gutted to have missed out on the launch day stock for a 6+ 64GB in space grey. First time to not get some release day stock :(

Is it wrong to blame my 4 year old and the face he 'had' to go to school!

got through on mobile safari where it showed available for the 19th and by the time I got to checkout it has slipped to 7-10 days. \

Ordered a silicon case too and that seems to ship "October".

I will have to see if I can pick up one in an Apple store in the time before it dispatches.

I'd imagine they'll have free stock. Though I think generally with walk ups you can't go in there expecting to get what you want. Most people I've heard from had to compromise on capacity or colour.

Apparently they're making it an online queue system which should ease the burden. In the past they used cards and it would be soaked up by scalpers and people trying to push in.

Sorry to ask - How would an online queue system work?

You apparently, "i had the business acumen" but have no idea, "how much profit can i reasonably expect to make?"

Also how can you guarantee 6 people will receive iPhones on launch day when you yourself will only (possibly) receive them on launch day? Are you hand-delivering or couriering them? Don't forget to deduct this from your gross profit...

But you already knew that, since you have the business acumen.

i will be hand delivering them around london once i sell them on ebay on the morning of launch day. i have a zone 1-6 annual travel card, so my travel costs are already paid for.
all it requires is bidders in london to bid on my phones. i will go to them. i make it quite clear in my ebay postings.

and i was just asking as its likely there are people who have re-sold iphones previously on launch day.

who hoo, 6 in space grey and 6 Plus in gold ordered. Delivery 19/9.

I can't see a hold on my credit card but HSBC say they've authorised it :)

Reservation stock is showing depleted for some models so I believe that it works however I assume most will pick 8-9 pickup time. Wonder if they will have a separate queue for reservations

Has anybody actually managed to upgrade through O2?

The site is still down nearly 2 hours later yet I am seeing on twitter that people are being told out of stock and systems are down all at the same time lol What a shambles.

I really hope they use UPS for me this year. In the past they've used TNT and UKMail, both have been terrible in my area (neither have depots around us, so drivers get overwhelmed with Apple deliveries and usually deliveries take up to 10pm, sometimes moves to Saturday). I've always had a pretty stressful delivery day for Apple launches :D

I just hope you guys that ordered it with delivery next Friday don't suffer from carrier backlog because that weekend wait will be very painful

thats nice of you, wishing violence on me purely because i had the business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit to successfully order 6 phones for re-sale.

its a win-win situation.
6 people are guaranteed iphones on launch day from me.
i make money.

all i'm asking is how much profit can i reasonably expect to make?
no need to get nasty.

Maybe if you're a 11 year old but lets not act like you had an ingenious idea. You didn't, it's just a lot of people have a bit of a moral compass not to be shady and buy up stock and resell them on.

Scalpers and touts are the lowest of low. Don't kid yourself that you're being a slick businessmen, you're not, you're just one of the few people who are so morally bankrupt to want to do it.

Yes I am sceptical of it too.

It says that every single iphone is available in pretty much all the shops (all of London, Manchester, Newcastle etc). Seems too good to be true.

I can sense the reservations being an absolute disaster.

The 6+ is showing as Unavailable in most stores though so hopefully that's a good sign. I'm sure the stores have a huge supply and the link to reserve is hidden so well it probably isn't getting used very much.

You ordered 45mins after pre-ordering finally opened, that's what you have to expect.

Like I said - I appreciate I made my own mistakes...

I guess I just expected a specific time (I assumed 8am but checked at 6 and 7)... Then it was none.

I'm not going to cry too much about it - merely just a rant about things not working properly. Maybe if people have reserved they will cancel and I'll get bumped up the queue. But grrrr!

i'm not a scalper. its a free market economy. if people want to pay at inflated price from me, that is their choice. they don't have to. i'm not screwing anyone out of a phone or forcing them to buy off me.

*NEWSFLASH* Apple makes profit off every product they sell. they are scalpers and touts according to your logic.

Fair enough. I picked up a reserve just in case. I had to get it shipped to my home address as I don't know my university address yet as they're refusing to release flat/room numbers until moving in. Problem is my parents are going away so no one will be in the house to sign for it there which would mean it gets RTSed.

Hoping I can contact Apple when I have my new address to get the shipping changed. If not I can pick it up Eldon Square. And cancel the order/reservation whichever is applicable.

Why would anyone want to use O2 anyway? Their network is proven to be unreliable and has had lots of major lengthy outages with feeble explanations, especially last year. I know lots of people who have lost lots of business because of outages lasting 12 hours or more. This is completely unacceptable.

I suffered UKMail last year - I sat at home and kept tracking online through the day and about 4:30pm noticed my status changed to a failed delivery saying no-one was at home. I phoned the local TNT depot (a challenge in itself) who contacted the driver and then told me he'd be back with me in 30 mins.

When he turned up, I asked him if he'd got the wrong address - his only reply was to moan that he couldn't be bothered to work till 7pm as it was Friday and he hadn't seen his girlfriend for 3 days, so basically once it got to 4:00 he'd just decided to call it a day and say no-one had been in for the several dozen iPhones he still had left on his van!

had my confirmation email at 8.43..

order seems to show arrival between 30Sept-3Oct..

think I'm over not getting one next week already, just thankful I didn't sell my 5S early!

Anybody else getting "We're Sorry. Something went wrong with your request. Please try again later." on the check order status page on the Apple website? Last time I checked my order was "We have received your order".

EDIT: Of course, as soon as I post this, the page comes back up...
