I just found out from Vodafone UK that despite ordering at 0805 with them my order wasn't processed until 0925 because they used a contingency system to 'prevent main system crashes' and now I'm not guaranteed a device on launch day because it was manually processed so late.

How'd you find this out? Ordered at the same time as you. Cheers.

If anyone hasn't got their email yet... don't panic, follow the instructions posted by Brooksy (I think)... call Apple on 0800 048 0408 and ask for your confirmation email to be resent as you didn't receive it.

I've just got off the phone with them and the email arrived immediately.

I used their online chat. Painless, simple, sorted.

You can change the address online but it needs to be done in advance (i.e. a few days before will be too late). Why not have it delivered to a pickup point like a local newsagent or services like Doddle?

I hadn't thought of that, my parents should be back from their holidays by then so I'll get them sent to their house.

Thanks

Considering how fast the 6s Plus' have sold out as compared to the 6s, I think that they just had more stock for the 6s.
Another theory is that many 6 owners are upgrading to the 6s Plus instead, therefore reducing the number of normal 6s sales.
Yes noticed that!!

The 6S this year isnt the most popular, even after 24 hours since phones went on sale the 6S is available for launch day. Including store pick up.

I think its the plus models which have probed popular and one thing Apple should do next year is make more 7+ models than 7 ones because once you go plus you dont go back is what many have said.

Just to let you guys know CEX are giving £375 for my iPhone whereas Envirofone are only giving £350. No faffing around either waiting for them to send you the offer through the post. In my experience CEX don't really change their prices after new versions are released either so may be a way to go on or after launch day.

Wonder what Apple will give for the rose gold ones this year no doubt they are going to pay over odds and people who buy to sell will be taking them there to sell for more. Maybe it helps subsidise the cost of their purchase?

But thats what CEX tend to do every uear not that im encouraging it but its what ive seen people do.

I wanted a 6 last year so bad after missing launch, walk into CeX and they wanted like £700 for it!!

Two issues I have with CEX are:

1. Online what if they deem your phone isn't the grade you think it is? Is it returned, can you trust in the care they take of it?

2. If you sell instore they need to have the money available in the float to pay you. If they don't they can offer a credit voucher for the store or you'll have to keep coming back.
CEX do bank transfer now if they dont have cash

I phoned them up this morning to ask about my confirmation email not coming. They said it'll come sometime in the coming week.

Thank you for that. I received an email confirmation from them but their Order Tracker is weird. This morning I'd ordered a 5S and now it's just a 6 Plus.

I'm annoyed for you... Bad business practice. Hope they sort themselves out and give you priority!

Spoke to the chat person this morning about mine and they didn't know why it hadn't come through but said it was all confirmed and fired through the confirmation email

Just thought to calm any preorder newbie nerves (i know i had them the first, second, third, fourth time) once you get that *email confirming, your order is placed. So relax a little and have a deep breath. On order page once your item goes into 'preparing' your order is as official as it can get and now you can just relax! It wont change again until the item is packed up ready to be shipped a few days before when you were told you'd receive it. Thats roughly when the money will get taken too from the account.

You might have had a pre-auth for the whole amount of money go from your account (it will come back again in a few days its just how retailers check you have the money) or you may not. Either way, nothing to worry about. I had a pre-auth but for £0.00! So really, we are all generally safe with those orders now, relax, go back to life and look forward to the 25th.

*if you haven't had that confirmation email there are several posts here telling you how to chase that up via automated phone line.

Chris.

Just had an email from EE that my order is being processed. Like another poster I rang them because it looked like it hadn't gone through as an upgrade but rather a new contract, hope I don't lose my topcashback deal though!

I got the email as well but when I go online into my account it doesn't say I have any reservations in place, anyone having this problem?...

Thats how it works. You pay when you pickup. If you miss your slot your phone goes into pile for walk-ins as they know they will have people queuing out the door for weeks.

Did this last year and was great. You go along, one queue for the people willing to sleep rough (or scalping) and one for the reserved. 15 minutes I was in and out.

I expect the chinese scalpers to be less this year as the phone is on sale at the same time. Last year you would see people coming out, handing bag after bag to the gang masters and then re-joining the queue.

Seriously why is everyone being so pathetic about an order confirmation email? It's the weekend. It Will come. Ringing up and asking for an order confirmation email is not going to change the outcome of getting your phone. Just be patient and wait

I just phoned them again to ask this and now they can't find my order at all. I was moving to Vodafone to get away from EE's incompetence and useless customer service, but I don't see the point now : /

In all honesty EE have been great over the phone with this order. Online however was a different matter. I was ready to order at 8am sharp and it took me over 6 hours to finally get through online to order...

Ok captain Buzzkill!!!!

Invade you've missed it most people enjoy the hype of it all and the fact that it turns perfectly reasonable adults into nervous worriers is all part of the fun

Ouch, this is why I stick with o2. They have been so good to me for the past few years and if you don't want refresh, do it through carphone and they will discount the upfront fee when you upgrade your contract through them.

How do you know it is not as popular. Like already stated they may just have made more of that model.

Because it's an order confirmation email, an absence of which implies an order has not been confirmed.

Exactly! Pre orders are a time to endulge in a bit of irrational and impatient behaviour, this is the one time of the year we are allowed to get stressed as we track our iPhone's every move until it lands at our front door! Besides it is all in good fun! It's what this thread is for after all :D

How is it pathetic? online orders are never accepted and confirmed until you have been notified that a retailer has accepted your order and/or money is exchanged.

However, people can check their order status page to see if their order has changed from order recieved to processing order.

I'm still yet to receive a confirmation email, i'm guessing this is a separate email to the "Your order is being processed" that i got as soon as i pre-ordered which was around 8:07am(ish). Should i be worried?
