What a ridiculous launch.... First the live steam and now yet again they've cocked up the pre orders :(

From 6am I've been refreshing, but on iPad with ios8 (where most of the address is hidden). At some point clearly I redirected to the U.S. store (still down?!)

I've now ordered a 6 plus, white 128, but with a delivery of 3-4 weeks  ordered about 9:15 our time...

Then I tried looking for the reserve system, and clearly I'm a moron because I can only seem to access it via the link yorkshireblonde provided above - all unavailable.

Does the reservation system mean there is no point queuing outside an Apple Store, or could that be my last option?

I don't like to moan normally, and I appreciate a lot of the above is my fault, but once again it feels like a massive mess up....

You ordered 45mins after pre-ordering finally opened, that's what you have to expect.

I've just reserved one for collection in the Covent Garden store on launch day. Why does that seem too easy?? Granted it was tough to find the reserve link, but still.

Yes I am sceptical of it too.

It says that every single iphone is available in pretty much all the shops (all of London, Manchester, Newcastle etc). Seems too good to be true.

I can sense the reservations being an absolute disaster.

hi guys,

i've ordered 6 iphones 128gb. a variety of store pick up, deliviries, etc. all on different cards.
I'm going to sell them all on. whats a good price to list them all on ebay?
how much profit do you think i will make?

thanks,

oonnnnneeeee mmmillliioonn english pounds! ;)

Actually, its not a bad idea. Just add 10-15% to your prices minimum and you should sell easy imho. But there are some people out there that will pay ridiculous prices. Probably won't get more than 25% on your outlay...

Maybe i should order another one....

You're really not going to win many friends on here with that. Generally scalpers are viewed as the lowest of the low when it comes to iPhone launches, especially when people who genuinely want phones for themselves can no longer get them at launch because people like you have bought up several to turn a quick buck.

Don't worry, todays pre-order launch was a disaster in many peoples eyes, for MANY reasons.

Well hopefully you'll get robbed on the way home so profit would be in the form of bruises I guess?

Hope this helps xx

thats nice of you, wishing violence on me purely because i had the business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit to successfully order 6 phones for re-sale.

its a win-win situation.
6 people are guaranteed iphones on launch day from me.
i make money.

all i'm asking is how much profit can i reasonably expect to make?
no need to get nasty.

Anyone gone for the finance option?
I got a 16Gb iPhone 6 and spread the cost over 12 months at £48 a month. In total I pay about £40 more for the phone. What a great deal!! Over the moon with that!!

:)

Ordered: 8:38am
Bank: Halifax
iPhone: iPhone 6 Plus 64GB

ORDER NOW MOVED TO PROCESSING WITH DELIVERY DATE OFF 19/9
:apple:

What's the point of ordering early if I get a delivery date of 10th - 17th October? Ordered it around 8.45 UK time when I eventually got onto the store. No option to collect from store

The website was up and running around 8:23am, so you were too late, they receive 1000's of orders a second.

they can still buy iphones. from me.
i'm not removing any from circulation. i'm not keeping any.

ordered at 8.42am. Card was declined twice- recieved a text from barclays at 8.40am- for fraud checking.

replied to text with "Y"

Said retry in 2 mins! Woah... i was pi$$ed.... 2 mins wait can be between a 19th delivery and 7-10day wait...

I tried phone app, tried mac chrome and safari - but nothing. Tried safari on iphone- nothing.. then tried chrome on iphone and I managed to get through to the store.

Placed an order and declined again! Waited for a few more seconds and then tried again and it finally went through! Set for 19th Delivery.

Checked Barclays phone app asap and amount was successfully taken.

Thanks for the info - i want the Silver Plus and 64GB - No joy at all.

Do you think the stores will have a few for us unlucky ones who'll have to que from silly o'clock??

I'd imagine they'll have free stock. Though I think generally with walk ups you can't go in there expecting to get what you want. Most people I've heard from had to compromise on capacity or colour.

Apparently they're making it an online queue system which should ease the burden. In the past they used cards and it would be soaked up by scalpers and people trying to push in.

You apparently, "i had the business acumen" but have no idea, "how much profit can i reasonably expect to make?"

Also how can you guarantee 6 people will receive iPhones on launch day when you yourself will only (possibly) receive them on launch day? Are you hand-delivering or couriering them? Don't forget to deduct this from your gross profit...

But you already knew that, since you have the business acumen.
