UK iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus Thread

I got the iPhone case when I brought my 6+ last year and recently it started to split and they swapped that for me with no fuss what so ever.
 
Just remembered something. With iOS 9 can't we download apps through Xcode without a developer account? I wouldn't mind downloading gba4ios That was a great app before it stopped working.

Yup, you no longer need a dev account to sideload apps onto your devices.

Edit: I mean, so long as they're buildable in Xcode, I've not yet seen anyone show sideloading of a fully pre-build third party .ipa.
 
Did a live chat with an Apple advisor earlier. My Silver 128GB 6S+ has been at preparing to Ship for about 5 days now and I was just curious what courier Apple may use. They told me that no courier had been assigned to me yet but they use UPS Mail UK and TNT. This feels like it is getting a bit late in the day now to not even assign couriers.

Yeah both orders still say PFD. I'm not worried about it.

I'm guessing tracking info hasn't yet been added, I believe it usually takes apple around 24 hours to generate that.

Wonder if the UPS workaround to track devices early using your phone number as reference still works...

I just checked mine, unfortunately it still says "Preparing for Dispatch" I do hope we get to follow it all the way from China like Santa Claus :cool:

For me it made sense to pay for the 50gb tier of iCloud storage circa £10/year compared to paying nearly £100 more for a 128gb compared to a 64gb. I'll see how I am next year for the 7 to see if I need more.
 
THREE SIM INFO:

I'm sorry I don't remember who needed a new sim and to get their tariff transferred. Hubby went into our local Three store lunchtime and they gave him a nano sim with an adaptor to use until the 6s arrives. Everything switched over in under an hour and he doesn't now need to try and activate a sim on launch day! *phew*

I did exactly the same when the 5 came out. Walked into a Three store a few days before and they gave me a new SIM and adapter and all switched over within an hour or two.

Lol. I've got the 200GB option but as I said I just don't trust "optimise device storage" to work right. Until someone I actually know shows me it doing the job right I'll continue to offload photos and videos to the iMac or OneDrive. Cynical about Apple's cloud services? Me?

I'm with you. I back up all my stuff to my nas but after using Apple Music I'm tempted to carry on with it or Spotify. 64gb seems plenty for now for the photos and 4K video I'll have been archiving.

Now I just need to back up my backup!

Bought one of these today to use until Friday - EE Rook, £60 on Amazon being delivered tomorrow. I'll sell it soon as iP6s get here.

Three gave me a SIM card adapter, where EE told me I need to buy a new SIM for £10, then another £10 when I needed a Nano SIM card again.

Well, Mr A. Christianson recommends at least two backups one of which offsite. I worked it out once and if I followed the backup advice of all the podcasters it would cost me about £2000 in drives. I'm sure they think we all have nothing better to do than backup the backups of our backup backups in case a backup ever fails. :D

The case for my new phone arrived today! :D Just plain black until I find something else (Ringke, if anyone is interested. Ordered it last Saturday night, arrived today).

Maybe it's just taking longer to sell due to the amount of people who are upgrading to the 6S/6S+. I listed my perfect condition iPhone 5 16GB on gumtree a couple of days ago and it sold in under a day.

Yea tracking from China would be so fun! If it comes from the uk I will only get like 4 tracking scans from ups
