4s did, last year was such a cock up I can't actually remember what happened.

There were no pre-orders of the 5s, possibly because of supply constraints. The result was absolute mayhem at Apple Stores with most of those queuing being potential scalpers and exporters. It was an awful experience.

I was set on getting a 4.7" iPhone 6 and now I'm leaning more to the Plus. I want the better battery and the better resolution and sized screen is a plus. I would have liked them to get display models out in stores to see and hold before sale, but its the way it is and Gold 16 GB Plus it is for me by the looks of it.

What are thoughts on the 64gb plus on a contract in terms of up front cost and monthly cost going on previous iPhones, I'd like to stick with Three on the 600 mins with unlimited texts and data?

I ordered a case from Amazon UK for a fiver (link) to get a feel of the size of the 5.5 model and bloody hell its quite big.

It seems like it would be manageable but would take some getting used to.

That's the one, I remember ordering on actual release day online now, only for it to arrive a few weeks later.

Sounds like we may be back to an iPhone 5 level of stock this year if we can pre-order.

Last year there was no preorders. I've never preordered, but do Apple have like a limited stock available for pre-orders or is it open for preorders indefinitely until actual release day? If it's limited, how long would you estimate the preorder window to last for, roughly?

Thanks :)

With the 5 you could order for the first few hours on the pre-order day and still get it on launch, as the hours/days went on the delivery dates got pushed back.

They stay open but depending on stock normally within a few hours (or sometimes less) most models will have changed to 1-3 weeks lead time rather than delivery on release day.

I'll be getting the 128GB 6 Plus in silver. I have an iPad Air but I still want and will benefit from the larger 6 Plus.

I really want to see the phones before deciding so the best way is to queue up over night outside the apple store as they put the phones in the window by 7am and make the decision then. I could always get both and return one i guess.

I see we may have the option to reserve for stor pick up. Does that mean we pay online and collect or pay in store when we collect?

Think I've decided on a iPhone 6 64GB in Space Grey!

I have a 4G iPad Air so the Plus doesnt make sense in that respect.

Ah ok, so basically first-come first-serve ish. Best to get the order in within the first few hours (or minutes) then. :p
