Well it's used 16% battery in the last 24hrs. Photos is showing background process. Is it maybe uploading to iCloud or downloading?

Here's where we are after 6 hours, but it shows last 24 hrs use. The photos app did a sync before the last full charge. image.png

Point is, I'm using this far less intensively than my 6 plus. All syncing and app downloading was complete before I unplugged it at 3.15pm with a full battery. In 6 hours, I've only texted and checked a few emails. It's been in my bag most of the time. All apps were quit and there was a stong mobile signal and wifi. I am using this lightly compared to my iPhone 6 Plus, where I just used it, played games, app background refresh etc, but the battery life is a third.

Looks like I have the first casualty. My iPhone 6s Plus refuses to wake up (yes it's charged) and the touch id is constantly warm. Off to see Apple tonight...annoying.

This happened to me today in work. Pulled my phone out of my pocket, home button didn't work nor the power button. I pressed both at the same time for a few seconds and it rebooted and is fine now. I've had numerous iPhones do this, don't think its anything to worry about!

EDIT - My touch ID wasn't warm though!!

I think you need to give it time to settle. I'm not saying you could have a faulty battery but these devices take time to settle. I didn't get great battery life at first but let the phone die completely, then charged to 100%. This was a reading the other day but it was very very heavy use.

Sounds like you have a dodgy phone I would be getting it into Apple. Surely they can run diagnostics on it to see what is up

I am now using my iPad Air2 since my iPhone 6s is low on juice. My friends think I'm obsessive, but it's a lot of money and I need it to last me 10 hrs. My Apple Watch came off the stand at 8.30am and still has 30%. I just wanted my iPhone 6s to last the same. I know I'm moaning, but I was very excited like most of you for several weeks, and it's just not good. I'm taking it back.

Get a replacement 6s or get a 6s plus? I feel bad taking things back. I know I'm used to the 6 plus battery, but I accounted for that and I tweaked some settings.

My 6s plus still has 40% and it's been used all day since 6am.

@MacMandy

It's probably a rogue app if it isn't a faulty battery, did you use an old backup?

I'm seeing better battery life with every charge.

This is today:

Any O2 customers?

I received a new SIM in the same package as the iPhone arrived in. I'm upgrading from an existing account. I presume I don't need the new SIM and I just pop the old one into the new iPhone?

It could just be that battery. I'm also coming down from 6plus to 6s and although I can tell the battery is 'less' it's definitely not an issue. Mine is off charge from 7.30am - 8pm ish daily and so far I've not put it onto the dock with less than 50% charge

Quick battery stats update. This is pretty normal usage for me while at work. 6S Plus. The Downcast & MacGeekGab entries are all streaming (I never download), so the 3G/4G radio was on the whole time. Don't think that was too bad to still have 27% left after 14+ hours.

FYI for those of you hunting iPhone for reservation. Stock is getting much better. I reserved a SG 6S+ at 3.30pm today at Regent Street. Collected it at 7pm to find a line of over a hundred people with reservations.

The collection took well over an hour as a result. They didn't even check my reservation when I got to the end of the line, just asked what model and size I wanted. Queue was so long that they shut down the store at 7.20 for reservations only.

I got a 6S on Friday and thought I'd try out the 6S+ to secure my decision. After two hours, decision made - I am returning the 6S+. It's too big. There was loads of UI lag, and 3D Touch didn't work on half the Apple stock apps where it works on my 6S. Strange. Size was the main issue though.

Battery life on my 6S is really good. But boy it does feel small now :)

Had to plug in my trusty Anker when I got to 15% at 10.45pm from a full charge at 3.15pm. Oh dear. image.pngimage.png Something is definitely going on with Siri. I've not used it and Hey Siri is disabled. Any ideas? I've done a restart or two already. iPhone was set up as a new phone and is running 9.0.1

Don't need the new card. Chuck it

I have "hey Siri" active and use Siri and it only used 1% over the last 24 hours. There is definitely a problem with the amount you have used.

Try turning Siri off altogether, restart and turn it back on and see if that will reset it.

And try what I said. Allow the phone to die then fully charge it.

Thx guys. I did do a full dishcharge and recharge yesterday. I've turned Siri off completely and done a restart. It's charging now from 15%, and I'll monitor things tomorrow.

Sorry for moaning about it, and thanks for your advice. I really appreciate it.

Great to hear! How many times did you check for a reservation before you actually saw one available? My issue is I keep missing the brief windows lol.

I completely understand how you feel as I felt the same coming from a 6 and knowing the 6s has a smaller battery. But this 6s now seems to be getting better and better each day. It should improve but if it doesn't after a couple of days then please go to apple to check it out. Also I'm running 9.1 beta so battery life shouldn't be as good as a full public release version.

For those of you on the fence, I've gone from the 5s to the 6s+ and so far it's going well. Took it off charge yesterday morning, and with normal use (often only with 1 or 2 bars of Three coverage, but good enough to be reliable), it is still not quite empty. Recently I even had some days when the 5s was threatening to quit by late afternoon. I'm even not finding the massive size too difficult to use.
