thats nice of you, wishing violence on me purely because i had the business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit to successfully order 6 phones for re-sale.

its a win-win situation.
6 people are guaranteed iphones on launch day from me.
i make money.

all i'm asking is how much profit can i reasonably expect to make?
no need to get nasty.

It's not win-win though is it?

Because apple implement a 2 phone per order/person for a REASON. To stop people like you buying god knows how many, selling them on for hundreds of £s more on eBay or wherever else.

You can do what you want by all means, but coming to a forum and thread asking people how much profit you think you're going to make when people are annoyed because the iPhones delivery date has been pushed back, BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU ORDERING MULTIPLE OF THEM.

i'm not a scalper. its a free market economy. if people want to pay at inflated price from me, that is their choice. they don't have to. i'm not screwing anyone out of a phone or forcing them to buy off me.

*NEWSFLASH* Apple makes profit off every product they sell. they are scalpers and touts according to your logic.

How do you work that one out? A scalper is someone who buys up stock with the intention to sell above RRP. It's not just 'making a profit'. If a retail chain did the same I would be equally as disgusted in that behaviour.

Theres a reason why gig tickets are clamping down on touts and a reason why Apple are implementing electronic queue reservations. It's to restrict resellers like you who out to make a quick dime.

It's a free market economy, absolutely, but that doesn't mean you have a divine right to be immune from criticism from cheap profiteering.

Anybody else getting "We're Sorry. Something went wrong with your request. Please try again later." on the check order status page on the Apple website? Last time I checked my order was "We have received your order".

Yup I had the same. Just try later.

Based on past experiences, peoples status change at different times, but all those who had a confirmed delivery date of 19th will get their phones that day.

Only model left for 19/9 delivery is the 16GB Space Grey... Can't see it lasting much longer.

EDIT: Of course, as soon as I post this, the page comes back up...

Yep same here.. but order shows fine on iphone app...

Your definition of a scalper was incorrect.
You are a scalper, Apple is not.

You aren't keeping them all for yourself but you are forcing real people who would have been able to pay standard price at pre-order, to pay your higher price.

You did take them out of circulation. You took them out of the pre-order allotment, that someone with intention to keep the phone and use the phone would have been able to pay standard price for.

i never claimed to be immune from criticism. But why do you have no issue by apple massively overcharging you for a phone????

That's all I'm getting at the minute, last time I looked it my order was at Processing Items

Friend of mine tried flipping iphones launch day 2 years ago, ended up losing money on all of them after ebay had taken their cut.
If you've had to come on here to find out how much profit you should sell them for then you'll probably go the same way.

The clever scalpers (that's exactly the term for what you're doing) already have buyers before they spend their own money.

gutted to have missed out on the launch day stock for a 6+ 64GB in space grey. First time to not get some release day stock :(

Is it wrong to blame my 4 year old and the face he 'had' to go to school!

got through on mobile safari where it showed available for the 19th and by the time I got to checkout it has slipped to 7-10 days. \

Ordered a silicon case too and that seems to ship "October".

I will have to see if I can pick up one in an Apple store in the time before it dispatches.

HAHA, you too?

I did a quick check before the school run; sites not responding. Then after school run, the delivery date slipped!

The sacrifices we make for our children, eh?

i will be hand delivering them around london once i sell them on ebay on the morning of launch day. i have a zone 1-6 annual travel card, so my travel costs are already paid for.
all it requires is bidders in london to bid on my phones. i will go to them. i make it quite clear in my ebay postings.

and i was just asking as its likely there are people who have re-sold iphones previously on launch day.

Wow, you're taking a MASSIVE risk - I'd say whenever I've sold an iPhone on eBay, 50% of the time I've had to cancel the final transaction as it's obviously been a scammer. I'd say there's a seriously high chance that either someone will lure you to an address and rob you, or at best they'll just pay by PayPal and then say they never got the phone at which point PayPal will just refund their money from your account.

And as for legitimate buyers, once they've paid you an inflated price, I hope you're going to explain the hoops they're going to have to jump through to get Apple to provide any warranty cover with them not being the original buyers...

Has anybody actually managed to upgrade through O2?

The site is still down nearly 2 hours later yet I am seeing on twitter that people are being told out of stock and systems are down all at the same time lol What a shambles.

You're right, complete non-sense from O2 again. It was like this two years ago with the iPhone 5. I gave up after 45 minutes and bought a sim-free model from Apple. Will likely find a sim-free option through another network now.

Ha thats a button I will NOT be using :p

and the iPhone 6 128gb at £499

hi guys,

i've ordered 6 iphones 128gb. a variety of store pick up, deliviries, etc. all on different cards.
I'm going to sell them all on. whats a good price to list them all on ebay?
how much profit do you think i will make?

thanks,

when would anyone who ordered when it was '7-10 days' expect their order status to change? Mines at 'we've received your order'.. i guess it will stay like that for a few weeks now..
