No movement for me with UK Mail (website tracking) via o2 but then again my order seemed to be a few hours behind some others on here in terms of updates. Don't expect the van to leave the depot just yet so can't see anything to track until later tonight.

Still, the Parcel Delivery app does give me 'tracking info' which just consists of scans. It's in the van. But that fan ain't shifting yet.

i have gone through o2 and my number doesn't exist at the moment on the ukmail website. Tried the paracel app nothing on that either fingers crossed.

UK Mail have a new hub at Ryton. Wasn't open last time I went past but it should be by now so it's probably at the hub already.
Syncreon is in Hinckley which is just the other side of Coventry and the new UK Mail depot has opened recently in Ryton. I will be there this evening on other business (not UK Mail but just next door).

I don't think JL will be as accommodating about returning used / open stock as Apple. So I wouldn't open unless you intend to keep

Terms & conditions

  • If you're unhappy with your purchase, please let us know. Unless faulty, we'd like this to be within 90 days of purchase
  • If you return your item to one of our shops and you'd like a refund but don't have your receipt, order confirmation or delivery note, we'll give you a gift card to the value of the current selling price. Ordinarily if you have your receipt or delivery note we'll refund the original debit, credit or charge card used to purchase
  • It's important that any unwanted item, unless faulty, is returned in a re-saleable condition. We'd expect this to mean that you've kept all original packaging and labels, and that it's undamaged and unused
  • We'll refund any delivery charges you've paid if you return an entire order (UK orders only)

See full terms and conditions here, and information on Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013

Also you are likely to want to insert a sim card to use the phone which will lock it to a carrier which I would say makes it used and unsaleable at full RP!

I can confirm this, I had an absolute nightmare returning an iPad Air to John Lewis the year they came out. I had only had it around 2 weeks and they were refusing to take it back because I had activated it.

It took a loud argument and the general manager to begrudgingly authorise the return in the end, even though I demonstrated it had a fault.

Apple refunds/returns have always been MUCH easier.

Looks like UKMail have delayed mine until Monday :(

Mine's still sitting at "Booked/Awaiting Collection" so now I'm concerned after seeing yours. Although, how can it be delayed at 06:00 then collected after that but still have a Monday delivery date? Weird

Hopefully mine will be delivered tomorrow. Like most Apple launches, I am pretty excited (especially since im upgrading from a 5S!).

I upgraded with Vodafone. Has anyone else going through them recieved their DPD number yet? I only have the vodafone tracking and its currently still at this stage (see image) - Is anyone else in the same boat?

I'm in the same boat as you re: Vodafone. Still there's the rest of today for it to update (hopefully)!

trust me wait until much later tonight midnight or 1-2am that's when it will update sayings its left the main hub or arriving soon to a local depot.

there systems aren't as good to constantly update, its a lot of traffic going through

My iPhone on Apple Website has now. On Thursday. Gone to "preparing for despatch"

Iv got tracking info for my O2 phone but not showing up.

Anyone wanna put money on how many phones if any turn up at my house tomorrow.

I'm a PH33 postcode. So it's not likely.

That's exactly what mine says, both for 6S+ gold and rose gold. Crossing fingers too tightly to type properly here!

Thanks for your advice. I'll steer clear from JL.

Now my predicament is I have a 6S due for delivery tomorrow. I'm happy to not open it and purchase a 6S+ separately to trial it. What would be my best option - try for an Apple reservation each morning next week?

I think it would only take me three days to realise whether I can live with the 6S+. If I can, then that still gives me ample time to return the 6S. Does anyone have a better strategy?

At least you got a time, mine is just delivered by the end of the day.
Does it give you a time that you can pick up from the depot? I may try that myself
No it doesn't give me a time to pick it up. I suppose I can pick it up during opening times? Since UPS opens at 8am. I shall be there at 8am on the dot

Apologies to bump my own post, but I think it may have been lost amongst all this delivery notification chat.

I think I may order an iPhone 6S+ from John Lewis and play with it over the weekend with my three sim. Will this affect my returns options if I don't get on with it? The network locking has worried me.

I'll just keep my 6S from Apple boxed up and ready to go as a backup.

Cheers

John Lewis are excellent, however they don't take opened electronics back unless they're faulty as far as I know. Apple however, will let you open it and use it taking care for 14 days.

Does anyone have any info on this?

Well I now have tracking for UPS but it only says they have received a digital order for my delivery... that is a bit disconcerting. I would hope for Shipped or in Transit by now.

In the linked website it says to do that if you're upgrading, there's a different procedure for the downgrade:

But I'll still give it a try when I go back home

It just changes the OS version, leaving all contents and settings in place - you just put it into DFU mode without first wiping anything and then it updates the firmware. Very simple!

The Apple support document you linked to in a previous post said after the restore you needed to use an archived backup? That would mean my device was reset to the day I upgraded to iOS 9? Can you explain how you did the downgrade because it sounds different to Apples own advice. Sorry for being so stupid  it sounds like you did not need to use a backup but just changed the iOS version ....
