Thankfully there is an apple store not too far but I won't be able to get there until next weekend at the earliest.

Just really annoying, was hoping I'd be able to have a look then if I liked it come home and order/reserve one.

I know it's not a big deal and it's just an extra few weeks if I do decide to get one but seriously. They're phone shops. People go in to look at phones. You couldn't even pick them up to maybe gauge how heavy they feel they were basically caged and bolted to the side and the only visible area was the screen.

Probably to stop the local scrotes from trying to bend them! :p

Yeah. No doubt. But sadly a genuine customer was completely perplexed.

I wouldn't mind they had shelves and shelves of dummy phones of pretty much every model they sell besides iPhones.

I really don't like large screen phones. But the alternative is android, and it's not that I don't think android is capable etc, but I've had an iPhone since the 3G. And just prefer iOS . So I basically need to decide : Do I get used to a larger screen or do I get used to a different OS.

Oh well. Will try and get to the apple store next weekend and actually look at the phone. At least I know they'll have it displayed (not caged) properly.

Oh no... my phone had the blue screen and it auto restarted... Has anyone had this problem?

You iPhone is running Windows Vista?

It's a disgrace. Why on earth Apple can't source screens that don't have these issues is beyond me. Are we being taken for a ride and all this stuff about quality is just hot air?

Having given up on the 6 due to 3 devices with dead pixels, I've gone for a 6+. On my second one - both had great screens but both have scratches around the home button. The first was quite bad, the second one very minor and given the other issues out there definitely a keeper. Looks like a manufacturing process issue where some of the assembly machines are scuffing the screens during assembly.

It's normal.

When I bought my Samsung smart TV I had to go twice back to the shop to exchange it due to dead pixels..

3rd time lucky got a TV with no dead pixels!

Previously I've ordered the phone as soon as possible but not being a fan of bigger phones I decided to go and see the phone first before ordering.

Went to my local shopping centre today. All phone shops had the new iPhones basically caged to the shelf so all you can do it touch the centre of the screen. I understand they need to do this for security but it gives the shopper zero idea if they actually like the phone or not. How it feels in the hand, how one handed use would be etc. I asked if any had a dummy of it for me to look at and actually get a feel of the phone but none did.

So I went to four different phone shops (CPW, EE, Virgin, O2) and I still have absolutely no idea if I like the phone or not.

I got my 6 direct from Apple on day of release, but was curious about what a 6+ would actually be like to hold. Popped into my local 3 store, explained the scenario, and he just popped throught the back and got their demo 6+ for me to have a play with.

I thought that was pretty decent of them, considering they knew there was no sale in it for them.

I'm thinking of ringing apple soon, still now movement on my iPhone

My cousins phone which was scheduled to arrive for 9 to 14th which albeit is a iPhone 6 not a plus is out for delivery today so yours has to move soon. Keep hope

Anyone ordering on or after the 20th September expecting their iPhone 6 or 6+ to move from "processing items" to "preparing for dispatch" this week?

my iPhone 6+ hasn't moved from processing since i ordered it (on the 20th). Was kind of hoping for some movement this week, because my mum has got 2 weeks off work, so she will be in to collect delivery, while i'm at university and work.

In on three and popped into my local O2 shop and explained I just wanted to look at a plus she was very friendly and helpful and wasted no time in getting the device out the back. She knew I had one ordered from Apple and was with a different network.

She was so nice I actually bought some screen protectors even though they are over priced ha ha.

It's got a dead pixel but I really can't be bother with all that sending back! These things attract dust like hell!

Send you phone back I just got my replacement phone today all perfect only phoned up on Tuesday
replacement sent out on wednesday night.

My TNT shipment just delayed

I ordered a 64gb silver plus on the 12th and it's been preparing for dispatch since Monday evening. I hope you have better luck than me.

If anyone is waiting for a silver 6, i have a new one for sale in the Marketplace for Apple retail price.

Just thought i would mention it here and help a fellow forum member get one today. :)

I used to work in a phone shop, we got told that Apple doesn't supply dummy versions as they only want people to see the real thing. We did usually get given a model to keep in the stock room just to show people who wanted to see how heavy it was etc.

Although half the staff would usually have an iPhone within a couple of days of release anyway, so I would just pull out my own and let people see it as long as they didn't seem too dodgy
