I'm in the exact same position as you. EXACTLY.

I plan on buying the phone directly with Apple at 8am tomorrow, then calling up Three after work to buy the SIM-Only plan you suggested. My reason for calling up and not ordering online is that I'm hoping I'll be able to keep my current nano-SIM, which can go straight into my iPhone 6 and they'll just update the plan on that SIM. That way I'll have the same number etc. Think that'll work?

The only thing thats perhaps stopping me from buying the phone from Apple at 8am is if I call them after work (not able to til about 4pm) - do you think they may be able to offer me a cheaper deal as i've been with them two years? I agree £859 is fantastic, but does anyone think you'll be able to get anything cheaper?

There won't be any deals with the iPhone. If you want it, you'll have to pay their price.

By 4pm, I'd be very surprised if you get launch day (or perhaps even week) delivery. Normal rule of thumb is that launch stock sells out within an hour or two.

I just thought: What if I fail the credit check with Three?

I graduated in July, and don't start my new job until the end of September, so am technically unemployed.

Eeek!

Just say your a student, you should be fine.

So does anyone know how the finance option works tomorrow if I choose that?
Anyone purchased an iphone directly from apple in the past using their financing option?

How does it work? Anything to pay up front?

This is what I am planning to do as buying two, a plus for me and a 6 for the wife.

Unfortunately there may well be a delay in order going through due to finance application. Though I'm hoping due to my already having Barclays account (and it is them providing the finance) it should be instant.

The Apple store advises delivery dates may not be accurate on purchases with financing as financing can take up to 48 hours to go through. They're just covering their arse here, most finance applications are in instantly decided.

I think as long as I get on at 8 am without any hiccups, I should be done by 8.05 and therefore meet the 19/9 delivery.

To answer your question, no, there will be no upfront fee.

Anyone know if i sign a contract to get subsidized phone, do any of the networks let you pay off the remaining phone portion you owe later on so you can lower your bill. Does it also eliminate your contract terms?

Highly doubt it looks like the networks wanna screw everyone over has much as they can

That's great, thanks.

You do have a chance of failing it to be honest with you.

I only passed my credit check because I suppose I've just been in my first job for about a month.

When the iPhone 6 comes, Three told me to pop in to the local store in order to get a nano-sim. That's all there is to it.

You could do this before the iPhone 6 comes, and use a sim adaptor to fit the nano sim in your current phone. I think three stores will give you the adaptor for free.

How do you know they passed you because you'd been in your first job for a month? Three have no idea how much you passed a credit check by, or by which element you passed by.

I'm 23, so have 5 years of perfect credit history. Hopefully that's more important than being employed.

We shall see tomorrow. :)

Great, I'll just pop into the store and get my sim "pre-ready" then :)

I got a contract whilst being an unemployed student for the iPhone 5 no problem.

I wonder if they will still have the delivery delay for the north of Scotland. Last few times I preordered, there was an extra day delivery which meant we didnt get it till Monday.

What is Apple's return policy here? Can I get a 6 Plus and if I couldn't handle the big size, return it and get a 6 without any issues or should the returned phone be unopened, unused?

Think in leaning towards the 6+. Been holding a cardboard cutout and it is a whopper. This picture does out it into perspective how big ImageUploadedByTapatalk1410475261.113476.jpg

14 days return policy with apple. Doesn't natter if opened. That's my plan anyway. If I don't get on with the 6+ I'll return after a week or so and hopefully by that time there's be a little more stock around.

I've just checked and I have a 2/5 credit rating

I really hope I'll be okay

What was stock like last time round with Three?

Evening everyone! It looks like its this time of the year again :D been about a while since my last post. Hoping to get a 6+ 64gb grey delivered on launch day, hopefully pre orders go well. Never had an iPhone on release day before, what are the chances of that happening if I get my order in before 9 or is it a matter of minutes before shipping times slip?

If i recall, the 5 stock went pretty quick where as the no preorder 5S was still available for that day dispatch for a good hour or so after the online store opened.

Haha! Jinjin, I found that site and have been trying to decide on 6/6+ all day! Must say though that the extra UI elements that get added to the 6+ are very tempting and also you get OIS so pretty sure i will be going for + come 8am :)

Thanks! 64GB 6 Plus, Space Gray it is for me

It depends how much stock they have. When i got my iPhone 5 it took about an hour before delivery slipped to 1-3 weeks. At least I think it was a hour, it was two years ago.
