright Sim-free, they will do a credit check on you.

I had this last year when I bought my 5s sim free from them via their website. I was alerted a few days later by my credit watch service. When I complained to them about it they said it was in the terms and conditions, which like everyone else I didn't bother to read.

Just be aware of this in case you're looking to apply for credit in the near future.

It will be 8am just like every year, except for last year.

Pre orders start the same time around the world, so midnight on the west coast of the USA = 8am here.

I think I will 'upgrade' (even though it works out as cheaper :D) my O2 Simplicity contract from the current £21.50 a month for 300 mins calls, unlimited texts and 1GB 3G data to the £20 a month unlimited calls, texts and 3GB 4G data.

Not sure if I can do it online, or if I'll need to go into the store.

It's not a credit check. It's a 'soft search' of your credit file, the exact same thing that PayPal do to all new customers, as well as websites like Money Supermarket etc. The search they do is only visible to you, cannot be seen by anyone else, and does not affect your credit report/rating at all.

I'll bow to your superior knowledge on this one. I still think it's a bit of a p*s take though considering I'm not in any way applying for credit. PayPal I could understand since they effectively pay on my behalf and then take the money from my account several days later.

The service from Carphone was pretty poor too. I had it delivered to the store but it didn't come in on the day they said it would so I made a journey for nothing. They then said they'd call me if it came in the following day, which it did, but they didn't call. I won't be buying from them again this year.

Is this the best value sim only deal in the UK?
1 GB data
600 minutes,
Unlimited texts
£10.00 a month.
12 month contract

Looks like a pretty good deal

EE have stated plans will be announced before pre-orders, so that gives then... a few hours.

As has O2.

Well I'm just going to pop my 3 SIM into the new phone from Apple, that should be fine right? It's a SIM-Only contract nano SIM. Unlimited data, 200 minutes, 2000 texts or something. £12.90.

Does anyone know if we can use a gift card when pre-ordering? Apple Chat weren't helpful when I asked.

I've just been in my local Vodafone shop and had a look at the Galaxy Note 3, I think it was. Anyway it has a 5.7 inch screen with albeit smaller looking bezels than the 6+ but it felt ok in my hand, a LOT bigger than my 5s but not as big as I'd imagined. Just feel the 6 isn't that much of an upgrade from my 5s so I'm going for the 6+.
I think aaarggh!!
