Apologies to bump my own post, but I think it may have been lost amongst all this delivery notification chat.

I think I may order an iPhone 6S+ from John Lewis and play with it over the weekend with my three sim. Will this affect my returns options if I don't get on with it? The network locking has worried me.

I'll just keep my 6S from Apple boxed up and ready to go as a backup.

Cheers

I don't think JL will be as accommodating about returning used / open stock as Apple. So I wouldn't open unless you intend to keep

Terms & conditions

  • If you're unhappy with your purchase, please let us know. Unless faulty, we'd like this to be within 90 days of purchase
  • If you return your item to one of our shops and you'd like a refund but don't have your receipt, order confirmation or delivery note, we'll give you a gift card to the value of the current selling price. Ordinarily if you have your receipt or delivery note we'll refund the original debit, credit or charge card used to purchase
  • It's important that any unwanted item, unless faulty, is returned in a re-saleable condition. We'd expect this to mean that you've kept all original packaging and labels, and that it's undamaged and unused
  • We'll refund any delivery charges you've paid if you return an entire order (UK orders only)

See full terms and conditions here, and information on Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013

Also you are likely to want to insert a sim card to use the phone which will lock it to a carrier which I would say makes it used and unsaleable at full RP!

I always manage to be doing something when the status of my order changes - so I generally have missed it after spam update for days previous with nothing. So my DPD package, probably like everyone elses, is also in Leicester in this huge hub. Expect Ill miss it moving from there to my local hub too ;)

That sounds like healthy advice. Just wishing I had ordered a 6S+ from Apple in the first place and just returned it as part of a test run if I didn't like it.

Thanks for looking into this.

Just spoken to DPD on twitter and they haven't and won't receive the iPhones until later tonight for delivery tomorrow morning!

My delivery will be via DPD. As of this morning, the tracking works for me. It says the delivery is coming from Leicester, so I assume it's currently going from hub to depot and then out for delivery tomorrow morning.

UPS tracking info now showing for me.

Also picked up by UPS My Choice which confirms delivery by end of day 25/9.

You are welcome but what sim would you likely put in? If not EE, Orange or T-Mobile its prob not such a big deal to get the phone you really want and have it unlocked later.

My phone seems to be travelling across the UK, and is now further away from me than when it first got collected by the courier. It got picked up near Birmingham, and last had an arrival scan just outside of Newcastle Upon Tyne. Ironically, to get there, it had to drive past where I live (and the nearest UK Mail depot to me) and is now even further away from me than it originally was. The mind boggles.

Come up on UPS for me too, does anyone know when they give the 4 hour slot on MyChoice?

Was this close to buying a rose 6s+ from John Lewis earlier. Had one in the basket but held off because of the sim card issues. Now noticed my vodafone estimate has changed from 22 October to 25 Sept. So who the hell knows but I'm more optimistic than I have been all week. In the meantime I'm living vicariously through you lot!

UPS TRACKING NOW LIVE!

15.00-19.00 delivery estimate. Bummer..

Via the UPS My Choice app I've changed my delivery to be held for collection at their depot.. Hoping I can pick it up earlier!
