Anyone's UKMAIL tracking details showed up yet? I assume it's the 10 digit number beginning with 8 and your post code that's required ?

Mines still showing no results.

I wouldn't expect them to start showing up until sometime today. Even though they must have been scanned into the UKMail systems by now somewhere surely? Unless Syncreon only release them to the parcel folk today.

Yeh ive read that but how do you prove that!

5 years down line your WIFI chip burns out, how can you prove your wifi didn't work when you purchased it?

The 2 years is a EU law so its straight forward. Beyond 2 years there will be a lot of clauses and loopholes for Apple to refuse you!

I once called Apple care up and asked about this 6 year thing! He told me that your iPhone should work for 6 years if not we fix it! But i'd love to hear someone taking in an iphone 4 in now and saying my home button doesnt work!! It didnt work properly when i bought it and id like to claim under the EU rules. Lol!!
Yeah that's true, definitely more straightforward at two years. Just depends how Apple want to argue with its customers I guess, thankfully it sounds as if they aren't looking to weasel out of their responsibilities in the same way that some companies do!

My sisters iPhone 5 stopped being responsive after 15months .. Apple replaced it no questions. I waved the two year warranty thing at them and they agreed it was built to last longer than 15months!

That is a key part of the U.K. Sale of Goods Act consumer protection; the product should last for a reasonable amount of time. Clearly an iPhone should last at least two years (and given there are people on this thread upgrading from iPhone 4's, they can last for much longer than that!). I guess whether it's UK law or not, if the EU two year warranty thing works, then that's a good thing!

Thanks! Will try that later too, still not working for me. Mustn't have been logged via that number yet I suppose.

Don't panic, mine isn't showing up anywhere either. It will. No point us getting stressed, they'll turn up. And we'll get no other information until the time slot notification on Friday so knowing where it is won't help us anyway :)

I appreciate it feels more direct to buy from the company which designed and arranged for its manufacture, but practically speaking if you buy it from somewhere else you have 2 separate parties with refund/replacement/repair responsibility if anything goes wrong. Buy it from Apple and you have the 1.
From experience John Lewis are the most helpful and generous retailer in the UK when it comes to after sales support, more than Apple, sadly.

It wouldn't be so bad if these things and their accessories didn't break, but they just do.

I agree with that, I've had to argue with Apple in the past (albeit quite a long time ago, they might be better now) to get them to meet their statutory responsibilities, but never had even a suggestion of a problem with John Lewis' customer service. Plus John Lewis give you free coffee and cake vouchers ☕️

Just got an email through from Apple saying I can go to a store tomorrow and buy an iPhone 6S. Pity these are "do not reply" addresses I'd love to reply with something like "wanna bet on that?" :D

All this stuff on the extended warranty...

It's only a hardware warranty. Not accidental damage.

In my experience at least, iPhones aren't the sort of things that just go wrong after a year. The extra year of warranty is so overrated. They only offer it for free because no-one ends up using it.
+1!

Exactly it's a hardware warranty. If my £700 phone developed a fault or issue after one year of using it Apple would feel my wrath. Plus i have insurance through my bank for when I'm drunk

Same for the other number.

Yeah that sounds correct, above should look similar to mine. The information won't be updated with location and such until they're unloaded out of the holding area.

Well no change to my order status on Apple! Still saying preparing for dispatch!! I have a feeling this isn't gonna turn out well!! :(

Wow John Lewis offering a 2 yr warranty & saying they'll have stock in for collection tomorrow?? Hmmm that's tempting but unable to cancel with Apple as it's at the PFD stage!! God I really hope it gets dispatched today!!

Has anyone else had a crap load of emails? I'd like to add I've only reserved one for my girlfriend.

Mine is being delivered.

Hmm mine doesn't say that bit about the holding area though...

Maybe your depot gets to work earlier than mine :D
