Any news on Apple orders, I'm still on preparing for dispatch. I just want the tracking number so I can watch it make its way towards me!!!

No but apple said

  • OK, so your order is scheduled to deliver on Friday. It will dispatch later today, or tomorrow. You will receive an email once it has dispatched with tracking information.

Delivery is normally between 9am and 6pm

I've stupidly ordered a 16GB 6s but really regretting this and want a 64GB. What are the rules on return (bought from apple.com)

I'm not sure how I will resist opening on release day but seems like a silly thing to do...
I'm still 100 odd posts from reading this thread fully so likely someone's already replied but you have 14 days to return your order. Online orders can't be returned in store so have to post back. And iirc the 14 days is for you to submit your returns request not for them to have received your phone*

* I'd double check to be safe on this

I clicked on the 'chat now' button next to my iPhone order on Apple Uk's site and had a good covno with someone called Stephanie! She checked my postcode and confirmed it is due for delivery on Friday and I should get a dispatch email & tracking number over the next 24 hours! So keep an eye out folks! :)

Truth be told I can't really afford to go and buy a phone in store as well BUT if my online order isn't delivered then I will just tell Apple to RTS and not deliver it and hopefully process my refund faster.
If your courier has it they'll likely hold onto the phone and reattempt delivery a few times and hold onto it longer before then send back to Apple.

Sorry to be pedantic, but it doesn't say it will be delivered on launch day.

It says "Delivers 25/9 in most areas by Standard Shipping".

Thats Apple's get out clause.

I don't think so. The reason they phrase it that way is because there are certain Scottish Highland post codes where they can't guarantee delivery for launch day. It even states that on their web site.

Did anyone order via finance? I did around 10.30am on the 12th and my order is sitting at "Processing" with an estimate of around 5th-9th of October. When I ordered it said 25th though. The final confirmation did take until around 6pm to come through after the finance confirmation around 11am. I presume I won't be getting it on the 25th (An iPhone 6s Plus 128gb Space Grey)? I think the phone isn't held until the final confirmation email unfortunately:(

I ordered on the Apple website via PayPal finance. Mine is preparing to ship and I have my serial number in the support profile

I ordered mine on 14th September

The Apple Store in Edinburgh wasn't open last year for the last iPhone launch. Not that I will be queuing but I'm interested to see the turn out on my way to work on Friday morning :)

Unfortunately you won't get it on the 25th - see http://www.apple.com/uk/shop/browse/popup/product1/delivery which says "*Delivery dates are only applicable if you paid with a credit card, debit card or other form of immediate payment."

It sounds like your finance is yet to be approved - hope you don't have to wait too long!

it appears to be time for another public service update:

IF YOU HAVE ORDERED VIA APPLE..

YOUR PHONE WILL STILL CURRENTLY BE PREPARING FOR DISPATCH. WE ARE ALL IN THE SAME BOAT. THIS IS PERFECTLY NORMAL. YOU ARE NOT THE ONE IN A MILLIONTH EXCEPTION TO THE RULE. YOU NEEDN'T BE WORRIED.

IF IT STATES "DELIVERS 25/9" AND YOUR NOT IN A FAR AWAY PLACE. IT WILL ARRIVE 25/9....

other helpful hints:

- what do i do if i miss a delivery?..... don't miss it!

- a bird flew past at the time i ordered, will i get my phone?..... no, because the bird will have disrupted your phone signal causing a temporary delay to apples servers and pushing your delivery date back to sometime in 2019

- is it normal that I have spent longer on the apple chat service than talking to my partner?..... yes at
this time of the year it is perfectly normal to be totally unaware of any major life events taking place. things will return to normal once the "newness" has eroded from your new phone.

Other helpful FAQs:

  • I ordered five phones from Apple, reserved eight at my local Apple store, and four at another one in case there's an earthquake at the first one... Am I being greedy? YES, and you're a disgrace to humanity.
  • Will be unlocked iPhone 6s that I ordered from Apple be unlocked? YES
  • Will my locked phone that I bought from EE be locked to EE? YES
  • Is this thread a massive merry-go-round of inane questions? YES
