Maybe Barclays are just pissed we have not bought their new fob things as we have a fully functioning NFC phone to do just the job? There s money to be made, but they won't be having mine 😛

My trusty iPhone 5 has been everywhere with me since launch day in 2012. It's been dropped on floors, buried in the sand, submerged in a city centre water fountain and dunked in a pint. It has always continued to function perfectly (and is aesthetically sound, thanks to a trusty case that requires a folded £5 note behind it to keep it tight).

Only today has it started to give in...

Just as I was closing an old bank account, in the hope of freeing up future credit to purchase the next insanely overpriced Apple release, the speaker crackled and faded out.

You have served me well iPhone 5, but you know it's time to move on.

Barclays still try to push their own solution, obviously they are not keen to pay Apple some margin on usage.

I ordered direct from Apple and no dispatch/tracking number yet. Would be nice to just know it's on route/in the UK etc

LOL aww, well that does sound like a nice way to spend the day waiting, hopefully not too long of a wait though! I'm going to be having laser eye surgery done on Friday and someone will be at home to accept the delivery but chances are my eyes will be too sensitive after surgery to even use it but I'm hoping I can use sunglasses and have the brightness turned right down because I've already made a back up of my iPhone 6 Plus and cleaned it off to give to my sister so I need an iPhone with everything restored back on to it back in my life ASAP!
